The Chelsea, New York NY

I have been to over 15 buildings this week around Chelsea area to find an apartment and without a doubt The Chelsea exceeded all expectations. Not only is the building the most beautiful (and right next to Whole Foods), the units themselves are fitted with gorgeous appliances, the gym and roof terrace is epic - most of all though, the management team went relentlessly above and beyond to answer all my many questions and do everything they could to make me feel a part of their community. The Chelsea really stood out and by a mile.

My partner and I moved into The Chelsea together, and both love the place. When we broke up, neither of us wanted to leave the building. The leasing office quickly helped me find a different unit in the same building, and worked with us to replace our joint lease with two new ones. The entire Chelsea staff, from maintenance to the concierges who made sure I still got my packages after the move, made a painful process a lot more bearable. If you want to live in one of the nicest residential neighborhoods in Manhattan (Chelsea), definitely come into The Chelsea leasing office and ask to see a few units. Ask to work with Ally Schmitt if she's available; though honestly, you'll be in good hands with anyone who works here.

You can't ask for much more when it comes to a great leasing experience. The leasing staff was super courteous and helpful, and the building/amenities were very nice!

Toured the Chelsea with Giana this week. She showed me around the building and talked me through the leasing process. I’m from out of town so making sure I was able to view the space and feel at home was super important during my visit and Giana did just that. Thanks for putting up with all my questions! The building was beautiful and clean. Overall great experience here.

Spacious apartments across the street from whole foods, on the pricier side for rent and the water in the building is a weird yellowish brown

My girlfriend and I are looking for an apartment in NYC after relocating from LA for work. While we are both very excited for this new chapter in our lives, the NYC market has not treated us well and it has been almost impossible to find an apartment while working full time. The second we met with Ally for our tour of The Chelsea, she put us at ease and was so kind and patient as she walked us through our options. We love the building (especially the views from the terraces) and felt as though many of the floorplans could meet our needs. We look forward to continuing our search with Ally to hopefully find our next at The Chelsea

The Chelsea has been my home away from home for 2 years now. One thing that stood out to me about this building was how pet friendly both the staff and the building are. My fur baby Summer looooves going to visit Ally in the leasing office for a quick treat and a belly rub. The entire staff treats Summer like their own and it makes me so happy. Sometimes the Leasing office hosts events for the pets of the building and gives out Puppacino’s in the lobby and draws a raffle for free grooming sessions. It’s so cute and always done so well. I also really love that there is a self-serve dog grooming station in the building. It is so convenient to have in-between groomers appointments and especially on those rainy day when I don’t want to bring a soaking wet/muddy Summer directly into my apartment. I love how pet friendly The Chelsea is and I’m so happy I found a place that makes Summer and I feel so comfortable and at home.

I’ve just moved into The Chelsea. Ally in the Leasing Office made the entire process so smooth and seamless. I was very anxious about finding a place in the city as I am relocating from California, but Ally was kind, understanding and so attentive- fielding all of my crazy questions and concerns. I’ve only been in the building a couple of weeks but it already feels like home! I’m so excited I found this building with it’s incredibly helpful staff. It has made my cross country move so much easier.

Living at the Chelsea has been an amazing experience. We moved in September ‘21 and have loved our experience so far. It’s a great location which is close to the 1, F, and M where you can be anywhere in the city so easily. We also love walking our dog to Madison square park nearby or the west side highway. The building is kept incredibly clean and if you ever need help they always respond quickly. You are always greeted warmly at the front door, which has made us feel like home since day 1.special shout to George, Kenny and Thomas for that.

I’ve lived at The Chelsea for over a year now and it’s the best building I’ve lived in in Manhattan. The leasing team is friendly and always helpful. The maintenance staff is also incredibly friendly and very reliable. Azad is one of the kindest and most attentive supers I’ve had in my 10 years living in the city. The concierge guys are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, very rare to find in NYC. I feel very comfortable and at home at The Chelsea and I can’t wait to renew my lease for another year.

The chelsea is a great apartment building to live in from the beautiful apartments, to the great friendly doormen, to the amazing amenities! This is my first NYC apartment and I am happy to say that I made the best decision choosing The Chelsea!

Time for a nearly 3-year update!

My daughter and I have been here at The Chelsea for nearly 3 years - she on 14 and I on 12. Since having raised her in my own hometown of Westfield, NJ, never has any place felt more like “home”.

