The Box House Hotel, Brooklyn NY

A total shame!
We booked two weeks in this hotel 3 months ago.
Unfortunately, 2 days before our arrival, New-York is under air quality alert because of Canada's wildfires. The Box House hotel offered us any solution, any refund or possibility to rebook later. What are we supposed to do with an unhealthy air quality everywhere in the city with my pregnant girlfriend?
There is zero visibility, do you really think that we could enjoy holidays in these conditions!?
Shame on you!

Very good located. Everything by public transport within 30-45 minutes. Nice coffeehouses etc.close to the Hotel. Gym and laundry practical. Rooms nice with balcony and nice view

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the experience we had at your hotel. We recently made a reservation through the Airbnb app and received a confirmation email on Wednesday June 21st, which I have attached for your reference.
When we arrived, your front desk staff, John, informed us that there was no record of our reservation. He claimed that your hotel had failed to send out the confirmation. Seriously? We traveled all the way from Boston with a group of four people, only to be told that our room wasn't booked. Unbelievable! To make matters worse, we were left waiting for over an hour, hoping for some answers from your manager. But John couldn't provide any concrete information. First, he promised us a room, and then he kept us hanging around for an additional 30 minutes. What kind of customer service is this? It's beyond unacceptable!
Right now, we demand a full refund from your hotel. We can't even cancel through Airbnb; we have to deal with the hotel directly. However one of the manager replied in rude way that the have strict policy and nonrefundable. So why would you tell us to looking for other places when you have strict cancel policy? ! The front desk guy seems like to have no idea what’s saying or handling with. Our entire trip has been delayed and ruined because of the hotel's mistake. This is absolutely outrageous! Guests should never be treated like this. I expect you to address this issue immediately and arrange for our refund. Take responsibility for your hotel's incompetence and ensure that such a disgraceful situation never happens again. This experience has left a sour taste in our mouths, and we certainly won't be recommending your hotel to anyone.

Room decor is great but the lighting is limited and bed makes a lot of noise. The curtains don't cover the windows.

A lovely few days very close to central New York but also all the fun of Brooklyn! Not cheap but not ridiculous either! A really good place to stay when in the apple:)

We loved our stay here. The rooms are nice and the hotel has a neat vibe. It’s a little off the beaten path, but loved exploring a new area of Brooklyn. I was also impressed by the customer service at the hotel. I realized after I left that I had forgotten a pair of earrings that are very special to me. Angelina at the front desk quickly went to retrieve them and assured me that they’d be mailed to me. As she was finishing her shift, Fong assisted me further, confirming via email and voicemail that the package had been sent. I appreciate that both women took great care to make sure I got my earrings, and were very understanding and courteous during our exchanges. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

Romantic place for events! I had a great experience in this hotel! Especially beautiful sunset on the roof

Classic lipstick on a pig New York hotel. Nice mid century modern chairs to make it look premium but it's a dump. Cheap Ikea towels, wobbly bed frame with lumpy mattress, doors that aren't sealed at all so noise carries through easily (can hear people in at least 3 separate rooms near yours) oh and they hosted a private event on the roof deck on a Monday night till midnight. At least they provided ear plugs at the front desk, I guess?

Went to a wedding on their rooftop. The setting was very nice. It got pretty cold (May 19) with the roof open. They then closed the retractable roof at some point and it warmed up quickly. The service was nice but the chairs were probably from a fire sale and were hard and uncomfortable.

The Box House Hotel is a gem! Yet more amazing are the People who serve you there. Well done to all the Staff - you exceed expectation and always go beyond the norm with you serving and warm reception. Thank you for making every stay a pleasant memory. This establishment is highly recommended!

I’ve stayed here multiple times and I’ve love it every time! Staff is amazing. I love the cute room decor. I don’t even care that the room only has cable. We made it work. There is a gym and a sauna! A restaurant that I have yet to try but always very busy. Parking is awful but what else is expected in Brooklyn lol. Love Love Love!

Very nice hotel with excellent rooms. The breakfast bar and cocktail bar are a nice touch for solo travellers to quickly grab a bite or drink. About a ten minute walk to the nearest subway stop, though there's plenty going on in the Greenpoint area.

I have never heard of this hotel and was pretty shocked that it has been there for about 15 years. To be quite honest, it almost looks like a hotel in Manhattan but with better and bigger rooms. The entrance is ver nice, warm, and welcoming. The staff was friendly. There is a bar that turns into the breakfast rooms in the am. The breakfast room is basic and underwhelming but just about right for and grab and go. The rooms were great and spacious. We had to change room dues to some TV issues, but it was quickly addressed as soon as we complained. Beds were comfortable, but pillows were not. Actually, the pillows from or first room were better, which makes me wonder why the inconsistencies are on bedding. My only big complaint is, it is very loud. You can hear everything or at least where we were. Heard staff singing and cleaning & talking loudly while room servicing. Others than the couple of complaints, Def recommend it. Reasonable prices.
