Doctor Chandrasekhar seemed completely disinterested during my appointment. She entered the room, said hello, and that was the last time she made eye contact with me. The appointment lasted less than 10 minutes, most of which I spent reciting my symptoms while she tapped notes into her computer without asking me questions or interacting with me at all. She then looked into my ears. And that was it, despite the fact that I'd been suffering from vertigo/dizziness for months. It was not a thorough exam, and I did not feel valued by the doctor.

At the end, she told me she suspected Meniere's disease, but referred me to a neurologist. There was no explanation as to why I was being referred elsewhere despite Meniere's being squarely within an ENTs range. It felt like she just didn't want to handle another patient and was punting on me.

To add insult to injury, I was charged THREE separate co-pays for this one visit. Co-pays for the office visit and audiologist, fine. But I was also charged a separate co-pay for "Use of a microscope with two eye pieces instead of the traditional single eye piece. " So, an ENT does her job and looks into my ears while perfunctorily conducting an exam, but charges me a separate copay because it was a SPECIAL instrument? Absolutely disgusting

Only reason I elevated from 1 star is because I was seen promptly at the scheduled time.

First off, I can’t express enough how informative and at ease everything has been from start to finish. Very professional, relaxing environment and very welcoming as well. Patience, and answered all questions. I left with a feeling of comfort and in good hands. Had an informative and memorable experience, and would recommend highly, very grateful to have been a part of the experience and thankful additionally. Top Marks all around, and couldn’t have been happier all around!

Initial hearing assessment for both me and my husband was completed professionally, thoroughly and efficiently. Post examination feedback and recommendations were clear and comprehensive. Team collaboration is impressive.

Dr. Chandrasekhar was very professional and get straight to the point. The front desk was also amazing and quick.

I was supposed to get written information about my clacking jaw. I didn’t. I called and tried to email but still no response.

Dr. Chandrasekhar is a careful, thoughtful and responsive doctor. She’s smart, answers all of your questions and spends time listening to you. Her assistant Barbara is also great. The office staff is friendly and very pleasant even when very busy.

My problem is dizziness I waited months for this appointment. My appointment was for 3: 20. I did not get to see the doctor until after 5: 00. Sitting in the office that long was not ideal. When I finally saw the doctor I was told that there was nothing that she could do for me. I think that she should have recommended something to try. Upon checking out I was handed many pages of diagnosis and recommendations. She recommended Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy, not to me, but in written pages. It would have been better if I could have spoken directly with her. I do not have an idea what Vestibule Rehabilitation is or where to go. Since I’m so dizzy, which was the reason for my appointment, it is extremely difficult for me to leave my apartment. When I did finally get to see the Dr she was very patient and spent a considerable amount of time with me.

I didn’t know what to expect, because getting appointments with ENT specialists can take a while… but ENT & Allergy Associates was a great experience. On-site testing was convenient and Dr. Chandrasekhar was superb! I am grateful for her input and feedback, and interest in following up in a scheduled manner.

Dr. Chandrasekar is one of the best ENT you will find. However the staff in Manhattan is far from pleasant. Much less, accomodating. I have been waiting for a month to go to my appointment. On my way there, with high traffic, and gps not properly working in such a crowded area, it took me 3: 30 hours to be there, what normally would take me 1: 30 hour or less, depending on traffic, parking spot, weather or who knows what happens, its NYC! I gave myself 2: 30 hours to be there taking the bus and walking to the office, which is reasonable time from my location. After arriving to my appointment an hour late.never mind the hassle of traffic inside a packed bus.never mind the gps was not working properly while I was walking because maybe it was bouncing of buildings or something while walking to her office from the bus station… never mind I was huffing and puffing to get there… and never mind I had to wait a whole month to get this appointment even when I tried calling a few times to reschedule for an earlier date for this appointment. I was told at 3: 30pm when I finally arrived to her office, that I had to reschedule, because the doctor will only see me after the audiologist makes an evaluation of my hearing and the audiologist leaves (or left.not sure if she was still in the office when I arrived) at 3: 00pm.
I understand the obvious. I was late to my appointment. However.it leaves a lot to desire to make such an effort to be there on time, which I did not achieve due to heavy traffic and other details during my journey.and to be treated with such disregard because I could not arrive on time. I do not recommend this location to get an appointment with Dr. Chandrasekar. As for me, any good doctor I find will be fine after this experience.
No, thank you, I do not care to reschedule. And no, thank you, the best of the best should have a staff and an attitude that represents the best of the best.
Dear Dr. Chandrasekar, get the whole package and allow your patients and customers to be treated with more dignity, respect and compassion.
I was lucky to have that day off, which actually happened when somebody picked up my shift and I could actually have the day off.
No, I don’t appreciate being treated like a yes or no question after investing so much time and effort. I’m upset and disappointed. Not that anybody cares. But whoever reads this, will understand, to give themselves 4 hours to be there on time or maybe go somewhere else.

Ps: Dear Dr. Sujana Chandrasekar, find another office that is more accessible. Get out of Manhattan. It’s so hard to find an appointment with you, and the staff in the front desk are so unfriendly. Get the whole package that represents the core values of a wholesome business. Your staff leave a lot to desire when outsiders are dealing with them. Give yourself some time to rethink your business. It can be done so much better. All the best to you.
