Located less than a block from Times Square. Super easy access to Hell’s Kitchen by walking and the rest of Manhattan by subway. Ended up being upgraded to a Junior Suite with a street view. Staff was very nice, and the doorman was very welcoming bringing luggage in and up to our room. A little expensive, but I definitely recommend this hotel.

My partner and I celebrated our 11th anniversary at this gorgeous hotel. We live in Brooklyn, so it was easy for us to get to. The staff is beyond attentive. They were so kind as well. They constantly asked if we were thirsty and offered us water or lemonade. It was raining during our stay. The staff let us borrow their umbrellas so we wouldn't ruin our date clothes. The pool and hot tub is small but comfortable. The water did not have chlorine so my skin was grateful. I wish more hotels had salt water pool/hot tubs. It felt amazing. The woman who manned the pool area was a sweetheart. She gave us towels, cold water bottles and had a great conversation with us. I hope all employees get a bonus or a pay raise. My favorite was the bathroom though. It had a Javanese bidet and a soaking tub! It's such a treat when my whole body is actually summered in hot water.

I took my daughter to NYC for Spring Break and we stayed at the Chatwal. The hotel was lovely and the service was great. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. It was centrally located for an easy walk to Times Square, restaurants, shopping and Broadway shows. I was a bit disconcerted to learn that the hotel right next door had recently been converted to a migrant facility. I noticed security and also police and ambulance on more than one occasion (when asked one on occasion when there were alot of police around, I learned that there was a domestic abuse situation). From my window, I could hear and see people (I assume residents of the migrant facility as they were casually hanging out and speaking another language - the hotel is located on a side street so one wouldn’t just sit out there unless staying there) cavorting, drinking and hanging on the street late at night. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again if the situation continues. I have a young daughter and I didn’t feel she and I were safe at night near the hotel given these circumstances. But I will say that I loved the Chatwal and it’s unfortunate that they had to be in this situation.

First class service and ideal location for visiting the city. Room service for breakfast is recommended and affordable. The first hotel I’ve stayed in with a bidet. Gotta love that.

A classic boutique hotel in the right place of NYC. Location, location, location, service. The hotel is located within walking distance to the subway, shopping, restaurants, bakeries and more. Although close to Times Square, the rooms are completely isolated from the noise and lights. We were welcomed to our room with a nice bottle of wine, a bouquet of flowers and snacks. If you are looking for a large gym or Spa amenities, this is not the place for you.

One of the few very nicest hotels I've ever stayed in and I'm a 77 year old very frequent traveler

The Chatwal, New York City is more than we special than we could have imagined. My family stayed in the Terrace suite March 21 - March 25,2023. Our 14 y/o grandson, my husband and me shared two beautiful, luxurious rooms, each with private baths. The terrace, which was shared by both rooms was and accessible by each, was perfect for an evening night cap under the New York sky. The classic, art deco hotel is perfectly situated a block from Time Square and Broadway.
I cant say enough about the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff. One young man in particular was more than helpful when my husband experienced a medical emergency on the last day of our stay. One of the doormen (I can’t remember his name, maybe William or Richard) was instrumental in making sure a care was waiting for us and all of our luggage safely loaded into to care to take us back to LaGuardia for our departure. I will never forget my trip to NYC nor the exquisite Chatwal!
The room was pristine! The decorations, the wonderful amenities, the view, the fresh flowers everyday could not have been better! The location was centrally located near Time Square, Broadway, and tons of shopping.

Based on my experience checking out hotels in NYC, The Chatwal is truly the only one that I would rate 6 out of 5 stars. That is correct. Truly a 6-star hotel and experience. From the doormen greeting you by name, to the check-in experience, to the hotel ambiance, to the in-room dining experience there truly is no other hotel like this in NYC. The ONLY downside (if there is a downside) is that most rooms in the hotel are not equipped with bathtubs. If soaking in a tub is your thing (it’s not mine), then make sure the call and specifically request on one of the rooms with a tub. If I could also give just one recommendation to the hotel, it would be to get rid of the funky chair/lounger in the rooms and replace it with something that can actually be used. It looks nice, but that’s about it. It has no other function. Chuck it. Myisha, Tiffany and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing!

Incredible! It’s been since 2012 since I have stayed at this impeccable hotel. Centrally located within walking distance to Broadway shows. No need to worry about hunting around the city for food … The Lambs Club is on the opposite side of the beautiful lobby and has everything you would want from cocktails to high end dining to delicious burgers. The entire staff is so friendly and what a nice surprise to be upgraded to their spacious junior suite. The room has all the amenities you would need and is extraordinarily well appointed. I will be back!
