Great place to visit specially when you go for a tour on their summer Sunday program. It’s a science experiment. World’s first ion collider. Probably took them a billion dollars to build the whole ion collider project and it’s detectors.

Of all the solenoidal trackers at RHIC, this one is the best. If you're searching for quark-gluon plasma and hadronic jets, STAR has got you covered. Wheelchair accessible via overhead gantry crane.
