STAY AWAY

This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of booking with. The hotel does not have a phone center, so there is absolutely no way to call anyone. This is unsafe for any person staying at the hotel. Not knowing this, because their website promises someone will be available to speak on the phone 24/7, I tried to call hotel over and over again, with no response. I was then informed that there is no call center whatsoever for this hotel. This is completely unacceptable and unsafe for people staying there. I could not, and still cannot, get anyone on the phone.

I was sent an email saying that I had to provide the hotel with pictures of my state identification card, and a lot of other personal information. I was very uncomfortable with that, but after calling multiple times, and not getting a hold of anyone, I filled it out. The authorization was actually declined, meaning that the hotel had no authorization to charge the credit card, but
(via a short email) the hotel told me that they are still going to charge the credit card. At this point, I had a very bad feeling about this hotel and asked them to cancel the reservation (that I made just an hour beforehand). They responded (by email, because there is no phone), that they are charging the card (despite not being authorized to do so), and there is nothing I can do about it. Their website broadcasts "FREE CANCELLATIONS" up to 72 hours before the stay, and it also promises that the customer can reach someone on the phone 24/7. Both of these are blatant lies and are misleading. I spoke with my bank, and they are removing the charges, and were shocked by how unprofessional this hotel was acting. Frankly, they thought it was a scary situation as well and did not think I would be safe staying there.

This hotel's practices violate so many basic consumer protection/false advertising laws. I will be submitting complaints to NYC consumer protection agencies and the BBB, among others.

I have never seen a hotel (or any type of company for that matter) operate this way. It truly has to be some kind of scam.

I was surprised by the condition of this Wyndham property. The hotel showed signs of age and had an off-putting smell. My concern about the bed linens, which appeared worn, was met with an unhelpful response from the front desk. Despite their assurance, no one came to change them. The promotional photos don't accurately represent the current state of the hotel. While the location might be its strong point, I hoped for a more pleasant room experience. I'll consider other accommodations for my frequent business trips to this city.

The lobby doesn't make a great impression. The floors aren't exactly great either. But the rooms, despite their patina, have a wonderful charm and size. The location close to Broadway, Timesquare, Central Park, etc.makes the Blakely recommended. Price performance ratio for NY and the location, top

Attention! In the event of cancellation, reimbursement occurs more than two months later,!

Stayed at the Blakley in 2010 and it was great. Chose to stay here recently, knowing the hotel was now 13 years older and under new management. Yes, the hotel is dated but clean. The ac is terrible and very loud. Barely cooled the room and needed ear plugs and a pillow over my head to try to drown it out! This was also the consensus from two other guests I spoke to.
We had a later flight and stored our luggage. There was an $8.00 US fee for this. A standard New York standard?
As much as I liked this hotel for its great location I will probably not stay here again.

THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY.
My parents booked a room for 6 nights at this hotel, and the hotel cancelled the booking three days before the stay, because of "overbooking". The hotel NEVER gave the money back to my parents. They stole more than 1000$, and my parents had to book another last-minute (and more expensive) accommodation. Don't go here, you will only lose your money.

The location is good but they did not solve a problem at check-in and I had to cancel the reservation on the spot

Our Bags were opened by the porter in our room while we were away.
Our Suitcase Cam recorded him removing All medication (pills) from All of our bags.
Leaving My Mother weak and stressed.
My mother collapsed on a escalator due to her not able to take her medicine.

I would give 3.5 stars if possible, but will round up since I can’t. The location is unbeatable for the price. You will also get a clean room, which can be hard to come by in this city. The hotel is retro, but borderline run down. Vintage photos and appliances are fine with me. But peeling wallpaper and missing trim needs to be addressed.

Offers a late checkout for a fee of $75. $2/bag bag check was super useful for exploring the city the day of our departure flight. Not much else in the way of amenities or services.

For the price it's going to be really hard to beat.

The hotel and the rooms are a bit old/dated, however they're big rooms with plenty of space. Ours had two queen beds, a sofa bed, lots of seating, a good sized bathroom with a great shower. It even had a microwave, fridge etc.

