Thai Restaurant Sukhothai reviews
20We have been coming here for years, and only just realized I never reviewed it. This place has amazing, fresh, and very unique Thai food. Their Thai toast is a great starter to share. Pineapple fried rice and the drunken noodles are amazing. You can always try a different protein in the rice and also ask for it be spicy or Thai hot as well! Beware, Thai hot is very hot. Their Sukathai chicken is amazing and has such a good rich flavor. So many options of noodles, proteins, rice, tofu, etc. There is something for everyone to enjoy
Came here 2x in 4 days. Great experience
Staff and food is excellent
Authentic Thai in Duchess county
This was my 3rd try- first 2 not at all good,
#3 was spectacular!
Food and service Spot on!
We love how many authentic restaurants there are in Beacon, and Sukhothai isn’t disappointing!
As vegans we were happy to be met with option for the fish sauce and a wide range of dishes on the menu. The service has always been quick and flawless. Their teas are real good as well!
Typically, our go to place but not anymore. Food is great when you get what you ordered. Last several experiences were horrible. Placed a to go order and was told it was about a 15 to 20 minute wait. Forty-five minutes later, the man at the front blames the cooks in the back. The cook didn't tell us 45 min wait, the front man did. Came home to find out our pineapple fried rice did not have protein and the curry that we ordered with beef didn't have beef but chicken. Lastly, when we looked at our order, it was not the cooks fault who made what the front desk input. Over 100.00 later, I'm done. It's been nice but to many places in Fishkill that also serve yummy Thia food.
We were here for the first time last week. Everything we had was delicious. I will definitely be back.
We love Sukhothai! Great food, wonderful people, a good value. Can't give 6 stars, or we would!
The food is delicious. Highly recommend the fried spring rolls and the curry sampler! One of my favorite restaurants in town.
I read the reviews on Yelp and Google, and despite the warnings and red flags I had to be my own judge. I was a glutton for punishment. I am happy that I was, because despite how much I LOVE Thai food and wanted this within walkable distance location to be my go-to, it will sadly not be.
If it is authentic Thai food that you seek.
If it is flavor that you are wanting.
If it is spice, (not even spicy as in hot spicy) but spice as in seasoning that you are anticipating.
You will not find it anywhere.
Not in an appetizer, soup, noodle, rice or protein. We ordered a ton of food because that is what Thai food nuts do when we feast, we order the entire menu and we share it.
You will not find a single spice which is absurd for Thai. Not even a salt and pepper shaker on the table can save you. None.
If you are expecting what myself and the 5 other Thai food nuts that had dinner the other evening were, you will be very confused, disappointed and requesting a large bowl of sriracha to make it palatable. We doused everything in sriracha. I am not exaggerating. Even if you're not a fan of hot sauce, a bit salt and pepper would have been just fine.barely.
Do you like drunken noodles? Well, I'm sorry to tell you. You will receive a bland tomato based spaghetti. Confused? So were taste buds and my eyes. My senses were distraught.
Even my little sister who eats EVERY and ANYTHING picked over her food. She said "the chicken doesn't taste like anything". And there you have it.
For us, never again. Not even if desperate and the only thing available.
For folks that don't care about anything I listed, bone apple teeth lol
Wish this place was better. Americanized Thai food at a higher-than-expected price. Not terrible, but just doesn’t scratch my Thai craving.
I couldn't decide whether they deserved a 3 star or a 4 star. I decided on 4 for the duck with spicy basil. Even saying that though it’s pretty hit or miss.
Papaya salad was lacking in taste, sent it back for add-ons. (Don't be scared of fish sauce people) My Tom yum gai was so sour
And for future reference. If you want spicy go hotter than hot! I asked for hot on my duck and it came out mild.
I've been here a couple times. Sometimes service is good. Other times you're waiting a while.
Also I’ve noticed their servings of rice have gotten REALLY small.
Ordered a Thai noodle soup with tofu - mild. Received a soup with no tofu and no spice. The noodles were cooked too long and would crumble when I tried to eat them. Very disappointed with my order.
Very accommodating; catering to my special dietary request without compromising that authentic Thai spice!
Incredible Thai food and kind staff and owners. We drive almost an hour to make it here and we look forward to returning!
Worst Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at. Doesn't resemble Thai food, sort of like mediocre Chinese.
The most delicious authentic Thai food I've ever had! And wonderful service. I took my 2 kids here and they were thoughtful, made my daughter chopsticks she could use by squeezing them. Best restaurant experience I've ever had with my children. I look forward to returning.
Ordered dumplings and an entrée for pickup. Upon getting home I found they didn't put the dipping sauce for the dumplings and the entrée was barely warm. Expected better after paying $40 for this meal.
We were looking for an excellent Thai restaurant around the area. This place did not disappoint. Someone in our party couldn't dine inside the restaurant, and they were more than happy to accommodate the group for outside seating. My whole group enjoyed the food. Great service! Parking wasn't challenging to find either—Excellent Pad Thai and curry.
This place has amazing food. You should try their white version of pad Thai which tastes completely different from the traditional pad Thai that everyone is used to. (It tastes different in a great way!)
If you’re looking for Thai food sukhothai should be top of your list.
Great lunch spot. Very reasonably priced for lunch. Outdoor seating has some shade after 1pm and there was a nice breeze on a 85 degree day. You can also see the Fishkill Falls while having lunch. Service was good. Food was good, esp the green curry and mango sticky rice. The fried tofu and thai ice tea was good too.
