The Cowboy on the Lake, Buffalo NY

Great ambiance and lovely view of the lake. The food is delicious. The wait staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Enjoyed a complimentary piece of cake in honor of my birthday. Would highly recommend.

Had six of us for dinner and had a great time. Food was delicious and service was great. Will be going back.

The stuffed pepper appetizer was delicious.
I ordered the giddy up med rare. The steak was done perfect, when I bit into the sandwich the meat was melt in your mouth.

Food is great. I had my Birthday there. I received a free pink cowboy hat, free champagne. Everyone I'd very nice. Some food items were missing but immediately were given by the waitress. This place is still fairly new so it takes time to work out the quirks. Great fish fry. So big and you get 3 sides.

I’ve been to Cowboy on the Lake several times and have tried many items off the menu. The stuffed peppers are to die for! I’ve also had the round up burger, which melts in your mouth and the mother clucker - which is amazing. I’ve sampled the lobster roll when my husband got it and it is perfect. The bbq salmon is also on point. We have personally never had an issue with any of the wait staff or how our meals were prepared. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is fun - especially when there’s a band!

Nice view of lake erie and buffalo skyline. On nice days be sure to get service out on the lakeside patio. Service was fast but the menu is not gluten free friendly. Unfortunately the salads are the only thing available gluten free. Not sure the kitchen has a separate area for gluten free. Prices are moderate and not out of line for this restaurant.

Visited in September 2023. After being seated, waited 2 hours for our food. During that time, we wandered back and forth between inside and outside and then suddenly, were stopped from returning to the outdoor area by someone collecting a cover for the band. Our waitress was kind enough to ask the "door person" to let us continue to enjoy the outdoor area while we waited but 2 in our party paid the cover fee before we asked for that privilege. The owner/manager is boisterous and critical of his staff which was audible to patrons. The food was mediocre.

Nice place to catch live music and a beautiful sunset. The food was delicious and priced reasonably. Don't let the name fool you. The bands are not all country. There is a $5 cover but we'll worth it. That money goes to the band. Go check them out!

This place was very nice. Food was decent. We took my 3 year old there and they credited her meal, gave her cowboy hats, a coloring book to take home and even a treasure chest for her to pick a prize out of. The owners were super nice and staff were wonderful. We will definitely be coming back.
We appreciate how kid friendly they were and how accommodating they were, when it came to my 3 year old.

We stopped in on a Wednesday night to have a drink and watch the sunset. We decided to stay for dinner. It wasn't very busy but had to wait almost 40 minutes for a table. Once we were seated our order was taken right away but we sat and waited for 40 minutes for our food and during that time no one stopped to see if we wanted something more to drink or if we needed anything. The servers were stopping at the other tables but we were pretty much ignored.
Once our food came the server apologized for the wait and offered us a free drink. The food was not good at all, my husband ordered the giddy up and the steak was literally raw, he ordered it medium. I ordered the mother clucker which came with a very thick piece of chicken breast, when I cut it in half it was not fully cooked on the inside.
It was a pretty disappointing evening, I wouldn't even go for just drinks because a can of Corona was $6.
Don't think we'll be back, it's a shame because the view of the lake is beautiful.

Great food and the best spot on the lake.live bands all the time, you can’t beat it! Service was fast and accommodating. The place is remodeled nicely and all around atmosphere is awesome.

When we found out the place open. My husband and decided to check it out for dinner and go for the sunset. They had music on the patio and the place looked very inviting and relaxing. The burger was delicious and fries were hot and crispy. Very yummy. Even with just opening things were a little slow but I’m sure I’m time they’ll work out the kinks. As for The sunset was just a perfect listening to the music too. What a wonderful end to a beautiful night.

Tots were sooooo good, and the BBQ sauce is amazing! Staff is awesome and a great location with the prettiest sunset.

The food was horrible. If I could give -1 I would. The bisque tasted like it came from a can. The Cesar salad was brown lettuce smothered with dressing and fish was dry. The table was broke, lights broke on the patio and fruit flies. Horrible food. The server was young but very pleasant and was the best part. It's too bad, it could be a jem on the water!

Where do you start! There’s nothing cowboy about this place. The music is generally hard rock or extra hard rock. There’s never any people in the place. When you try to give them a suggestion they laugh in your face. The food is 70/30 shot 70% of the time it’s probably gonna be terrible 30% you might have a good day…. My friend and I ordered the spin dip which was average except for the stale chips they served us after waiting 40 minutes what a disappointment. This place is not what I expected it to be. My friends and I have tried to go there several times for dancing never happened. The music is anything but country or country rock. The atmosphere is not welcoming. The people are not welcoming. The bar itself is very drab, and as I said, there’s nothing cowboy about the place. Oh, maybe the horseshoes on the bar to hold your money down on a windy day don’t waste your time going here

You know the little pellets that never dissolve they found in the ocean and banned them? Well I think this place uses them for their burgers. By far the worst food I’ve ever eaten. I suck at cooking but can cook better Than this. And no draft beer? Not even blue light? Wow.

I highly recommend this business. I had an amazing experience at the Cowboy on the Lake.  The customer service was outstanding and my dinner was delicious. I can't wait to go back!
