The Eagle reviews
8I had arrived at the front desk at 2 am and met with Abdou Rahime Diallo. He rejected my move in request because he couldn't find the envelope with my name (which turns out to be the mistake of management) and asked me to sleep in the lobby. I had to search for hotels at 3 am when most hotels are out of rooms. Sent a complaint letter asking for apology and hotel reimbursement but never receive any response. Very unprofessional management and bad experience!
The building itself is nice and the staff is friendly, but the surrounding area is not. Besides the Dekalb Market, there is no "neighborhood" feel at all. Worst of all, it is situated between a hospital and a police station so despite being on the 20th floor and having "sound proof" glass, we hear sirens all night long. ALL. NIGHT. LONG.
We've been living in this building over 2 months now and absolutely love it! All the common areas are gorgeously designed and very well maintained. The apartments have high ceilings, beautiful finishes and the storage availability in the basement is such a huge deal! All the doormen are very friendly and helpful too - we fell at home the moment we walk in the building.
Full disclosure, I am not a current Tennant of Eagle 86 but I was prospective.
I am currently looking at potential apartments for move in 3 months from now, but as anyone who has rented in NYC knows apartments don't list until 2 months ahead of time. Although this is the case, understanding what a building is like before the leasing dates near is helpful with all the options on the market.
Explaining this to their leasing agent Lorraine, she had no interest in providing tours until exact units go on sale. Although this is absolutely within their discression, the dismissive nature of this simple request provided a lot of insight into how this building must treat future tennant's. Perhaps it's different as a resident, but I'm happy this happened before signing any lease.
Desiree is an absolute nuisance to work with. She Gave us an appointment to look at 1 bedroom units and was about 45 mins late. We spoke to her about the delay and she was incredibly stand off ish in her tone. “too bad” were her exact words. Happy to find out now that this is how they treat their prospective customers. If these are the kind of people this building employs, I would never want to live here.
One month in, so far, so amazing. This building is really well built. I’ve seen and lived in a lot of buildings around BK over the last decade and this is the best spot so far. Great service, good people, quiet walls, full rating.
Management is awful here (particularly Anel Radoncic and Jordan Glick). Previous review is correct. Will not respond to any requests regardless of urgency. Looks like a nice place until you sign the lease. You have been warned.
Do not move here under any circumstance!
My apartment constantly smells like cigarette smoke because one of my neighbors is smoking inside theirs. This is supposed to be a non-smoking building! It’s been over a month and management has not fixed this. Not recommended.
