The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company reviews
16For the amount of money that they charge the staff could be a lot nicer. Very rude and impatient deck hands.
It saves me a lot of time, but i wish their schedules would align with the train schedules. It’s a hassle reaching there 1 hour early.
The trip was very calm, I liked it, I arrived on time, I didn't wait for anything. Although on the way back I did wait a long time but because I didn't know the departure time, if they use it, check the schedules, it's best.
Love the Port Jefferson Ferry. Easy on and off action. The staff is quick to load your vehicle onto the Ferry and off. It is a nice quick ride to Bridgeport and Port Jefferson, Long Island.
Ride was expensive _70 a d food very overpriced 2 orders of fries 4 chicken fingers and 2 20 soda eas $32.89
Excellent experience all around. Did first round trip in car. Web site booking piece of cake. Arrived like 30 minutes before each saling. Easy on, easy off. Make sure you PRINT the ticket on this thing called paper and not on phone.
Super job by all. On the way back as I type this review. Essily cut off 90 minute+ of driving for us.
Smooth trip from start to finish. Couldn't even tell when we docked. Very experienced crew. Very clean, fast embarking and debarking.
It was a great experience. Ferry is showing it's age a little, but still great. Happy to have the time to sit and work a bit and watch the water go by. Would ride again if traveling between LI and CT.
Pt barnum deliberately went out of its way to wake us and then proceeded try to reprimand us about being in his way. Meanwhile the entire channel was open and he was on the wrong side of it. All ferries consistently do 13 plus knots in a 5 mile an hour federal channel and wake the marina everytime they pull into dock. Port Jeff ferries do not own the harbor despite what their captains may believe.
Not many details about a ferry ride; the ship and crew did what they should do-safely got us across the Sound.
Love the beautiful view. Plenty of space to walk around. The bathrooms are good. My only complaint is that the oil they use to fry things is not changed frequently. I got sick just eating one of their fries. Foods are overcharged and mediocre at best. Well I guess they have to make money somehow. I highly recommend that you don't eat food from there if you have a sensitive stomach.
Nice alternative to rush hour traffic.
Pleasant way to spend commuting time.
Staff was professional & helpful.
Pretty disappointed with the fact they don’t give government discounts for railroad employees. The old man at the front desk in Port Jefferson has an awful attitude.
Friendly staff, I was confused about how to get in the line with my car but the guy that helped me was very kind. Beautiful trip, clean, inside had great ac. They price based off occupancy (and probably car size)
It is an enjoyable trip that keeps you out of NYC traffic when heading to Connecticut or points north. Snacks are pricy but decent
Great way to avoid bridge traffic to points north, scenic, peaceful 1.25 hour ride. During business seasons best to reserve on line, only complaint is that they are a bit pricey
