Stag & Lion Theatre Company reviews
5A quaint, cozy, dedicated little group of thespians and theater folk doing what they can with clamp lights, old curtains, and furniture they find on the street. Their shows are fun and entertaining and they could certainly use some people with nice bank accounts and a love of the arts to write them some checks and build upon their foundation.
I have performed here and also seen many shows here. I've thoroughly enjoyed doing both. Small space but great sight lines from any seat. Decent acoustics for a church basement. Ticket prices are very reasonable. Concessions available.
A delightful and spirited performance of A Christmas Carol. The costume and set design transport one handily back to Scrooge's notorious counting house - past, present, and future. The performances brought Dickens' timeless characters vibrantly to life, engaging you until you feel their woes and triumphs as if they were your own.
If you feel like you need a reminder of the meaning of Christmas (or the holidays!). Stag & Lion will absolutely melt that icy heart.
Highly recommend checking out a Stag & Lion production! My husband and I saw their performance of A Christmas Carol on a whim (we live in the neighborhood) and loved every moment. While we had seen other iterations of the play before, this one was easily our favorite take on the classic.
The cast delivered a fantastic performance in a cozy setting (think pillows dispersed amongst audience seats, 19th century building interior, and colorful drapery) where there is truly not a bad seat in the house. Simply put, if you're looking for an evening out seeing talented folks on a stage, while sipping on a shockingly affordable adult beverage, this is it.
Dedicated to the Craft!
The actors are incredibly passionate about their art and it shows down to the details of the theater. I saw “A Christmas Carol” here and was impressed by how much of the classic novel they included. They stick to source material.
