Steep Rock West reviews
19 Came here for the first time and WOW what an experience.
I was so nervous when I walked in and now, I MUST get a membership.
Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful (definitely added to the experience)
I will definitely be back?
Downstairs was not bad at all, but honestly their upstairs bouldering space is incredibly unsafe and is the reason for the 2 star review. I got pretty injured upstairs. I will admit it was probably time to get new shoes however the foot jibs when I visited before COVID where so worn down and dirty that combined with my need for new shoes caused me to fall, in doing so I fell straight down and rolled backwards to break my fall as a result I hit the base of my skull on the steel retaining cords. Mind you I'm not that tall of a person 5'6. So my recommendation is to avoid the upstairs area all together, unless they have significantly altered the padding
Really fun rock climbing gym the pricing is really reasonable and the people were super nice it has good hours so it's easy to find a time.
The setting here is very good, with a wide range of both accessible and more challenging climbs. Off-peak passes make this place a must for parents trying to keep their climb-frenzied children engaged, while saving a few bucks.
The staff was very attentive here. I had a wonderful experience with some friends. We had a blast coming here!
A small cozy climbing gym. Very good medium to hard climbs. My only complaint about the setting is the lack of easier climbs. Even the easy climbs that are there are way above a 10 year olds level or a ladder climb. That being said, this is a very small problem that doesn’t concern most. Service is amazing but just make sure to bring a card as they don’t accept cash or Apple Pay.
Im a total noob (only about 4 months of bouldering) but ive visited a few gyms around the city and this has to be my favorite. Awesome staff, clean facilities, constantly updated sets, the exercise area is well equipped and great for some conditioning. All in all, solid 5 out of 5.
Friendly staff, amazing experience, extremely clean. I will definitely be going back to climb some more.
I tried and I hated it! Lol It's just not for me smh. This just have to be your thing, for you to enjoy. The place was very clean and Sanitize, low staff BUT, the gentleman did his thing and was very professional. GO if you're into this, not if you just wanna try something new️
Love this space. Clean, challenging, barbells for strength training. Finally a place uptown to climb
Cool Gym I went for acro-yoga and stayed for rock climbing afterwards! Very good experience! Prices are low, especially if you are student! Parking is hard, but possible to find.highly recommend
Great bouldering gym! Huge windows means there's lots of natural light, and good variety of routes. A small gym/weights area too, and lockers and bathrooms in the basement. There are free lockers for storing your stuff during your session (bring your own lock), and also smaller lockers you can rent for $25 per month, for storing stuff between sessions.
Great spot to climb, welcoming and kind staff. The gender neutral bathrooms were a pleasant surprise, and the difficulty curve of the wall is varied.
Great bouldering gym in Manhattanville with easy access to the 1 train and cross-town buses on 125 Street.
Very nice place. The interior was clean and spacious. Although small, it has a lot of different courses with fresh holds. Additionally, they have discounts for students which is really helpful.
Fun bouldering spot. It's quite nice i hear that they share routesetters with GP81 which leads to some high quality and challenging routes
Cool place with lots of options and decent workout area. Lots of route options for beginners as well as veterans. The routes upstairs are shorter but definitely challenging and fun. I didnt give this place 5 stars bc it's really small and the layout is a little weird (lockers, bathrooms & water fountains in the basement). But overall would recommend for a chill solid bouldering spot.
This is a great place to go rock climbing. The facilities are new and well-maintained. The staff members are very friendly and super helpful! I highly recommend this activity. Their hours fit any schedule and the location is conveniently located right near the 1 line. Highly recommend!
