Coffee Shop Starbucks reviews
17I came to this Starbucks to order my usual and in the process of it, the girl at the register didn’t know how to transfer all of the money from different cards to one card. She very sweet by the way. She asked for help from someone higher up believe it was her manager. Her manager ended up taking over for her and the girl at the register was handling a few things at once which was understandable and the manager said to her “I hope you’re paying attention because I’m not going to show you again” with a very disgusting attitude. This is not what i expected out of the new management here. I was just so upset for the girl because she didn’t deserve that. She just needed help. This just goes to show how they treat their employees. Everyone has things they need to learn sometimes and i don’t think employees should be treated like that.
During Christmas I bought several gift cards for my staff. I was told that I would earn points and to date no points was added to my card. I stopped by the 871 8th Ave location because it was very cold and needed to warm up. Ordered a caramel macchiato and it was not mixed properly. After my first two sips I felt like throwing it away. My friend felt the same way.
This is my regular coffee stop before work. The staff is always very nice and the service is really good. The only downside to it, and I’m blaming it on Covid, is that they randomly shut down. They will just all of a suddenly close or not be open a day or two. Besides that, love it there. They also are very nice with their pup cups!
Generally, I also use the mobile app to order ahead and most of the time my drink is ready as soon as I walk in. Depending on the time of day, the sandwiches sometimes sell out so you have to look out for that. I usually always get either a grande iced caramel macchiato or a grande white chocolate mocha. I’ve only had problems with my drink once or twice and they are always willing to remake it.
I will definitely return and hope that the store hour problem is resolved now that all the pandemic is pretty much over.
I’ve been going to this location for over a decade now. In the beginning it was hit or miss. The convenience of this location is the primary reason I frequent this Starbucks. However, just the past 3-5 months I’ve been highly enjoying my visits and experiences for the sole reason of several employees. And I would like give the credit where credit is due. These young ladies (and young man) always make the effort to be welcoming, efficient and thoughtful with each time I visit. It’s not mentioned enough the ‘beatings’ the employees take from taking care of hundreds (maybe thousands) of customers a day. But these well adjusted and professional Starbucks employees make it look so seamless! I really want to take the time to give a thunderous compliment to Tiff, Yahtze (sp?), Carla & Christopher! Each of these Starbucks employees are exemplary at what they do. Juggling work and customers is not for the faint of heart but these core four really make coming to this Starbucks location just that much more rewarding! I cannot express enough how much they make a difference! Please do say hi to any and all of them and you will see!
I was at this location just now, and had a horrible experience. The order was backed up for more than 20-30 minutes, which I understand - it can get busy, and the customers were getting frustrated, which is only natural. But then when a customer came up to ask for the rest of the order (he got one out of the two he ordered), this employee rudely told him to “go to the front and get a refund if you can’t wait for your order. ” She was EXTREMELY RUDE, and then told others “Alright all of you who can’t wait for your order can get back in line and get a refund”. It is literally her job to make drinks and serve customers, and while I understand you can get frustrated when you’re busy, that is no reason to be RUDE. Some customer even called the cops on her; I hope this shows the severity of the situation. She should not be working in a service industry. Avoid this place when this employee is working - she was slender, tall African American woman with curly hair, was not wearing a name tag.
Best Starbucks in the city in terms of friendliness, efficiency and quality. I go out of my way to make sure I go to this location because it’s the best!
By far the nicest Starbucks I’ve been to. The workers are so sweet and greet every person that comes in. I have seen some bad reviews and couldn’t believe it. Probably they had a bad day. Cheer’s up baristas!
I’ve been ordering here all week while staying nearby and I love this location! Tia is a crack up with the questions of the day! Thank you all for great service from this Australian tourist?
The employee/manager who seems to be running this place is very rude. She doesn’t have a name tag but she’s wearing glasses, has curly hair, and is African American. She told the customers who had been waiting for more than 30 minutes to just “get back in line and get refund. ” This is ridiculous. Perhaps the reason she doesn’t have a name tag is that she has been getting too many complaints. AVOID THIS EMPLOYEE AT ALL COSTS.
Wow, you feel like a VIP the minute you walk in the door! Everyone greets you and says hello, you can't help but be in a good mood coming here. Best Starbucks I've ever been to in NYC!
A beautiful shop, welcoming and inviting.
A nice diverse group of humans working together. This IS New York. This is what NYC is all about.
Great cool vibes, nice music, delicious choc cream cold brew- what more could one ask for on these last dog days of summer? ️
They have the best barista! A short simple conversation with them while ordering coffee to start my day was all i need
They seem to be extremely shorthanded (who isn't these days) but still powering through the massive crowds here. Very friendly and keep you in the loop of what's going on. Cheers.
Such a friendly Starbucks. The cashier was especially helpful. Lots of outlets to charge a phone or plug in a laptop.
Whoever is the new manager here deserves a raise. The workers all seem happier and content. Previously they were short staff and stressed.
Two thumbs up! I not only left with my chai, but compliments and good conversations too! U go starbs location!
The workers here are outstanding. Every single one greets you with a smile and the amount of kind compliments I’ve gotten from them have absolutely made many of my days. Starbucks- THIS is the store you need to give everyone a raise to and base all stores off of. My favorite Starbucks in the city.
