For parents of African American children, stay far away. Francis Otano who is "supposedly" administrative assistant is very rude, unprofessional, and Ghetto has no class nor concern for childrens emotional well being. Count your days ma'am

Hi! My granddaughter been attending sunshine for some time and I really appreciate how helpful the teachers and admin are. This is my first granddaughter and though my children went to preschool that was a long time ago so everything is fairly new. Admin have been great with helping me understand the 3k process. My granddaughter has learned so much here and she is so talkative and loves attending school here. My friends and family say how smart she is and I always brag about how much the school has helped I would recommend this school to others. Thank you so much Frances, Michelle and Sheila I appreciate you all. I'm happy for another year here with Sunshine.

This place should have a lot more 1 star reviews they keep taking them down some how. My niece went there did not have a good experience. When her mother writes a review they take it down. Parents beware.

My niece has been attending Sunshine since September 2019. I'm the one who usually picks her up at the end of the day since my sister works late. Every day she comes home smiling, and we have plenty of her art projects, and my sister loves the insta to see what kinds of things the school is doing! I've watched her grow so much from learning to walk, overcoming some speech issues, and now learning her colors! Currently I'm pregnant and have already spoken with the director Ms. Sheila about enrollment options for 2022. I couldn't see my child being at any other daycare! Ms. Sheila was easy-going, very understanding, and helpful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I hope this review can help another parent out, as there were no recent reviews when I signed my daughter up here. I wanted to love this learning center, but it just wasn’t a good fit for my family. I enrolled my daughter here at 2 months old, and she is 3 months and I have already pulled her out. So, for starters I didn’t get to meet her teacher/teachers as I was unable to view the daycare during business hours due to Covid precautions which I totally get-So I got a 10min look around if that. I felt uncomfortable not having a rapport with my daughter’s teacher (s). When I wrote on the app to check on her, I would sometimes have to call to see if everything is okay because hours would pass with no response. I am a working parent, a message is sometimes a lot easier than me stepping outside of work to call and check on my daughter, which would send me into a slight panic worrying if everything was okay. The director is okay, a little in-personable to me, Ms. Michelle has to be the best asset to this organization. Extremely personable and understanding. They do not allow strollers because of Covid which makes no sense to me, and is such an inconvenience to working parents. Literally they hand me my infant through the door while I struggle to get her carrier on in 100 degree weather. So in-personable. They also keep the center very cold, my daughter got sick there two times with a cold. I packed a sweater her last week and asked that it be put on everyday, I received a photo of her inside without it so clearly my request was disregarded. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this learning center for an infant. I worried about my daughter more than I didn’t while she was here. For $535 a week the service just didn’t cut it for me.

All my kids were here and now my youngest is here and I’m going to be so sad when he graduates because I love this school so much! I love the communication and the help that is provided to me on a daily basis. Thank you so much sunshine for my lovely experience!

My baby loves her school and so do I she has been there since she was 3 months old she is now 2 years old and she will stay there until she gets to pre K.

So I called I asked if there was a spot available the young lady on the phone tells me yes I asked can I please pick up the paper work after 5pm as I am working I here a man tell her NO ITS TOO LATE TO PICK UP PAPER AT THAT TIME. This was a total turn off because I called there 142nd street location and they said sure fine no problem we will be here. Now ik ecery location is different but geese I'm working be empathic to a parents situation but now I see how they treat the people that keep them in business. I would say customer service NEEDS WORK because b4 this I called and abundant amount of times to get answers to my questions. Needless to say they are disappointing.

If you very attractive don't worry about a daycare period unless you trust the people because I've noticed the ugly teachers will hate you so just imagine what your child is dealing with

Each morning when I drop off my child I know he is safe and will be supported throughout the day. The management team (Mr. Jesus, Ms. Samantha, and Ms. Elizabeth) are kind and inviting. Some teachers are warm and firm. And, even the maintenance staff has a repertoire with students. This daycare has nailed the "Fun Factor" -there is always a party, gift, or activity for children. They are also community oriented-they hold food drives throughout the year. My only wish is that the curriculum would be more exploratory. For example, if studying spiders, observing a real spider in captivity would be an example of exploratory learning. It also seems like they are closed at least a day a month-I guess the staff needs a break too. Overall, this is a great, affordable, supportive learning center. No need to drop a crazy amount of money for great care. Great daycare!

It'll be 1 year this week and we love Sunshine. The staff knows all the kids' names. Each month Sunshine has special activity for the kids and involve the families as much as possible. We were anxious about placing our babe in daycare but Sunshine made the transition easy and our babe is growing and learning. They incorporate developmental milestones as the kid moves up through the classes such as no pacifiers, drinking in sippy cups and eventually regular cups, etc. There are some inconsistencies with the "rules" (sick kids, lateness, etc) vs the handbook they give you but the staff is willing to talk it out and work with you. The hours are flexible and the price is fair for the quality of care. If my kid gets a bump or a small scratch I'm always notified with a call and an Incident Report. I also really like the daily and/or weekly status reports the teachers write up for my kid specifically.
