Sushi Yasuda reviews
13My girlfriend and I each had the 12-piece omakase at the bar and it was outstanding. Worth the price for sushi lovers. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special but very clean and minimalist. Excellent service. Minus one star because the menu was on a QR code.
Very nice sushi omakase. We tried the 15 courses and all of the fish we really fresh and well presented. I only didn’t like the oyster, too slimy for me but our friends did enjoyed very much. The atmosphere is really nice, the sushi chef who was in charge of us made a really good effort in explaining us all of the courses.
Lived in Japan for a while, their restaurants and places to eat are always top notch. I look forward to dining here. Tipping is such a barbaric practice.
The most beautiful place in the world to have sushi. And the fish is absolutely the right temperature and so fresh! A New York City cannot miss destination.
Came for the omakase, definitely a mistake. You can get better omakase for half the price at numerous other places in the city
Service was great as to be expected. We did the omakase menu but the sushi rice was a bit too salty and the nigiri always felt like it was about to fall apart midway as I was picking it up from the service plate.
Service comes and goes. What about food? I understand the price because it's New York.
Great experience at Yasuda! We loved the oyster sushi, scallops sushi and ebi sushi the most. Will definitely come back again.
LIVE PARASITIC WORM FOUND IN FISH
We got the market price omakase, and things started out well. But on our first dish with sashimi, I found a LIVE parasitic worm in my sardines still wriggling around. I picked it up with my chopsticks to inspect it and then showed the sushi chef, who took it away, killed it, apologized and took the sardines away.
At this point we're of course a bit uncomfortable, but we continued to enjoy our meal which was delicious but maybe not worth the price tag.
Before we paid, I grabbed our wait staff to tell her about the parasitic worm as at this point I'm surprised that nobody from the establishment has come to talk to us about it except for the initial apology from the sushi chef. Our waitress acknowledged it and just said she'd let "them" know and left. The chef then again apologized and let us know that they did not charge us for the sardines.
I expected better handling of this situation given that they're a Michelin establishment, but it was extremely disappointing. We're made to feel like getting a live parasite inside your fish is no big deal when personally it was extremely unnerving. Oh they did give us some shrimp heads on the house, but I don’t know if it was supposed to be a gesture for the worm or not.
Without the worm incident, food quality for the price was probably 4/5.
By far one of the best Japanese restaurants in town - every time I come to NY I try and go and it never disappoints. Excellent.
Good Omakase, though far from perfect. A weird sitting arrangement, quite honestly, in a back room, which might be more suitable to serve as a private room.
If this place has a Michelin star, then Mojo, for example, should have two.
Authentique Sushi by Japanese chefs. The best in NY! Sides are variated and amazing. Must go
While I can't say anything bad about the place for the price ($800 for three of us), there is far better sushi in the city.
