Swallow Hollow reviews
12Nice trail. Wood deck and gravel trail. I've seen more wildlife at the nearby Kanyoo Nature Trail.
Great nature trail, be forwarned though, this is a swap, so do not forget your extra strength bug spray, they will bite through clothes, mosquitoes that is.
Other then the bugs this is a flat and wide trail with a long boardwalk over the swaps.deer, water birds, snakes, bees all can be seen here
Live not far away from here have came here most of my life for nature walks with family and friends.
The hiking trail is well maintained, and has a boardwalk for quite a bit when you first enter from the parking lot. We had bugs chasing us for the majority of the time. Mostly mosquitoes. Even being coated in bug spray, I got bit at least a dozen times. Other than one grey squirrel, we didn't see any other wildlife. I would recommend other trails in the refuge
As a birder it's fantastic.great variety singing. The boardwalk is great & well maintained.it takes a hour to drive here or would be here constantly.
It is a very informative walk that can be used as a sience Field Trip for those that are home schooled and public schools it can be done six feet apart because it is outside
It's always lovely to take my family there for walks through the woods. Today, we saw a beaver, field mice swimming and all sorts of birds. My daughter enjoyed playing on the fell trees in the pinewood section. Nice place for a picnic in certain areas of the trail. It's great that they have signs about the wildlife that teaches people about what they may see and what you look for.
Very small but super nice! This is a loop type of trail and is mostly boardwalk type structure. Definitely going back in the spring and summer to see everything alive.
They have multiple different areas where you can park your vechile for free and walk around. The nature trails are beautiful. Some are more nautralbthan others, one is some what like a "cat-walk"/ pier and is very nice over a mile in distance. It's a "carry in, carry out" park and there are no restrooms here. Great for individuals, families and dogs
Nice place. Sad experience. Thought I started something nice. Turns out its heartache. Wonder if she's still around.
Scary though, didnt think the wildlife refuge would have hunting allowed. I'll be waiting till after hunting season to return
