The Golf Club at Chelsea Piers reviews
15 The equipment was so inadequate we were not able to play. We had previously gone to Chelsea Piers to their driving range and very much enjoyed the facilities and golf club rental. Today was nothing short of a disappointment. We were told that there were only one size “adult” and “junior” clubs available…. After we got there. Last time we had clubs for every person’s size (new clubs were apparently on back order).
It should have been made clear that there was a shortage of adequate clubs for everyone at the time of reservation.
This place is a fantastic golf range! The Golf Club at Chelsea Piers is such a fun attraction - it's a great time spending the day with fellow golfers! This spot has multiple levels filled with many automated driving ranges. Staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful! Definitely come during off-peak hours and bring a group! I wish I knew about this place earlier and came here more often!
This review is for the golf academy/golf lessons package that are available for purchase. I was gifted a 10-pack lesson and was never informed that these expire after 1 year. I never received any email notification and was simply told by my friend to call ahead to book lessons, which I did for May and June 2022. When I reached out to the Chelsea Piers Golf Academy earlier this month, I was informed that my lessons expired. Quite surprised, we reached out for more information. They attached a new receipt we'd never seen before with a small footnote indicating the expiration. When asked if we could possibly extend or get credit for a portion of the lessons, Alec Simmons responded finally after nearly 2 weeks of follow up/chasing simply to offer that we can repurchase another package at a 50% rate.
That is a joke. I think it's a bare minimum courtesy for the Golf Academy to send an email flagging pending expiration. There was no notice and no heads up given. It's clear that this organization is not intent on teaching golf at all and is strictly trying to spam as many lessons packages as possible through their system. Just really disappointed with our experience and discouraging to see such poor business practices.
Must be nice to have a monopoly! Extremely overpriced + the machines often malfunction + drinks are wildly overpriced.typical NYC thing with low value but the best option.
Great to practice your golf in the city by the piers. Virtual golf or driving range with plenty of bays 4 tiers. There's a pro shop n pros giving lessons. Auto ball tee up. You can rent clubs and there's a bar too.
We are from out of town had looked forward to trying this place to have a good time.
We were greeted by some snobby guy at the reception acted like the place was packed and it wasn’t…
My message to that guy named starts with (R) :
let me remind you that you probably work at minimum wage and you are wearing an under armour polo! This isn’t a prestigious golf course it’s a driving range
Besides that it was a cool place just 1 stuck up jerk at the reception…that kills the vibe.
This place is fun and incredible! You can hit quite a lot of shots! Excellent view on the third floor and it was amazing! Would totally come back!
This goes to 25 years of when I came to USA, in less than 72 hours I was at this Golf Club and now once again. Can’t compare to TopGolf fancy screen and all but still amazing. Golfing in City it self is something.
A unique and fun driving range in the city! Book a premium bay for access to food/drinks from Water Hazard (on property bar/restaurant). Highly recommend. We’ll be back.
This four-tiered "super-range" features a 200-yard hitting fairway located right on the edge of the river. The beautiful view and the high tech features make it an awesome experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall it was an excellent experience and I recommend checking out Chelsea Piers Golf Club.
I've only had one semi-class and I've been charged twice. The course staff said I had another lesson on April 20th. I checked with the coach to make sure I only had one lesson. I went to the front desk at the practice range twice for this problem, and each time front desk said the manager was not here and asked me to call him. But every time I call, no one answers. The coach also testified that I only booked and took one semi-lesson. Why didn't the staff refund me first? Today was the second time I went to the driving range to talk to the staff about this problem. The attitude of the female staff on the third floor was bad. It was extremely disappointing! This is stuff’s mistake, not mine, why doesn’t golf course solve for me?
As the sun begins to set,
We started in Chelsea where we met,
The golden hour casts a warm glow,
And the river sparkles down below.
Our swings are smooth, our shots true,
The skyline of New Jersey in view,
Each stroke a moment to savor,
As we play this beautiful game of favor.
The golf club is no Top Golf and pretty expensive but not shocking for the location. But what Is really good is the bar attached to club called Water Hazard, the bartender Andre was super nice and made good drinks which made my time there enjoyable. I’ll recommend the bar with Andre anytime any day and when I’m back in New York I’ll be sure to go back.
I was a regular and had great experience at the driving range here pre pandemic days. However during and after pandemic, they raised the prices, changed to a reservation system vs ball card and prices became ridiculous. It was $75/hour during the pandemic, gotten better now at $55 for peak and $30 off peak.
Furthermore, I have $200 ball card which now I can’t use. It’s really annoying. I want a refund! I have now since go to a golf simulator in midtown to practice. So far it has worked well.
Always a great experience with the pro shop, academy, and facilities. The staff is professional, understanding, and the convenience is unmatched. I've been going for about a decade and nothing else comes close. Management and front office alike are both aces.
