Superior Management Inc. reviews
14I lived in one of superior's buildings for four years and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. The building was exceptionally well-maintained, and whenever there was a problem they were on it immediately. We recently had to break our lease (for work) and they were immensely understanding about the whole thing and worked with us during the difficult weeks that followed. Immensely impressed with how fair they were throughout our tenancy; it's completely the opposite of what I've come to expect from NYC landlords.
We have had a homeless, aggressive, alcoholic man living inside our property for over one week and notified Superior Management several times to help us with a solution. All they have done is raised my rent to nearly 4K for a small one bedroom apartment while this homeless man throws bottles of alcohol at my head every night. Completely insane they do not care about their residents.
You couldn't as for better that Superior Management. I lived in one of their buildings for 1+ years (I could have stayed there for the rest of my days if I wasn't moving countries) and I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to call that corner of the city home. Eli is a phenomenal broker, Dan was super helpful when my security deposit got lost in the mail (they returned in full), and Zade always helped when there was a maintenance request. Their office is just around the corner in the village and they always get back to me within 24 hours via phone/email. They even extended my lease a bit so that I could stay in the city longer before moving AND reimbursed me when I replaced my window AC unit that died. I cried on the way home after submitting my non-renewal, not kidding. This is not sponsored, and I'm not being bribed- I just wanted to say thank you and pay homage to Superior. You guys are the best.
I have lived in their brooklyn building for 4 years and have had such a great experience with them. I am so sad to leave this wonderful building that I call home, where I made great friends with my neighbors. I always spoke to Adam from management and he is such an awesome and friendly landlord. They were very prompt to answer whenever I had an issue. And Adam was kindly able to extend my lease before I could move into the new co-op that I am purchasing.
I also have to give great praise to their superintendent Johnny. He goes above and beyond whenever I needed help for anything. He is a great man and I consider him family.
Another winter without consistent HEAT unless I use my split system in the AC (my electric bill). Another year of leaks and water stains. Will this ever be addressed professionally? The civil head of the Board, Angus Has Left the Building. His remarks were I almost deserve it for living there. He and His wife now live out here, Bellport Long Island? Where I have my weekend home well managed. This has gone on far too long especially with John, the former maintenance man, who has told me repeatedly, there is nothing to be done AND he could not fix the problems. I find it strange that when I do complain to Roberto, our acting manager, he will give a little building heat (steam) if I beg. R Stephen Seibt, PH-C
Very professional management company. The office is always responsive to issues and easy to work with.
They are a very efficient management company. They always reply to me on time and if something happens they actually show interest to solve any issue as soon as possible… can’t complain!
I've had a great experience living in a building managed by Superior for the past 2 years! The team is extremely nice and reasonable to work with when it comes to signing and negotiating apartment leases, especially during the pandemic. Especially appreciate the quick response to maintenance requests.
Superior Management representatives have always responded to any inquiries or requests in a timely and professional manner. As long-term tenants in one of their buildings, we benefitted from excellent service, timely maintenance, and great communication at all times.
We had a positive experience living at one of their managed properties in the West Village for two years. Most notably, the team was highly responsive to any questions/requests regarding our apartment. My roommate would send an email (often to Zade on the management team, specifically) if we encountered any issues with appliances or the shower and we almost always heard back within ~24 hours. Even if the plumber or handyman could only swing by a couple days later, it was nice to get in touch with someone immediately, schedule a time, etc.
Fantastic management company. Very responsive with any questions or issues with the apartment. Kept the building in great shape, and were very courteous and professional throughout our entire rental tenure. Highly recommend!
I see some mixed reviews on here, but I have to say that my experience with Superior / the Nagin family was a positive one. They were always responsive to emails.and calls, too (which I've never had in a management company in NYC). When the handy man was needed, they were always there the same day of the request. We had issues with heating, and they put in a new heater. Later, I subletted my place, and had a handful of issues with my subletters, and a member of the Nagin family personally walked over to the apartment to investigate and follow-up with me. I recognize that nothing is perfect, but I'd take this company over all the others I've had living in the Burroughs.
The apartment was well maintained and management was responsive to repairs. They always came on the same day that we called and managed to do the job quickly and efficiently.
I do not on any terms recommend renting from here. The owner family is a bunch of slumlords. At the end fo the day, they are only looking out for themselves. While living in a gramercy apartment for 2.5 years, we had a flood in the downstairs bedroom, a mice infestation for over a month and a ceiling fall in resulting in a huge hole from a leak upstairs, leaving the only shower for two tenants unusable for over a week. The company did not compensate us for the ceiling fall in and was threatening to take us to court if we did not pay rent, which we wanted to withhold due to the damages not being taken care of swiftly. Not only that, during move out, the painters stole property from the tenants and management could not have cared less.
Pros: Did not raise rent terribly YOY and have good locations across the city
Cons: On Site Super does nothing and not responsive to calls and text. Management does not take care of their tenants when crisis hit at management fault. Owners/family Nagin family only care about keeping dollars in their pockets and could not care less about the wellbeing of those renting from them. Do not give your $ to these people like I did for 18 months. You always think that these things won't happen to you (the flood, mice and ceiling leak) but then they do, and you can't help it. But the person you think will at least be on your side is not. The Nagin (Jonathan and Adam) family is TRASH.
