I do not recommend this shop. I did a lot of research finding an eyewear shop in New York since I was going to visit. I'm from Charleston. I guess I should have paid better attention to the customer in the chair beside me having issues with them while I was there. They were helpful in picking out my frames. I was under the impression I was having sunglasses made. I was told they would be progressive. I didn't realize that I didn't know what that meant til they were shipped to me. When I put them on, I couldn't see without blurriness and being dizzy AND they had clear lenses. I stated AGAIN that these were to be sunglasses and sent a note supporting that. I called them and was told to return them. I got them back today. I can see out of them, but still have clear lenses. I thought maybe they put transition lenses in them even though I was told the frame wouldn't look good with them. They've been sitting in the sun still having clear lens.so not even transition. No apology note, no SUNglasses, no refund (as I requested) for not having progressive lenses, AND I had to pay to return them to them. Very regretful experience. Hmmmmmmm.yep, buyer beware.

Oleg the owner and his staff are incredibly professional. They take the time to find the right eyewear for me and are honest when they think something won’t work. They take the initiative to explain why. Because I love what I purchase with the collaborative help of Oleg and his staff, I am a repeat customer.

It is refreshing that they do not hard-sell their goods unlike other optical stores, which would push the highest priced product even if it isn’t right for me —- all just to make a sale.

Last December I decided to retire and reinvent myself.which meant new glasses. A friend was adamant that I had to go Surreal Eyewear for an image update. Lala Hajer curated my options and I came away with a pair of their one-in-a-kind frame. The result.at least 100 strangers have complimented me on how great my glasses are. So be forewarned.at 69 my life has changed forever due to my new found frame/fame. Be forewarned that if you can't handle constant compliments and adulation than Surreal may not be your cup of tea

Walked in with a pair of sunglasses that lost a screw so one of the legs was off, guys replaced them and also readjusted them and didn’t even want any payment for it! Absolute stars, thank you so much.

Dope a** frames with a wide spectrum of styles and color palettes. Hajer was exceptional in her style suggestions and consultation with frame selection. Very pleased with my selection.

I have been going to Surreal Eyewear for over 7 years now, and I am incredibly happy to be shopping here. I have always worn eyeglasses, and I have never liked wearing them - that is, until I found Surreal Eyewear. Flashforward, I now own 37 eyeglasses, all purchased at Surreal. I have been getting my eyeglasses at Surreal Eyewear for as long as I can remember. 20 years? More? And over those years I wouldn't think of even looking anywhere else.
Buying glasses has never been easier. The associates, who are all top notch, pulls open drawers and puts the glasses on a tray and bring them over for you. Each pair of glasses is better that the prior pair. The hardest part of the whole process is deciding which pair to purchase. I've left there more than once buying multiple pairs.
