Taste of India, located at 287 New Dorp Lane in Staten Island NY 10306 offers you a wide range of authentic Indian cuisines. Prices are competitive, and the food is excellent compared to any other Indian restaurant in Staten Island. The spice level can also be changed on request to suit your liking. Placing an order online is not difficult either. The staff gives you the necessary attention and importance regardless you dine in or takeout!

Picked up the Naan Chicken Kati Roll from the lunch special and it tasted delicious! Great portion for the price and I was a fan of the sauces they provided with it. I'll definitely be ordering from here again

Ate here for the first time (after knowing about it for years) based on all the good reviews, and wow! The restaurant itself was very cozy without having everyone on top of each other, the staff was incredibly attentive and the food was excellent. Nothing came out too slowly OR too quickly, and the prices were reasonable. Definitely the best Indian food I've had on the island! Can't wait to come back.

I visited this restaurant several times and they have decent India food and amazing naan bread. Unfortunately on this particular visit I was charged $4.50 for a CAN of sprite. The menu stated it was $2.95 which is already ridiculous but I was willing to pay it. When I got the check I asked if it was a mistake and the manager was immediately rude and ready to argue as he showed me the fine print on the menu that said prices vary. I was told “to-go can sodas are $2.95 but that same can is $4.50 for dine-in orders”. I was also told on this same visit that “outside drinks weren’t allowed” when my guest brought in a soda from a local store. However the customers at the table next to me came in with a bubble tea from another restaurant and no one said anything to them. I am not one for using the race card ever, but my experience was awful and I left feeling treated badly. I won’t be back.

This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to! I’ve been going here for years (before the renovation) and it is absolutely amazing. I moved to NJ and I come back to Staten Island just to come here every few weeks! The food is always amazing, flavorful, fresh, hot. The staff are always friendly and patient. The food is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for…I would eat here everyday if I could. Absolutely delicious

Really overpriced. Lamb chops are $27 for about 5 small pieces. Really small portion. It was average at best definitely not worth the price per chop. Prices should definitely be cut down. Having an appetizer + Entree is looking generally about $25-40 per person. Ordering online must be terrible. Small portions for the cost and probably tastes worse than visiting if it gets cold from the delivery time. Other than the food quality the staff were friendly and answered most of our questions and the environment was clean and nice.

The only thing I have tried from this place is the chicken biryani. It is one of the best I have ever had so I don’t even care to try anything else off the menu because it is the only thing I want and constantly crave. I wish I knew what part of India their biryani is based off of or the specific name of the chicken biryani because there are so many different variations of this dish.

Chef's biryani is heavy meaty mess with no spices or flavors.just a blanket of expired ingredients that sat all day in a crockpot.this is not Indian cuisine at all. I feel sorry for the locals that eat here I truly do.the eggplant and lamb is also disappointing considering the price.
I've eaten biryani from Street stands that makes this food taste like taco bell in comparison.literally anyone can cook a far superior biryani with fresh sliced ingredients in 5 minutes.the cooks at Taste of India II do not care and it is obvious in the sub par quality of the below mediocre food.my first and last order good grief that is very bad indian food.no colors or spices.just brown sadness.eat at your own risk and tell me I'm wrong. I dare you. I'm going back to my secret Manhattan biryani street vendor and giving him a big hug tomorrow.life is not fair!

I gave come here many many times and I love it this is my go to restaurants in this area the lunch is excellent also I ordered a shrimp dish and I requested the tails to be removed and they did so without a hitch and the wait staff is always very polite and accommodating. I love the different kinds of Naan bread. The only thing is I wish they would expand on the dessert menu to include a chocolate cake or a carrot cake or some kind of cake option.

The food was okay, service was good but we were really upset that the restaurant charges a credit card fee without clearly informing the customer first. We received our check and had no issue with our total, however, once the card was charged and returned we were charged more than our original total. It’s not honest service and staff should inform customers of the increased charge BEFORE charging. If we knew about the additional 4% fee, we would have paid cash. Unprofessional and will not be returning for this reason.
And yes, they do have a tiny note on the bottom of the menu about card processing fees, but does not state percentage of fee. This is misleading, not clear, or honest.

The food and service were fantastic. They poor very short cocktails, but I forgot that is typical in an Indian restaurant. I will definitely go back.
