Ten Ren's Tea Time, New York NY

We got the jasmine milk tea with bubbles and had some mixed feelings about it - mostly because we got it with 50% sugar thinking it would still be pretty sweet but it wasn’t. Probably would go back and get at least 75% sugar. The boba was ok but nothing spectacular. The tea was good though.

The boba here is excellent (texture and flavor), and the tea itself is high quality/delicious as well.

I was wondering in the crazy summer heat so the fruity tea iced smoothie from this place was the refreshing break I needed. I would return and try the herbal tea flavors. They also have a selection of real, quality tea leaves from Asia here if you want to buy tea.

I used to buy so many cases of their Jasmine Tea and my customers love the jasmine aroma so much. However, I bought 3 cases from their Flushing store, no jasmine aroma coming out of the tea anymore so I called the store and the lady on the phone literally just told me: ”If you don’t like it, don’t buy it from us, I have another customer to take care of. ”” What a customer service after I went there for almost five years for the same tea for my restaurant. Very disappointing.

First time and glad I got a chance to try it. It was refreshing and the store had a lot of selections.

If you want to know the most authentic tea’s, this is the only place in NYC that can give you the experience. I’m not referring to the bubble tea store. I’m talking about the tea shop right next door - Ten Ren Tea House.

In my opinion they have one of the finest selections of tea. I’m not concerned about the drinkable items. More so tea and tea pot selections

The tea selection here is pretty incredible! So many great selections. So many medicinal teas. I bought some pu-ehr. But this may be a cultural thing but the customer service here is awful. I realize that because of Covid you don’t allow people to smell your teas but no one, including some workers were not wearing masks. So I asked to smell my tea. I only wanted some put on my hands, crush it and smell that it was the real thing. I think that is reasonable to ask. But the lady taking care of us was so rude. Maybe a cultural thing but I didn’t like it.

The staff is not very welcoming. Ordered the standard milk tea (Small $5.50 incl tax). Boba pearls were very chewy. Actual tea was good. Cup lids were elevated from the cup, not the usual sealed plastic, which avoided the stabbing/splash zone problem.

10 rents started the bubble tea craze. Still a solid place with a great selection of teas. Names I can pronounce and stuff I never taste but the ones I like I really like a lot they do them well and they do them quickly. A definite must for bubble tea lovers.

I used to love TenRen from many different places.

The TenRen here is a big disappointment.

1. Taro Milk Tea
2. King’s Milk Tea
3. Matcha Milk Tea

All 3 glasses are VERY watery. No taste of the tea, taro or Matcha at all. Never had such a big disappointment from TenRen before. Beware!

The drink was ok, while I ordered a boba I thought that it was going to be the plastic cup, you know for the photo hahaha but I would like to give props to the cashier guy that was in a very great mood and happy:)

The drinks are not that good but i felt bad for the staff because he was working by himself
