Shopped at The Bicycle Planet a few times now, over the past five years or so. Consistently solid sales service - attentive, patient, honest & not pushy. I haven't had work done there so can't speak to that, but all my interactions with TBP have been chill. I used to live closer, but I think I might go out of my way to continue being a TBP client, they are good eggs. Loving my new Specialized bike!

The Bicycle Planet is a top-notch bike shop. Alex (service manager) and Evan (store manager) are some of the most hard-working, experienced and knowledgeable mechanics in the business. Recently, I brought in my new road bike for service. Evan did an excellent job building the bike from top to bottom with new components. Alex finished it off with adjusting the gears to perfection. Thank you so much guys! I'm a very happy camper. If you're in the market for a new bike, cycling products or service, don't hesitate to visit the Bicycle Planet.

The most frustrating group of people I’ve ever worked with. They can’t even get me a simple axel replacement for my mountain bike, which I bought from them. They were dismissive, angry and entirely unprofessional. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

Evan, Alex and crew were awesome. I had service done to my bike and ended up picking up a bike for my wife. Very knowledgeable people and no pressure.

I've been shopping at Bicycle planet since they were located on Jericho turnpike. They will and always have been my go to local bike shop. Dan, Evan, Alex, Jae and Donte are all experts in what they do. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They will go above and beyond to make sure that your bike is taken care of ASAP with top notch skills. Since moving to Queens, I still drive 30 minutes to have our bikes serviced here. If I had the ability to give each employee 5 stars I would.

Was my first time, and no regrets! Alex checked my daughter’s bicycle and runs smooth. Was quick and efficient. Highly recommend!

I went to Bicycle Planet to look for a short travel full suspension xc bike. 4/9/2022
I was greeted by a few salesman and later the owner, Howard. Super nice guy and great inventory. I test rode two bikes that they adjusted to fit me and set the tire pressure to what I was used to running. I wanted to buy a bike but they just didn’t have it in the model I wanted. We discussed upgrades as an option. The only problem was that the industry can’t provide the bikes to these guys fast enough.
Great shop, bought a bike years ago from here. I will keep an eye out on their website.

Service and parts department is outstanding. Very helpful and they stock a lot of parts. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Place is very clean. A+

This a serious bike shop for real rider but all bike riders are welcome anything you need or anything you’re looking they have it or can get within a week this shop is magical very well worth the trip pricy but worth the investment you’re getting the best of the best when you come here.

Was thinking about getting back into mountain biking. I went to a bunch of shops to talk to some people and see what has changed. Wow a lot changed. Hardest part is that most places didn’t have any inventory. Then I walked in to bicycle planet for the first time in my search. Not only did they have bikes they actually let my hop on and ride them. I got a good education and then had to really decide how crazy I wanted to get. I decided I really wanted a specialized stumpjumper. Now my heights fits into 2 bike sizes. Everybody I asked for advice on line had different opinions. So I called bicycle plant and spoke to Evan told him what I was looking for and he said I had 1 size built and the other in stock. He said I’ll have it built for me. I have him my number and before the day was up he called and told me the bike was built. I couldn’t get there for 2 days because of work. I finally came in and he had it on the side waiting for my. Now with an inventory shortage where so stores have no bikes he held a bike with no money from me without asking. I rode both bikes going back and forth a few times and found my size. Now this sport got way more expensive then I thought it would be so dropping money that some people spend on a car is a big decision. I told him I had to really think this out. He said I will hold the bike for you for a few days. I didn’t even have to give a deposit. That’s pretty good service. Needless to say I came back that night and bought it. The help set my up and dial the bike in for my size and gave me confidence that I have a shop I can trust and have my back with such a large investment. Thanks again Evan.

If I could leave zero stars, I would.have never encountered such elitist and rude treatment in my life. My husband and I rode all the way from Queens to Long Island as we are avid riders. We both encountered mechanical issues and decided to go to this store because it was close to our hotel and had very good ratings. However, when we arrived, I realized that they had absolutely no intention of helping us. First, we waited for 10 minutes before someone actually offered to tell us where to go for repairs. We then waited an additional 10 minutes while the repairmen chatted it up with regulars and people with more expensive bikes. After 10 minutes, we were told to wait again and waited another 30-40 minutes to be consulted about our bikes. During that time, although it was a first-come first-serve establishment, someone entered after me, but apparently knew the repairman and he mounted his bike and began to fix his issue before me although we had already been waiting for a siginificantly long time! When the repairer was finally ready, he was short and definitely not as kind with me as the “regulars” and essentially said that it would take them a week to do repairs on both bikes even though they are very simple repairs that could be done within 24 hours in Queens. To be candid, it was obvious he did not want to help us neither did any of the other staff because our bikes were not elite like the other brands. He then told me I would be better off buying a new bike and said they had bikes there. I had enough money to buy whatever bike I wanted, but I chose not to because I would NEVER buy from a place that doesn’t treat every customer the same. I wanted to keep it local, but next time, I will go to the big guys because this place doesn’t deserve my money. If you are a elitist cyclist with a more expensive bike, they will probably help you. If you are an enthusiast with sentimental attachment or you are a new customer, plan on waiting. They don’t care about you unless you are a regular or it looks like you will buy from them.

I just picked up a couple of bikes for my senior parents here.the customer service experience was first class - i really appreciated their patience making sure my parents were fully comfortable and they happily answered every question.bikes are great too.i’ll be returning to this shop when i’m ready for my road bike purchase.if you’re not in the area it’s worth the trip

After trying to fix my bike myself and making matters worse, I was concerned how expensive my error was going to be. Alex was so professional and fixed not only the problem I caused, but also, other issues and the bike is back to being a machine (all at a very fair price). Great Experience. 5 stars.

After visiting several bike shops on Long Island & being told they had little or no inventory & I’d have to order a bike with them without test riding it (I haven’t ridden a bike in over 40 years). I thought I knew what I wanted until I actually rode one.
Frustrated and disappointed I kept searching & found Bicycle Planet & they had what I wanted in stock.
I went there on a Sunday was greeted pleasantly by Howard the owner & test rode several. I made my choice & placed my order with Chrissy who was very kind & explained things well.
They under promised & over delivered. Told me it would take 3 weeks to build the bike & have it ready for pick up, but within 10 days it was ready.
I picked it up & rode it a few times each time having difficulty making it up hills as I live in a hilly area.
I called & spoke with Dante who over the phone provided the best customer service I have had in years.
I had just hit the 14 day full return policy but I drove there, they took it back, allowed me to test ride something that was better on hills, let me take that bike home same day & refunded the $152 difference immediately.
WOW WOW WOW! Best customer service & satisfaction ever.
Best inventory for a bike shop coming out of a pandemic shortage.
Way to run a business Howard! Congratulations!

Howard is great, Eric is great, Alex is the best mechanic I’ve ever met, huge inventory. Best bicycle shop in the area, hands down.
