The Flatiron Room Murray Hill reviews
15 We are from Paris, we are used to beautiful places with music/shows in a nice setting, we were looking for a nice place with a real speakeasy atmosphere and in all sincerity we absolutely do not recommend.
Very poor service, disjointed orders, clearing done carelessly, table not straightened. The waiter brings a glass of wine instead of a bottle!
Charcuterie and cheese platter for $60 with a few slices of vacuum-packed charcuterie from the supermarket and just 4 slices of cheese! It's a shame!
The main course arrived cold, no one had the same cooking!
No bread to accompany our meal, the waiter stupidly tells us you're in NYC it's an extra charge. Not even a gesture for a table of 8 people!
We're talking about a show that's ultimately just a woman singing a few songs but far from what we expected!
We still pay $140 for service, it would have been wise to be up to par for an establishment that claims to be!
My real rating is 3.5 stars, but since that is not an option, I rounded up
Pros: Lovely, cozy atmosphere, everything feels new and fresh, tables have modest spacing - but the room is smaller than I would have thought, so unless you can get a booth, you can expect someone to be sitting aside you. The live music is a nice touch, they have a real sound stage set up, but the music isnt overwhelmingly loud, so you can still have a conversation
Neutral; The service is not overwhelming but not poor. They definitely try and upsell their various spirits, which they have quite a selection if you like brandy, whiskey, etc. Not a long wait for the food, and it was always easy to find a busser if we needed more of anything. I felt like once we decided not to order a liquor, the server was not as attentive, but overall it was fine
Neg - Compared to the beautiful atmosphere, the food just wasnt up to par. Except for the Toffee Pudding, there wasnt a single dish that i felt was above average, but nothing was terrible either.
You are definitely paying steakhouse prices, so unless you want to drink from a wide assortment of bourbon, whiskey and scotch and/or want to hear light jazz with your meal and really value a nice, classy and cozy vibe, I would not recommend
Dined here on Friday night and it was fantastic! Everything we ordered was made to perfection. The service was also amazing! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The live music was the highlight that brought the whole evening together. Beautiful!
Love this place! Food atmosphere and music are top notch as well as the cocktails. A must try.
Always 100% with food, service, atmosphere. We love jazz, we have had the same waiter for the 9 years we've been going I believe, it's incredible. Use to be called fine and rare, but merged during Covid. So lucky that some of our favorite people stayed and the menu is still on point. 10/10 always guys- you are the best.
What a great restaurant and destination for whiskey enthusiasts, good service, atmosphere and food especially tomahawk steak, definitely hope to go back.
Overall beautiful place! The atmosphere is so enjoyable with the live music. The food was top notch everything was perfect! My personal favourite was the mac and cheese. The sphere dessert is a must as well! In addition to this, the customer service was impeccable. Definitely will be returning!
Good vibe with staff making you very comfortable.
All seats are having a very good view of the scene.
Upscale restaurant for a lovely jazz dinner.
The food was 8/10, nothing out this world but consistent and good. The drinks definitely come with presentation and are amazing.
Come here for an amazing experience food and live music.
-I’d recommend the Mac and cheese to start it was a. 10/10
During my daughter’s yearly trip to nyc. We decided to spend her birthday dinner here at flatiron room MH! Amazing experience from GM and management team! Our server was absolutely incredible and attentive. The show and ambiance was perfect! Food was cooked to perfection!
Lady is the greatest! I bombarded her with lots of questions over the phone, she was patient, helpful, and informative. Most of all committed to giving me the ultimate customer service experience! That alone gave me insight on what our experience will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. Looking forward to the experience, DO NOT LET HER GO!
My husband and I were there for Christmas eve dinner. Loved the ambience. Cozy jazz bar perfect for date night. However the prefix menu they had that night wasn't that great. Carrot&coconut soup was good, but meatball was really dry. We both ordered steak but the cut we were served had so much tendon (or some kind of connective tissue that you can't possibly chew) that we did not enjoy at all. For the price we pay for the experience it was so mediocre. Service was OK. It wasn't really top notch service but tip was preincluded in the bill. I would say it was kinda awkward. Don't mind tipping for great service I receive esp on a holiday, but I dont appreciate it when I receive just an average service and still have to pay 20%. Overall, def a place to check out if you're looking for a nice vibe but don't expect extraordinary when it comes to food. Personally my husband and I won't be returning.
Had a fantastic time at The Flatiron Room! The food was delicious, showcasing quality ingredients and skillful preparation. The drink selection was impressive, with creative cocktails that added a nice touch to the meal.
The Flatiron Room's ambiance is relaxed yet stylish, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner or a night out. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service.enhancing the overall experience.
In short, if you're looking for good food, great drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere, The Flatiron Room is the place to be. Highly recommend!
If I had the chance to put 0 I would! The customer service was horrible. My birthday was ruined, the waitresses was racist, as she took our order for dinner she never came back to follow up, we waited 1 hour after placing an order for our dinner, inbetween that time we asked her if the food is coming she said it will take some time. Meantime the people who came after us had done with thire dinner and left.after hour and 15 min I had lost patience and asked for manager, Dino finally came and spoke to us tried to expedite the food but the point is, time is money and birthday’s come once a year. You guys waisted my time and ruined my birthday. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Awesome place. Great vibe. Good service. The live music was amazing! Very cool.but the bar stools were so uncomfortable. I heard someone say they were "the worst bar stools in NY. "
