My family and I have been using Sundown Ski & Patio for all our skiing equipment and clothing since it has opened. The staff has always been helpful and gone above and beyond for us. They have always taken the time to look up equipment that we were specifically looking for or had equipment sent from other stores if we needed a specific size.

We stopped in last year on our way to head to Vermont on a ski trip, the store was packed on a Friday night, but they accommodated us by sharpening and waxing our skis right away. We were able to grab a bite to eat and come back for our sharpened and freshly waxed skis for a great weekend of skiing.

We bought our daughter a "must-have" ski jacket at the beginning of the season and the staff looked up a recent coupon to help defer the full price of the jacket. We also bought goggles and we must have tried on every pair, but the staff was patient and described the benefits of each pair. We bought two pair and they were perfect for the slopes!

Another great thing about Sundown was that you can sell your used equipment at their tent sale and apply the money towards new equipment. With growing kids, we are always growing out of our equipment.

It takes us an hour to get to the shop from our house, but it's like going into Cheers where everyone knows your name, and worth the trip to bypass two other ski shops to head there! -Sharon Bendzlowicz

My husband and I went on Tuesday at 11am to rent skis for the weekend. We each tried on boots and were all set when the computer froze. Then after waiting over 45 minutes we were told to come back on Friday and pay for rental when we pick up the skis. Even with the computer freezing they were able to ring us up for a pair of snow boots and sunglasses.
Well on that Friday, when my husband came to pay and pick up skis they had no recollection of us being there on Tuesday. Now not only did he have to try on boots again they didn’t have one that would fit him so used A ZIP-TIE to make the boot fit! I also had to go back to try boots for myself, so instead of packing up the car and getting ready to head on the road for our trip I was stuck sitting in traffic heading back to ski down for the second time!
To top it all off the ZIP TIE that SKI DOWN thought was acceptable broke not even half way down the first run we did!
I did not know of this zip tie trick until we were literally on our way down the mountain, and still can not believe this is how they tried to make a quick fix and still charge full price!
After my experience here I will never go back to Sundown Farmingdale again!

Bus trips are great. Farmingdale store rude owner pretty sure it was one of the owners.one person in the snowboard / rental department he was a great help no problems with him but he was busy putting a board together from scratch and the other part of the store was empty.the lady at the front said we had to wait even know they were just chit chatting behind the counter and didnt want to help me. I was in the store over 30 minutes just for a boot rental. Definatly wouldn't go back. It's a store.workers should be up and helping customers not having family time at the register. No work ethic. She was nasty to the employees to.

I went to Sundown yesterday with my girlfriend to purchase some skis that were put on hold for her from another location. Once we got there we waited around for a 10 minutes before someone came over to help. The young sales person who was very helpful told us that the skies that were on hold for us for $80 more than what we had been told at the other location. We proceed to tell him that we were quoted another price and if he could double check. He did and then came back and told us this was the price. We weren't taking that as a final answer. I asked if they were maybe on sale and there was a different sale price. He went to check with his manger. This short guy with a little goatee and a bad attitude. He said it loud enough for us to hear across the room " the price is the price i don't know what to tell them" with that i walked over to him and proceeded to tell him that if he wouldn't mind checking his sale list, he might be wrong. After he pulled out this little chat and tried to prove to me that i was wrong. He then realized that we were right and the skies were on sale and the $399 price quoted was correct. No apologize, no nothing. We came in and spent 400 plus dollars with tax and were treated terribly by the manger. I do not know how you can run a ski store in the winter time (prime season) where the mangers talk to you like this.i wouldn't go back to that location but if you do stay away from Napoleon.

The staff were nice and friendly. Was looking for new snowboarding boots and they had several brands and models. They didn't have the size in the model I wanted. Just bought socks for now, but would go back during a sale.

Jim & the whole staff over there are always on their A - game. I’ve been renting gear for my daughter and I for a few years now. The service and professionalism is always top notch. Staten Island to Farmingdale LI with no complaints! Thank you.

Awesome place! Good rental prices, and great employees. One guy helped me look for my wallet when I dropped it in the parking lot. Never found it again but I was grateful that he helped me look

I spent a pretty decent amount of money on a wicker chair. The first chair broke before it was even in the car. The second chair immediately broke when I got it home. The staff is very nice, but some of the quality of their merchandise is total GARBAGE! My advice is to go to a more reputable place to buy your furniture.

I came here for some snow pants.they didn't have much in my size, but i did end up getting a new snowboard, bindings, and boots. Orlando was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! Prices were great! I would definitely recommend to a friend

Was renting skis for a child. Boots were beat up. Workers suggestions on ski length weren't open minded for speed or navigation, kept it very basic. If you looking for something specific, dont ask. Do your homework, then come in and demand.

Walked in to purchase ski's and snowboard's with all the gear for my family. Not one of the employees acknowledged us or ever offered help.
The employees were more interested in their cellphones than their customers. Glad to make our large purchases elsewhere.
