Cafe Supper reviews
16 Came here for Sunday dinner walk-in.
Black kale salad was delicious- with finely shredded kale and light dressing
The veal Milanese was pounded pretty thin and a bit greasy, not a crisp outside that you can hear if you run a fork over it.
Beef tartare if a special on the white truffle menu- perfectly standard and good texture.
Short rib tortellini is the Sunday special and very good.
Decent quality, but not worth going out of your way, or waiting hours (compared to other restaurants in the area). Cash only!
I used to be a regular at this place when it opened 20 years ago - the food is still top notch, but the service at dinner last night left room for improvement - brusk and hasty, even though the guys are all very sweet.
I had the best dining experience of my life at Supper. Sat at the bar and everyone from the bus boys to the chefs were so friendly and attentive. The food was top notch and the drinks were great.
Cozy, warm space with super tasty food. A little on the pricier side (and cash only) but impeccable vibes, amazing service and great for a casual stop by.
Mushrooms on toast has absolutely no business being this good; but here we are.
This place came recommended by our locals friends and they did not miss. Crazy delicious. Awesome service. Great experience.
Don’t skip the mushroom crostini, seriously.
Absolutely the best Italian food I have ever had! This place is the best. Staff are amazing and friendly. The restaurant has multiple funky rooms with a great vibe. The Spaghetti al Limone is incredible. Tiramisu definitely recommended. My new favorite restaurant in NYC.
The place has character, is warm, the staff is efficient the service was quick, the choice is limited but the food was good, the place would need a bit of more light on the tables, to appreciate best the presentationof the dishes. It was quite noisy but we enjoyed.
One of the best Italian restaurants in the city, along with its sister restaurant Frank. I’ve had many dishes here and all have been fantastic. I especially love the bolognese, the fettuccine with butter, the brunch and their desserts. Cash only. Can get very busy on weekends.
I'm sorry to say it's not the same supper as it used to be. The good fun and great wait staff.
The bad: the food. Large portions of mostly just mediocre food. I wonder if the chef would eat what he/ she made. Maybe we went on an off night. May try again for old time sakes.
Supper is our "must-go" restaurant each time we're in NYC. Service and food are both excellent and consistent. We strongly recommend checking this place out. Take advantage of the daily specials and order several dishes for the table to share. Just note the restaurant is cash only, but you can order a gift card using a credit card on their website online. There's also an ATM on site.
The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The classic rock they were playing was off-putting and just didn't fit the otherwise fine dining ambiance. I like me some classic rock, but there were some really really bad songs!
10/10 a cute little spot in the LES, I was greeted and served by Diego, I had the salmon with lentils (as a person thats not a lentil fan I really enjoyed them) with a side of mash and a mimosa.it was extremely delicious, you get some beans and bread while you wait, it's really worth the trip!
We went for dinner and we're not disappointed. I had the gnocchi pesto and a paloma. Service was top notch. They were friendly. I would recommend you try it. The establishment is cash only.
Was recommended this place and it did not disappoint. If it weren't for the patio seating, I would probably have walked right by it. Bring cash as it is cash only. Great Negroni, solid pasta dishes, we didn't manage to finish the priest stranglers cause it was sooo much food.
Our meal was pretty good. The complementary bread with white beans in olive oil was really good. My veal Milanese was kind of plain, and the salad that it came with was very sharp and bitter. Chicken Parmesan was relatively good. Both meat cutlets were extremely thin. Even though I was not blown away, the meal was still pretty good, and I would eat here again to explore their pasta options.