The staff were very friendly when we dealt with them, and the hotel also has a superb walking distance location between Central Park and Times Square. It's also in easy access of a few different subway lines.

Nitpicky stuff - it looks like there was a gym however the room is now empty, the windows were a bit dirty, and it's a shame the black tap bar/restaurant is no longer in operation next door

Very little to complain about really, if you have a reservation you can stay here with confidence. Whatever might have been happening earlier in the year with the bad reviews look to be resolved

Chosen for one night only upon our arrival in the USA before leaving for a tour of Niagara Falls. Room clean enough although very dated. Hair dryer not present in the room but requested at reception. The luggage storage service is requested and accepted at the time of booking. At check in I reiterate that I would have left 4 small bags. The receptionist confirms availability at the total price of $28. Too bad that at check out another receptionist first tells us that it is not possible to store luggage for 24 hours and then accepts upon payment of $40 only in cash and without any tax receipt. I pointed out that the day before we were told the price of $28 but, unfortunately, they don't have change. I don't think this is good service.

Everything was correct except when hiring the transfer service to the airport, since they told us a price and then the driver charged us $30 more than what was agreed with the hotel. According to the driver, who owns the transport company, they used to have problems with this hotel because they arranged a price with the clients that was not the one stipulated by the company. In fact, the driver called the hotel while we were in the taxi and they admitted the mistake, but without assuming any type of expense, when we could have looked for other options if we had known the real price that they were going to charge us.

Our stay was a mixed one. The hotel is situated in a prime location very near to time square and other attractions. Transportation was not a problem. Food was not a problem. Parking was not a problem. However, the lobby entrance to the hotel has stairs to walk down. Which made for a rather difficult transition when moving luggage. There was a point of egress marked as a handicap entrance but oddly its window was papered over.

The guest services could stand to have more of a personality. They were not very inviting and appeared as though we were interrupting them during check in.
I will admit that when we made requests for room amenities they were met with prompt courteous service.

The room itself was on the very top floor which was odd as it was an ADA room. There was plenty of room for the price point and location. However, the pillows were too soft- collapsing under your head. And the A/C unit had a mind of its own! It was very loud and noisy- the rattling disrupted our sleep and was very annoying!
I woke up several times during the night.

Also, the common areas: elevator, ice machine/vending room, hallways
Were all hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. No way should this place have been so hot!
It was a mild evening and the outside air was more comfortable than the hotels interior.

Nice as a place, cheap and simple. It doesn't have pools or anything. But the location rocks

For the location and price, I doubt you can do better. We had four comfortable nights at the Blakely in a 2 queen room (rare in this part of Manhattan). Beds were comfortable, room was clean, staff was friendly, and location cannot be better steps to Central Park, Times Square, and every metro line you may need. We made good use of the microwave/fridge. It was surprisingly quiet given the key location (since it's off a side street) and very safe. I think the 4 star rating may be a stretch given the 'faded' luxury but if you set your expectations right you should be pleased with your stay. Note that we did pay in advance to get our rate but everything was smooth and the hotel seems trustworthy.

The hotel has its location, which is surrounded by all the services. As for the rooms, it is true that it is clean, but it is old. The price is exaggerated. It is not worth it

We were expecting a package from Amazon before our checkout but it got delayed, so we left a note at the reception to not receive any package in our name after the checkout. A day later the package was delivered and the hotel received it despite of our note. We communicated with them to return it and they said they would but it took time and nothing happened, so we started communicating again but they never responded. We feel deceived. There was another incident where we were expecting a package during our stay and Amazon notified us it was delivered and when we asked in the reception, they said it wasn't delivered so we called Amazon and they confirmed the delivery of the package, but we got nothing. Before our arrival we tried several times to call the hotel but they never responded.

Update,
After more than 3 weeks they finally returned our package to Amazon. I had to find another email than the blakelystaff email to complain so they can send the package back. It was frustrating but I’m thankful they returned the package at the end.
