Gateway is a game changer for our daughter. I am so impressed with all she is learning, and her confidence level has soared. The community is wonderful and the support system at Gateway is unparalleled. We are so grateful to be a Gateway family.

Wonderful school with dedicated teachers. Highly recommend over similar schools solely based on their unique program and individualized instruction. It’s a academically rich place with very kind-hearted families.

My godson is dyslexic and was really struggling in school. A friend recommended The Gateway School to my sister and when they visited she called me after to tell me he said, "They were really nice to me. Can I go? " He wound up attending for six years and attributes his time there as the catalyst for him to obtain the organizational skillset and confidence to now be a thriving (and working!) data analyst.

I went here, I didn't like it, but they did teach me how to read so 2 stars instead of 1

Went here from 5-8 grade it was alright.the teachers were alright but more than half of the teachers had left the school by the time i did. Furthermore I do feel that the curriculum does not prepare kids for general education i was the only kid in my grade to go to a public high school. We were taught at a very slow pace and the teachers did not know how to get the kids to behave so a lot of days were wasted. Also the lower grades were full of entitled rich kids who would throw a tantrum whenever they did not get what they wanted. The principle had many events to try have some fun but those were futile attempts at trying to get the kids to like going to school at gateway (none of the kids liked it). Additionally the teachers are paid almost nothing for a private school in NYC and that's with the school asking for donations from all the parents constantly. Overall from my experience at The Gateway school it was a poorly run school that barely taught or prepared me or my peers for high school and beyond. Ps.if my grammar or spelling is bad that's just another testament to how little kids with get out of this school.

Gateway really took the time to understand my child and help her to learn. She was struggling at her previous school. After being at Gateway, however, she started to become more confident-there's nothing more I could ask for. I'm so proud of her and I'm so grateful to Gateway for helping her learn in a way that worked for her.

My time at the gateway school was more or less one of the worst experiences in my life. I loved all the teachers and friends I met there however, the administrators did not know how to handle people with emotional issues. (I’m bipolar) and so they always made us feel like we were doing something wrong. Not only did they tell all the high schools I applied to that I was emotionally unstable (which is absolutely not true) but because of them I was forced to attend a high school where all the kids were “recovering drug addicts”.

If you have a child with emotional issues then this school is NOT for you.
