Station Inn Pawling

Enjoyable little town with several excellent food options. The accommodations were comfortable and very clean. We stayed in the Morning Light apartment which only has one bathroom in the primary bedroom. The shower curtain made for tight space but hot water was abundant. Likewise, the apartment has plenty of closet space and could benefit from a full size ironing board and additional mirror. The main living area spacious but could be rearranged for better functionality since the wall mounted fireplace was behind entry door.

This was the perfect place for me. The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the contactless checkin procedures. If you are the kind of person who wants someone on premises maybe this isn't your stay, but it was perfectly seemless for me!

Located in the centre of Pawling, very close to the railway line.
(Ear plugs provided) Nice coffee machine, fridge and ice maker in hall way serving all downstairs rooms. Disappointed that there was no decaff coffee, or any teas and the ice box in fridge was full of ice and unuseable. Room lacked any clothes hangers. Automatic check in code provided only via an email, which we were unaware of. The email with the code went to our junk mail, and we didn't receive a text. Luckily a fellow guest helped us to contact the owner, to gain admission.

This is A ghost hotel meaning no desk check in or personal. Smart and easy entry. Interior is clean and spotless. Modern rooms with nice quality bed, towels, bathrobes, big screen tv, Wi-Fi and extras. Highly recommend.

I’m a professional hair and makeup artist; I stayed here because I did hair and makeup for a beautiful wedding in Pine Plains. I only stayed in the room for less than 12 hours but the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The only things that I would’ve loved to have was a table to eat my dinner at (instead of seated on the bed) and a bigger bathroom counter (so I had somewhere to wash and dry my makeup brushes). The bathroom counter was non-existent. Other than that the water pressure was good, and I didn’t feel the need to wear socks or my hotel slippers in the room. Hotel carpets make my skin crawl but not here! I was also able to part right in front of the hotel for free.

We’ve always dreamed of visiting the Appalachian Trail, but we wanted to get a taste of what it’s like before we plan anything big, so we found Pawling on a map and headed up after five days in New York City. The Station Inn and Pawling was the perfect getaway from the bright lights and our stay really helped to top off the trip of a lifetime.

As a first time visitor to the USA, I’m so pleased we made the decision to stay here. The Inn was immaculate, check-in was smooth with the keypad, and the location is stunning. If you want a taste of what life would be like living in a small town in America, this would be it. The sense of community was so strong, and after meeting Susan by chance at the property, she gave us some great tips on where to eat and explore. We bumped into Susan and her husband in the local Irish pub, O’Connor’s on our second night and they were more than happy to chat to us for a while. We absolutely loved our stay and Pawling has stolen a place in our hearts.

Staying at Station Inn felt like a hybrid hotel and Airbnb experience. It was not the best of both world because we paid hotel prices but got the minimum level of service we’ve come to expect from an Airbnb. No front desk, just a passcode to let you in building and then your room. The rooms were very clean and neat, but ours was an absolute shoe box. We stayed over Labor Day Weekend, but the hotel still felt VERY expensive. Bed was incredibly comfortable, but barely any room to walk around. They did provide coffee on the second floor, but you had to walk out of the room into a small common hallway. A train line passes right out from of the building so you will probably need to use the earplugs they supply in the room! It’s a good location, with lots of shops right around the corner. Again, rooms were very clean and up to date.

My sister and I are thru hiking the AT southbound and absolutely loved staying here. We often reminisce on it as our favorite stay thus far. It was a great location in town. And we really loved the bathrobes. We stayed on the second floor and had no trouble checking in! The email we received with instructions was perfect. Definitely want to return here for a separate trip.

Beautiful, clean space on 3rd floor. Lots of amenities and easily walkable to town and train.

We had a great stay on the first floor. The veranda was a wonderful addition. It was so clean and bright. The fresh flowers and cookies were a wonderful touch. We’ll definitely stay again. Great addition to Pawling Susan.

3rd floor walk up 1 BR was Immaculate. Sleek new decor throughout. High quality and comfortable. Well appointed and. Nespresso machine and pods! Very nice. Could use a 2nd mirror outside of bathroom. Bathroom door cannot fully open/close due to bed frame. Elevator a surprise but not reliable. A bit noisy but fir us was not a problem.

I was in need of a recovery day from AT hiking trip. I kindly asked for and was granted an early check in. I even was upgraded to room 12! The text exchanges were great with timely info and updates. I was much recovered after my time there!

Highly recommend. A gem. Beautifully appointed room. In the middle of the quaint downtown, and around the corner from renowned Vinny’s deli. Next to the train station, so accessible without a car from NYC.
