Fantastic find! This place is so gorgeous. It feels like a portal into another time and place.
Anna is a pleasure to talk to and the whole house is so inviting and beautiful you want to spend time discovering all its charms. Great value for the quality.
Excellent location for exploring the region. City Winery is a must for dinner or shows.

We went there for brunch and it was not a good experience. I won't go back there again. The only lunch item on the menu was chicken on waffle and they said they were out of it. They gave you two paper napkins for two people, and when I asked for more, they gave 2 more!
One small salad for two people. It is overpriced for sure and they also forced 20% gratuity on the bill. The bottom line is it is really nothing good about it. I won't recommend it to anybody. We paid $82 for a few scrambled eggs and a green salad!

We were just bowled over by how cute this place is. Made me want to go antiquing! Contactless check-in without a hitch. Breakfast was perfect, and the picnic lunch package was a total gourmet meal in a paper bag. We had a lovely experience here - totally recommend it for a weekend getaway.

When we arrived, there was no one there. We found our room then had to figure out the code/lock system. Breakfast the next morning was a joke, some cheap French toast with peaches from a store. I thought the peaches were old dried up apples, frozen to microwave. I just could not eat it. I do not recommend going there. We left a day early because it was the worst experience we had in a B&B. 10/15 to 10/16/22. Dodds, PA

OH EM GEE! What a GEM!
I booked The Borland Inn by happy coincidence while traveling back to my home in the Midwest after leaving Connecticut. It was an impulse decision and one of my better ones I must say.
From atmosphere, to location, to hospitality, to service. FIVE STARS IS NOT ENOUGH. I even got a free upgrade. I hope to have the privilege of staying in this stately beautiful home again some day. Thank you for EVERYTHING! (Including a PERSONAL tour of a local vintage shop that was just adorable. I still am wearing a bracelet I purchased there every day)

Montgomery is a quaint village, with a handful of eateries in place, but for a truly wonderful brunch experience, one must eat at The Borland Inn, their three-course Prix fix menu is just awesome; a variety of pastries to start, greens, then followed by the entree - Try the fried chicken and waffle stack topped with a cream sauce, maple syrup and a touch of tabasco; out of this world, all made on the premise. A bit on the pricey side, but the overall dining experience is great and well worth the price. This was our first time, and we had our Jack Russel with us, so we sat and ate on their front porch, but the interior is a wonderful flashback to the 1800s and very spacious and quite beautiful. No Fanfare about this place. I think they know they have it down. Truly a hidden gem. Cannot wait to go back.

Because of covid checking is done online. There is a code sent in advance for the door locks. Worked very well. Room immaculate. Very large. Bathroom the same.

I had a wonderfully quiet and relaxing stay here. This location is close to many restaurants and shops in walking distance. I enjoyed their flower gardens and a calm cup of coffee on their rocking chair porch.
I highly recommend a stay. Thank you for taking such care of a beautiful property!

We just returned from an overnight stay in the private suite at the Borland House. My companion had had surgery twice in as many weeks and was getting restless so we wanted to be close to home but not at home. The Borland House was wonderful. The suite we had was two rooms in one with a private bathroom. Anna the inns owner and chef was pleasant and very engaging with her guest. The best part of the stay was the Saturday night dinner (included in the cost of the room) and breakfast the next day. Anna is an amazing chef. I would recommend this B&B to anyone in the area.

It was amazing! We stayed in the Bluebird room. It was so spacious and the bed was huge and very comfortable. We had a large bathroom that was adjacent to our room so you will have to go in the hallway. But they provided robes. The town of Montgomery is so cute with lots of good restaurants and a fun little bar. Overall would definitely recommend, and me and my partner will be back again!

Had great night in this beautiful house the only thing is I was hoping the restaurant was open and that there would be holiday decorations. The breakfast was delish

I've previously enjoyed going to the Borland House for brunch, but I went twice in the past week for Restaurant Week, and I was pretty disappointed each time.

Both times that I went, there is an off-putting, overwhelming smell of burnt old cooking oil as soon as you walk in, and it ends up permeating your clothes afterwards. There are also flies in the dining room, which is also not appetizing.

The waitress we had both times (Victoria) was not great. Even though there was barely anyone in the dining room the first day, and we were the only ones the second day, both days she didn't remember who ordered what, so she just asked us all as she brought food out. Yesterday, she also didn't clear the table after we ate, so we sat with piles of dirty dishes for twenty minutes after. It's also frustrating that they include a 20% gratuity, but there's no notice of that until you get your bill.

The worst part for me though was the food. I got the fried mushrooms the first day, and I'm not sure why, but they tasted heavily of cinnamon sugar, which was bizarre. The frittata was really too hot to eat and really dense and covered in cheap shredded cheese. The donuts were gummy and tasted like bad oil. The apple crumble pancake barely had any apple and definitely had no crumble to it, but was mostly a thick layer of whipped cream. The only dish that I was impressed with was the squash bisque, which was soooo good.

I love the atmosphere there, but not sure I'll be back again.

We looked through lots of places in the area and are glad we found the Borland House. It’s very convenient to local routes; quiet and peaceful with lovely grounds; great breakfast; and very helpful and friendly staff. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Attention to pandemic protocols is excellent.
