Sushi Ginza reviews
14Ordered sushi and some appetizers. Gyoza were fine. Sushi rolls on the other hand very tasteless. 1 item came wrong, instead of wagyo roll I received a crab tacos. I don't like crab! For the price there's better places.
My Mom loves sushi and she came to visit. I’m on a budget and it’s been awhile since I’ve had sushi. As luck would have it, this lovely restaurant had opened up right across from the TJ Maxx on 1st Ave where she likes to shop when she comes to visit. We looked inside and the decor was lovely, and there were quite a few Asian people like us, especially behind the counter. The menu was good, the specialty rolls were like nothing I’ve had anywhere else. Absolutely delicious. Our waitress Jessi was so polite, helpful and attentive. I’m so happy I was able to take my Mom to a lovely and affordable Sushi dinner.
FANTASTIC FOOD DRINKS MUSIC & MOST OF ALL SERVICE. Great prices for good food and great service is all I need to say; My Experience here was incredible. I will always keep coming back:
The food is fresh and well executed. Perfect spot to dine alone, with friends or a date. The staff / manager were so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
We have walked past this restaurant for a few weeks and finally decided to check out the menu. We were greeted with friendly staff and decided to stay.
The sushi and warm appetizers were excellent. The menu is diverse without being overwhelming. The drinks were great. However,
What stood out the most was the impeccable service. We felt attended to without being annoyed. When we were finished with our meal we had half glasses of wine left and the server actually acknowledged that we were taking our time with the wine and said she would come back later with the check. It was so refreshing to have a dinner that was not rushed.
We will absolutely return!
Low quality & oldish fish on these sushi rolls — and that’s really too bad — esp given the great location & decor
I wish I could give 6 stars.
I had to change my dinner plan and was able to easily make a reservation for a table for 1 at around 8pm on a sunday. The place was busy and (as i learned) for good reason. Every second of my dining experience here was impeccable. From the server who was very nice and very quick, to watching the manager both greet and thank everyone in and out of the restaurant. As for the food? Absolutely fantastic sushi. Even if the service was terrible i would go back for the food. Great job. I will be back as often as humanly possible.
Amazing new neighborhood spot. Food is fresh and great, staff is very kind, ambiance on point, and the owner Tom is the definition of hospitable. A new favorite regular for me.
The food itself is mediocre but acceptable but the prices are far higher than comparable sushi restaurants.
Amazing food and friendly service with great outdoor seating. Saved under favorites for when I'm back in NYC! Thank you for great sushi!
Upscale yet homey atmosphere. Appetizers, entrees, service- impeccable and drinks- delicious!
Highly suggest the Zen Garden as a cocktail, fried rice, and any of the special sushi rolls. The scallop crudo and hand rolls were very fresh. Not to mention Tom is the best!
Great place that just recently opened.
Everything in general was fine, only the waiter mixed up the order and brought not sashimi, but sushi fish on rice. But we did not ask to be redone.
But the fish they forgot about brought in exactly the version that we originally wanted.
We ordered:
Miso soup, portions are small. The soup itself is delicious, as I used to)
The spicy tuna with avocado was great, but too much mayonnaise.
Escalopes were wonderful. With a slight hint of spiciness.
They ordered different sashimi: hedgehog, eel, caviar, tuna, salmon, shrimp, and also a special part of salmon.maybe I forgot to list something else, but you can see everything in the photo.
Overall the food was delicious, fresh, the service was quick and polite.
I love new places, neat and clean toilets. And good service.
With the discovery of you!
Downgraded for inattention.
Best restaurant in NYC so far and best for Japanese culinary in my whole life. I will come back soon.
Can’t say enough about this place. I would recommend it to anyone who wants anything from comfort food style teriyaki to elevated sushi and hand rolls and high quality one of a kind cocktails. Tom the owner and creator of the cocktail menu is a blast and great at what he does and Brian was an amazing bar tender. I’m scared about how busy this place is going to get.
