Super 8 by Wyndham Newburgh/West Point Near Stewart Airport

Room smelled like smoke when I entered despite being a non-smoking room. No towels or washcloths in the room. Staff were unable to supply any and said I had to wait until 9am the next morning for housekeeping to arrive. I've never heard of a hotel that didn't have towels! I leave in the morning. It was just an overnight business trip, and I can't even get a shower in.

Never booking here again. Staff did not resolve any issues.

Arrived late after long drive. It’s little dark in parking lot area. Not enough lighting and no parking strips at entrance area parking lot. It was raining outside. Front desk clerk was very friendly and talkative. He gave us a room on first floor after I had mentioned being senior and and room was booked as AARP membership rate. Our room was not in great shape. A chair was used between our two beds as a telephone support! Electrical outlet nearby was without cover plate. It seemed that they painted the room but left this exposed to editing! Not safe to touch. In bathroom they had only one set of towels for a room booked to two persons. We had to walkover to frontdesk to get additional set of towels. Air conditioning system was off and it took while to cool of the room. The desk area was used to mount a TV basically leaving no room for use of out laptop. It was astonishing that no chair to seat down as only chair in the room was being used as a telephone support device. Shower in bathtub was adequate and there was plenty of hot water for us. In morning they served coffee / juice in pre packed container with snack bars. Just enough to get going. Room floors were of wood where surprisingly water condensed.as first we thought what’s that. May be outdoor weather and cold ground created condensation? They have electronic swipe cards which is now required in most franchised motels. Beds were comfortable and sheets were very smooth which gave a good nights rest.hence three stars.

I have stayed here before when in the area visiting family. Before we would rate it at 4 stars. Now a widower, I was traveling alone and discovered that this place was now so bad I can hardly even rate it at One Star. Furniture in disrepair; cockroaches; curtain rods falling of the wall; no reading lamps; desk chair falling apart; mattress showing signed of heavy use; hall carpets dingy and dirty; snack bar was woefully in adequate; breakfast was non-existence except for power bars and small containers of orange juice or apple juice. Sadly, I will not be staying here any longer when in the area.

Good enough. The bed made my back sore and the rooms are a little beat up but it's a decent hotel at a fair price. Lots of food locations near by. Parking is ample with semi spaces in the back. The staff were very nice. All in all I'd stay there again if I'm in the area but it isn't in my top 10.

This hotel wasn’t close to clean. We had to go to the front to ask for towels because there were none in the room. The hotel states it is non-smoking but smelled of stale smoke & our comforters had cigarette burns on it. To top it all off the air conditioner didn’t work & the front desk wouldn’t give us the fan they had. Only wanted us to move our two young kids at 4 in the morning, after our late check in, to another room or coming to check the air in that moment. Asked to hear from a manager or owner for a resolution & have yet to hear from someone. Attached some of the few photos taken.

What a dump. The furniture and carpets were stained, and the water in my bathroom sink trickled out, not hot water from the sink.
I would not recommend it.

This is an older property that is badly in need of updates and improvements. The rooms are acceptably clean, but the furniture in my room was worn and frayed, and the lampshades were cracked. There is no elevator in this two-story building, and there is no fire protection (sprinkler) system, something that is unacceptable in a hotel in this day and age.

Upon my check-in, I noted that there was just one bath towel and one washcloth in my bathroom; no bath mat or hand towels. When I tried to call the front desk to request those items, I found that the phone was disconnected.no cord. I called the hotel using my cell phone, and the desk clerk promised to take care of those things, but nothing was done about it.

Bottom line: Book a room here only if no other place in the area is available, and you don't want to sleep in your car.

Much like the other reviews have stated, this hotel is in desperate need of some updates to the rooms and overall look of the hotel. We needed a quick place to stay as we were in town for business. The rooms were ok, there seemed to be a musty smell everytime the AC was off, however the front desk very kindly provided air fresheners as I believe they are aware of the issue. The rating I gave was based mostly on the fact that the hotel is based quite conveniently in the city center and was walkable distance to various places to eat and places to shop. In addition, the customer service team was very kind and gave complimentary items as the rooms often lacked such items such as extra towels. The free breakfast is more grab and go but still suitable for travelers who are in transit and need something quick and warm to eat. Overall, not a bad place to stay if you need a quick place to lay your head.

Worst hotel ive ever been in
ive been in $30 a night hotels better than this.the room stunk, there were roaches coming out of the outlets when i plugged stuff into them, the staff wouldnt do anything about a car blaring its alarm all night so i got no sleep while there, and the outlet in the bathroom had a metal prong sticking out of it so that was an electical hazard i couldnt even use the outlets in the bathroom.stay clear of this joke of a hotel!

I try not to post negative comments because everyone has a bad day, but this hotel is literally falling apart and the smoking indoors was so excessive that the fire department came in the middle of night and had to enter each room to clear the alarm.

3 stars only because the staff is so good! You are right in the flight path 1 mile from the airport. Good news it seems no flights between 10pm-6 am!

So im going to start with cons since there are more than pros;

CONS

-Stains everywhere
-Ants EVERYWHERE in the room
-Some things didnt work (alarm clock and hair dryer)
-Low toilet and sink in the bathroom
-Tv remote turned on the tv but the cable box behind seemed to not work.

PROS
-Cheapest in the area
-Great location cause tons of stores and places to eat
-Friendly Staff

Me and my girlfriend stayed here over the weekend for 2 nights and the guy at the front desk was very nice and talkative. The room was a good sized with a king sized bed, sheets and everything looked cleaned and walking in and out we seen that they do clean thoroughly which is nice but the first things we noticed was a massive stain on the foot rest, a stain in the hallway, the alarm clock wasn't on and for a second i thought it was unplugged but the buttons were sticking and it didn't flat out didnt work. The Tv remote turned on the tv but there were no tv channels and the remote didn't look to do anything besides turn the tv on but i had my laptop and an Hdmi cable so that was our entertainment on the TV.

The Area has tons of stores and fast food spots so picking things up or breakfast, lunch or dinner isnt an issue which is really nice. Even a denny's in front so I'd recommend that for breakfast because the hotel only has a small grab and go area.

That first night getting food we discovered ant are EVERYWHERE! On the nightstands, tv stand, bathroom they tried getting in our bags, i was on the fence of giving it 3 or 2 stars total but the ants were the worst part of everything. We had a small mini fridge which was nice and a microwave and luckily (or we hoped) the ants werent inside.

Its in a nice area and cheap and its a dirt cheap hotel which is great but i cant really recommend it because the ants, broken items and stains. Im hopeful that every room wasnt like ours with stains, ants and broken stuff but its your decision if you wanna take the chance and get a nice cheap hotel room. But our experience is definitely a 2 star experience, the ants make it almost a 1 star but right now every other hotel is almost double price so thats what earned the extra star. The best way to describe our experience is you pay for what you get!

Worst hotel experience I have had in years. Dirty clothes from the previous tenant were in the bathroom, old food was in the fridge, the room smelled, the bed tilted to one side and there was no smoke detector. The manager moved us to another room, but it wasn't much better. Only stayed because the area hotels were sold out for West Point graduation weekend. Again, worst hotel experience I have had in many, many years.

Was a good value for the price. Beds were comfortable and heater was very good and very quiet! Plenty of food choices in the close proximity. Great night sleep.

I love this hotel I love staying here when I do have to stay here. I suggest there’s more security for the women who work at this location at night. The cameras need to work better for them so this way they can feel more safe and know who’s coming in and out of the establishment And also at the front desk it should be some sort of barrier between customer and employee besides the desk itself!
