Visit during the work week for an Evensong service. The boys of the choir school are wonderful and produce music of the highest order.

Saw Handles Messiah there. What a great experience. The orchestra, the vocals, and the choir were fantastic.

I visited here twice during the holidays. A mid-day Eucharist service in a small chapel for all seven of us in attendance was a fine time out from the festive energy of NYC at Christmas. We returned also for a Blessing of the Creche, This came across as a bit like a cantata centered around the story found in Luke's gospel. The program was most endearing with children, animals.and costumes. The church itself is a venerable gothic structure worthy of careful attention. All these grand churches are best experienced as a church rather than a tourist stop. It deserves way more than a three minute peek and a phone shot of the ceiling. The rector was most hospitable.

This is a beautiful oasis in the city It's not often crowded with tourists. It's gorgeous but the fact that it's not full of Looky Lous maintains the feeling that you're in a sacred space. I don't know too much about our lady of 5th avenue but I used to go there during my lunch hours sometimes and pray for more pay and will work from home job. I have both now so... Do I recommend St Thomas's Yes and no. If you go there maybe it'll be too full of tourists to maintain that sacred feeling. I didn't take a picture of the organ but it's absolutely a work of art.

Exquisite Choir and fabulous Organ/Organists. Worship is high-church style with quite some Anglo-Catholic features. Noticed some minor liturgical hiccups during the Eucharist on All Saints Day 2022. F.ex. Organ music stopped way ahead before the ablutions were completed, people remained kneeling for the Dismissal/Ite missa est.
Looking at the Bulletin, it was sometimes not clear what is sung and what is spoken. A place welcoming lots of tourists and one-time visitors needs to be accurate here and the parish has definitely the human and financial resources for this.
Not sure about the Rector‘s purely anecdotical „homily“, it stood in stark contrast with the elegant, traditionalist rest of the service.
They are webcasting many of their services, which is wonderful. Yet they should choose a more user-friendly solution for giving with a mobile phone, such as National Cathedral‘s implementation of EasyTithe on their website

Plain ashlar limestone exterior surfaces and interior surfaces are made of sandstone. It’s super amazing view.

Very "High Church" Anglican. Perhaps the finest Church choir in the cathedral tradition in North America.

Just an amazing concert with Boys' and Men's Choir and stunning music for two pianos. The cathedral itself is inspirational - majestic! A wonderful experience which brought some of us to tears.

Such a welcoming atmosphere that I highly recommend. Large space. Woman pastor gives heartfelt sermons. They have kids Bible manuals up front which is wonderful. In case you are Catholic you need to know they don’t do communion. I didn’t mind it because I didn’t have to kneel and go up and down which was nice. Please Don’t judge me. ;)
One big point to note is that Sunday service does fluctuate between 10 am and 11am so best to maybe call before or go at 10 to be safe and get some private prayer in if you went on the day it ended up being 11. Loved the organ music and feeling of community within those in attendance.

Beautiful Inside and Out. By 'Out', I mean the astonishing physical structure - it is truly a Gothic Cathedral, even if it can't technically be called that. The towing Gothic pillars holding the roof almost 90 feet in the air, the breathtaking collection of stained glass windows, set as high as possible in the stone walls, the indescribably ornate carvings behind the altar, (continuing as high as the ceiling!), the ornate dark woodwork spread throughout, the massive pipe organ.

By 'Inside' I mean the incredibly loving, fun and faithful community there! Rarely in my life have I met so many Cool, engaging people who simply go to church every week. It's become my home away from home. Don't Miss It! Make the effort to get there, and you'll be in for a treat, on the Inside and the Outside! Highest Recommendation.