From building management (currently a trio of three fabulous women, led by a dynamo of a businesswoman!), to our resident Super and his staff of porters and maintenance crew, to the handful of the city’s BEST doormen – I call The Chelsea “the BEST building in the city”. Why?

This place seems to attract friendly residents from young singles and couples to families and growing families, to older singles and couples - and everyone in-between. Folks are generally happy to coexist here, and I suspect much of that attitude starts with the overall management of the building and grounds.

#1 MANAGEMENT: Let’s face it…the rental process in the city is cumbersome at best. Management at The Chelsea works hard to make the experience as efficient and pleasant as possible. These are tough times, and rents seem all over the place. Remember - the management team here will listen to you and do their very best to work with you to your satisfaction.

#2 MAINTENANCE: The Chelsea is impeccably maintained by a very visible and dedicated team, led by our beloved resident Super. Maintenance requests are answered, and problems solved quickly, with residents able to report concerns with both individual apartments and common grounds and amenities (which are numerous and outlined in The Chelsea’s online overview).

#3: DOORMEN: The Chelsea employs the city’s very best crew of guys who keep our safety and personal needs paramount, 24 hours a day. The doormen keep life moving here, serving as the “glue” connecting residents’ interests and needs with management and maintenance…and everything else that is daily life! It’s always buzzing here, with our guys at the front desk conducting the show!

I cannot speak to the look and feel of every apartment, as they vary. What I CAN speak to is the look and feel of both my daughter’s and my homes. The layouts and finishes are a great backdrop to our individual styles. And our views? You can’t beat waking to One World Trade out one window, and the iconic Hotel Chelsea out the other!

We just recently moved to the Chelsea in February '22, and we absolutely love it. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the building feels clean and safe. I highly recommend living here!

I have absolutely loved living in this building! The staff is friendly and efficient. They have great amenities and have a bunch of fun events. I love coming home to this building every day!

Tim made leasing at The Chelsea super straightforward. He was extremely transparent, had great advice, and was very patient with us when we were making our decision. His professionalism - combined with the building services and layout - made this an easy choice!

My fiance and I moved into a 1BR/1BA unit in this building in 2019 and couldnt be happier with our decision to chose The Chelsea. It has lived up to expectations in everyway with phenomenal amenities and a friendly/attentive staff.

When we first looked at the building we were introduced to one of the leasing agents, Tim, and he made the process very easy and stress free for us. He was very welcoming and personable when we did the initial tours and then was very attentive and helpful as we went through the application process and move in.

Our lease was up for renewal this past month and we were looking to expand to a 2BR/2BA apartment. To be diligent, we looked at many other buildings in the Chelsea/Flatiron/West Village area but at the end of the day we couldnt bring ourselves to leave The Chelsea. You really cannot beat the location (Whole Foods right across the street), the amenities (gym and spacious roofdeck with grills), and the staff.

During this past month, Tim (the leasing agent), proved to be critical in retaining us as residents and helping us with the move into the larger unit we needed in the building. Moving apartments/signing new leases is always stressful in NYC, even when youre moving within the same building, but Tim was again very helpful in making sure that process was as seamless for us as possible.

In short, I highly recommend The Chelsea and working with Tim for your next apartment.

I really enjoy living at The Chelsea. My apartment is spacious with lots of closet space, nice finishes, and feels very homey. I also take advantage of the gym, especially the peloton bikes. Such an added bonus. The rooftop is another great perk. Although the weather is getting colder, I did use the roof frequently when I first moved in for small gatherings, bbqing with my fiancé or just laying on a lounge chair taking in the city. Lastly, the front desk staff go above and beyond and really care about each resident. I have all positive things to say about The Chelsea and highly recommend to anyone looking in the area!

Great building and lovely staff. This building has very good amenities including the terrace and the gym. Everything is newly renovated. The staff are very nice and attentive. Azad is the super and always goes above and beyond for all the tenants. Also, Jeremey and Thomas are the best doormen ever!

The Chelsea has the best people working here - Tim/Danny made the rental process as seamless as possible; Azad and every single person on the maintenance team have an incredible attention to detail and are extremely responsive to all requests (big or small), and the front desk managers- Jeremy, Thomas, and Al - are super nice, professional and always willing to help out. 10/10 building and amazing management thanks to Greystar.
