A group of 4 of us went to tamarind for dinner. We sat outside in one of the booths, which was pretty cool. The drinks are very good and the food was tasty. We enjoyed the chicken biryani and we had a really spicy chicken curry which was very tasty.

I have been to Tamarind several times over the years. However, this particular time, the quality of the place seemed to have gone down. My daughter and I had to wait for a while for the receptionist to show up before we were seated. She was nice though. The cutlery and glasses needed to be changed as they weren't washed well. The food itself did not disappoint. The service was pretty good. My daughter complained about the chicken being dry and our waitress immediately replaced it. I hope the issue with the cutlery was a one off incident and not a sign of slipping quality.

Food was very bland. We ordered bhindi curry and the bhindi was not cooked well.
For the price of the menu you are better off eating elsewhere.

Went for Saturday lunch for the restaurant week meal. Service was amazing, so is the ambiance however the food very disappointing. The food was below average it was tasteless and seemed like mass-produced like something you would get at a wedding. I would never go to this restaurant again. It was a waste of my time and my money

We have been to this Tamarind few years ago couple of times. Food was good then, now I heard they lost their star, but still decided to try thinking it can’t be that bad. We are a vegetarian family, and unanimously the agreement was the food was bad, we could not finish the vegetables we ordered. It tested bad. I can’t speak to the non-veg dishes but the veg gravy dishes we ordered were bad. On top of that the naan was burnt. Spent your money somewhere else.

For me, this is one of the top 3 fine dine Indian restaurant in NYC!

Love the ambiance. The food is just great - so Authentic. The quantity is good too. I loved the cocktails with Indian twist.

If I have to recommend a few things, they are:

Malai Naan
Hara Bhara Kebab
Tamarind Margarita

I could have done with a li’l better service though. It was pretty lousy for me but the great food made up for it ️

Really good food and service. Reservations are definitely recommended. The complimentary puff pastry with yogurt tamarind raita was delicious. The Hara Bhara Kababs were huge and so was the Tandoori Subz platter. The Nargisi Kofta had a lot of spices in it. The naan is well made. Plenty of amazing vegetarian/vegan options to choose from. The Gajrela dessert was melt in the mouth. Great place to have dinner in the Tribeca area.

Definitely one of the top Indian restaurants in NYC! It’s a very beautiful restaurant, the ambience and decor is pretty modern yet Indian. Ofcourse the food is delicious. The complimentary puff pastry and yogurt is yummy. Hara bhara kebabs taste really fresh. Vegetarian Tandoor platter is unique. Portions size of starters is big, so unlike us, you might wanna think before you order. Nargisi Kofta was good with butter Naans, the complexity of the flavours used were a little on the higher side for me. Gajrela with icecream was the perfect ending to our dinner night. Menu at Tribeca has tried to include the infinite flavours of India in most compact way possible and I really appreciate that. Highly recommend reservations. The service is great, can be a little quick but it’s very much understandable on a busy night! Goes without saying, it’s a paradise for vegetarians.

The ambience was great and we were able to get a table on the spot in the lounge area without a reservation. Ordered Amrus (non-alcoholic), Rajkachori, lachha parantha, dum gobhi (cauliflower) and paneer (cottage cheese) for the table. The drink was good and the right amount of sweet. Some gobhi was cooked, some wasn't. The paneer was alright.

Our vegetarian friend recommended this place, not because we are vegetarians, but because we would love the rich variety of the menu. Definitely ecumenical, and really nice location. Service perfect. I loved the onion flat bread!

Great Indian restaurant. The service was great and the food is delicious. We tried the vegetarian samosa for an appetizer and split two dishes of lamb biryani and chicken korma. For dessert we had the classic gulab jamun with ice cream on the side. Everything was made to perfection!

Food is great. Waiter was very nice and professional. However; a place this nice and delicious should be staffed to serve their customers. I’m shocked at how few staff they have working on a Friday night. To ownership, please sort this out as I’d love to come back, but can’t commit to waiting over an hour and a half for food!

What a beautiful experience! We got married a day before so we mentioned at reception.we were put in a 2 seater table for 2 mins and then the manager came to us and offered us a private huge booth! It was soo sweet, we loved the privacy, the food was exquisite and excellent! The drinks were so tasty and extremely potent that we couldn’t finish until the end! The dessert came with a congratulations chocolate and a candle! The server remembered the entire time and even congratulated us in the end too! A heart warming experience and just what we needed as our first date as husband and wife! Thank you Tamarind!

Classy and upscale location with elegant ambience. The interior and atmosphere inside makes you feel so happy. Staffs are very welcoming and follow covid protocols. We had the executive lunch and thought it was a great value for money.

Excellent Indian food but don't order the staples, get their modern takes that you don't see at normal Indian restaurants. That's what I did the first few times I went and had a great experience. This last time, I ordered takeout and was curious how they do the staple dishes like saag paneer, chicken tikka masala (ordered just the sauce), and dal makhni. All were decent but none outstanding and you can get equivalent dishes for half the price at your corner Indian restaurant.

This was a solid Indian place. Their menu is unique and the quality is pretty decent. Actually loved the dessert, the most a unique twist on traditional desserts.

I’m sorry this restaurant is not meant for Indian Indians. Whoever rated high for this restaurant have surely not eaten good Indian food. Authenticity in taste isn’t the problem as I have eaten and appreciated Indian food made in the Continental style too. We unanimously agree that this experience was not nearly worth it for the willfully obtuse price of literally every food item on their menu. Another reason not to go back to an Indian place in Manhattan.

Booked a reservation over a day in advance and when we showed up we were refused indoor seating. We were flexible and willing to wait 30mins-1hr for indoor seating. However, the man at the front was rude and refused to give us a table. We have been to this restaurant many times before, but after this terrible customer service unsure if we will return.
