The Calaveras NYC reviews
17Staff are attentive, caring, and personable. The food is always delicious, but to top it off the drinks are the best in the area! It’s a neighborhood spot without any sacrifices.
Our favorite neighborhood spot, always feel like home. The food and drinks are amazing, but the staff is definitely the best part! Whether it's a weekday dinner/drinks or weekend event, we always have a great time at calaveras:)
Love this place. Usually eat there, but ordered tonight. Food arrived in 19 min and was great. Best Mexican in the neighborhood and good drinks. We usually order Birria Burrito and Mole Enchilladas and also good nachos. The whole package.
I enjoyed my experience at The Calaveras NYC. My food, the chicken enchiladas, was excellent. Highly recommend.
Food was amazing, cozy vibe, nice promotions such as bottomless mimosas for weekend brunch! Would definitely come back
Great cozy dinner on this snowy night. We enjoyed the guac, queso fundido and fish and al pastor tacos! Looking forward to coming back and trying more:)
The staff was amazing, the food was terrific especially the chips and guac! Had the tacos and was recommended the birtia for next time so will definitely be back.
Cozy Mexican restaurant serving up a limited menu of items.
Establishment is not handicap accessible so if you intend on dining, keep in mind there is a set of staircase that leads to the downstairs area for the restaurant.
The guacamole was too cold and salty. The tacos were decent at best and the drinks were alright.
Nothing to brag about but this restaurant is decent.
This is some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Everything tasted so fresh and homemade, especially the tortillas.
The Birria Nortena was juicy, tender, and delicious! Plus the portion size was very generous.
The three other people I was with got steak tacos, chicken enchiladas, and Carnitas Michoacanas. All were amazing!
It looks like a small place when you see it from the front but the restaurant is actually downstairs.
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice sit down Mexican restaurant.
Amazing food and amazing staff. This is hands down my go to restaurant in the neighborhood! Highly recommend!
The food was spectacular! Cesar was an amazing waiter. Please stop by and try it for yourself!
A great atmosphere! Lovely waiter and excellent food.
Not very expensive for what we ate.
Fast service even though we went there at 3: 30 p.m. I highly recommend.
This is my favorite place in the neighborhood. It has great food, great drinks and the servers are very kind.
Visited during Taco Tuesday- really great tacos - we got the fish and carnitas. And both were excellent - especially the fish so soft! The service was also really great.
Food and drinks were on point!
A major con is that there was a mouse running - the was staff were notified and just said “ok” which ruined our appetite.
A very lovely place to eat Mexican Food. I highly recommend the Tacos al pastor and the Enchiladas de Mole from here.
Really great Mexican restaurant. Food is amazing, staff is friendly and helpful and great atmosphere as well.
