The Capital Grille reviews
12Good spot for coworkers, and professional lunches. Right in midtown easy to get to. The lunch menu has a Ribeye steak sandwich this is excellent.
We were celebrating a 54th wedding anniversary. The best time for a party of four was 5 pm on Saturday. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff is attentive, respectful, and friendly. I did not take pictures of my food because I was totally a greedy goblin. There was this bread with raisins, it was warm, I added butter, and that was the beginning of a fantastic 2 hours. Our waiter's name was Ilie, I hope I spelled his name correctly. He was AWESOME! He dazzled us with the "specials" and explained how certain items on the menu were prepared. The Wedge Salad with Bleu Cheese & Smoked Bacon was BEYOND EXCELLENT! We also ordered a Caesar Salad with Grana Padano Croutons. I never order salad, I DID ON SATURDAY, IT WAS WORTH IT! I also had a cup of New England Clam Chowder, Bone-In, Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Strip with Shallot Butter. And I had the nerve to order asparagus as if I had room. And, my cocktail was some magical brew called a Blackberry Bourbon Sidecar. Yes, my family members ordered fun stuff, but I was so into my moment. All I can say is we shared the salads, desert, potatoes & asparagus. The others had filet mignon, lamb rib chops, and a bone-in rib eye. The drinks were a dirty goose, a passion fruit mojito and something I can't remember with olives. It was such a good time. Yes, there were leftovers, and they were just as delicious. I ate like a Viking and did not have to be dainty at all. HA! I absolutely will dine here again! Everyone enjoyed their selections! I recommend going often and trying all the dishes. If you are worried about cost, just treat yourself & don't tell. It is important to take time for yourself as well as others.
The service was superb. Food was excellent. I ate the whole thing! Our waiter was very knowledgeable.
This restaurant is a must in NYC. The food is spectacular, and the serve is top notch. We were served by Ray, and he was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. He was able to make fabulous recommendations, and would always make sure we were happy. This will be our go-to restaurant for years to come.
I came here for a work event and was worried as a vegetarian about what I could eat. But the servers were very accommodating and brought their grilled tofu dish. As a tofu-fanatic, let me say this tofu and the veggies with it were cooked and seasoned perfectly! All the sides were made vegetarian and phenomenal as well! This is an excellent venue for vegetarians at group events!
Second time that I have been to this location for dinner. Food is excellent. Service was great, especially if you are lucky to be seated in Tony's section.
Beautiful restaurant. The service and food were excellent. I had the filet. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service as always. Generous Pour event featured great wines from Orin Swift for $35/person.
The food is spectacular, theirs no comparison with any other restaurant in the city. The only issue was that the building’s AC was not on, it was quite hot.
Phenomenal food, excellent drinks.
Service unfortunately was a little lacking, which isn't the norm.
Ultimately a wonderful evening.
Beautiful American style restaurant, great food and excellent service. An ideal place to enjoy the New York climate.
Some of the most professional kindest and best servers in all of New York. The food is good enough for what it's supposed to be. The atmosphere is in dear need of an update though
