Morrisville is just simply a great place to go to school and make a honest living. The campus is changing and many new buildings and updating on the campus grounds.

Great college with professors who want to be in the classroom. Finally returning to in person teaching.

Review of some of the online classes taken
BSAD 140 – Doyle
No effort from the professor. Simply posted course material provided by the course book’s author. Questions were directly copied, and all found online. No personal flare was added to enhance the class. Just a cookie cutter class that was completed without the course material that was said to be necessary. I would feel ashamed collecting the money from teaching this class after simply pushing CTRL+C followed by CTRL+V. For being such a low-level class, it wouldn’t take much at all to make this a worthwhile class.

BSAD 310 – Turner
Another copy and paste class. All the way down to the Syllabus was copied from elsewhere. Nothing in this class was Turner’s own work, yet she would condemn a student if they reutilized 3 words in a row they saw in a textbook. Here is a snapshot from the Syllabus provided

The original author of this even put the section to be replaced in bold, yet this was missed. Great job!

BSAD 325: Scalzo
This class was overly easy to pass, and I may have spent an hour total in the book. The discussion questions are supposed to be due by Wednesday and responses by Sunday each week. The majority of students don’t have their discussion posted until Sunday, if at all. This makes it pretty difficult to have two responses in when due; except if I was to wait until the last-minute waiting for a student with substance to respond to. The homework is presented in a way that you can click each answer, try it, and if it’s wrong, try the next answer until you select the correct one and still get full credit. The professor puts zero effort into the quizzes. Every single question and answer set is copied straight from the authors text which means with a quick google search the answer is found. The professor has come up with a method of copying his old assignments and pasting them into the new semester. This is fine, and understandable… but at least fix the dates when you do it. When the due date is 6 months past, it’s pretty obvious. Make it at least look like you put 3 seconds of effort into this, it’s what we’re paying you for. Additionally, the professor is useless for online obedience; during team assignments any issues brought up with the participation of other team members is met with no actions, and the poor participation of the other members still shows up on the grade for me. What a poor job this professor has done. After speaking with others that have taken his class in-person, it seems like this isn’t an issue just with online teaching, but overall.

HIST 102 Hogle
I think this class out of all of them must be the biggest joke. I get it, this is a 100-level class… but the entire semester has 3 graded evolutions. 3 exams equally spaced throughout the semester. The class was supposed to be synchronous, but he decided to not do it, instead every class day he posts assigned readings, yet no way to monitor if the reading was completed. No short multiple-choice assignment, no short essays, nothing… just the three exams which appeared to be open book. The professor was overly politically biased which is evident of his author and question selection, which although passable was simply an annoyance for someone that doesn’t agree with their political beliefs. Then to top this majestic class off, the optional notebook was to be sent to this man’s personal residence, which doesn't seem very professional.

I love my drives up there however I do not like to come to the dorm & smell & see a fog of Marijuana where students should be focused on only thier education! Very disappointing!

I absolutely loved SUNY Morrisville, I graduated from here years ago with my associate degree in Hospitality; and I could tell you we all were like a big family including the teachers specially Dr Joan Johnson. We all cared for each other, helped each other, worked with each other not only as a team, or friends but more like family. I wouldn't change this experience for nothing, all my professors were caring and really had an interest in every one learning and play such a big and positive impact in our lives. The memories I have in Morrisville are really worth remembering, sharing and talking about. The staff in general were all very nice to us all. I didn't care how far I was from my real home because at the end of the day I made Morrisville my home.

Morrisville auxiliary corporation is one of the only reasons I can't rate this higher. They take over the campus charging young students inflated rates on everything while trapped in cow country with few other options to shop for needed supplies. However teachers are very nice and willing to help with any problems. This is a non profit organization being taken over by a for profit organization with little to no care for the students. Nothing but trees no where to get some food to eat. It's alright cause that is where my daughter is going to spend her next 4 years in school. Lol.
