The Hat Shop, New York NY

It was an amazing experience. Entered the store with no idea what I was looking for, luckily, the friendly and accommodating staff were there and provided advice on hat-fitting and maintenance.

Great selection and will definitely stop by again (. LOVE the hat box).

ALERT. DON’T come here if you have hats to repair that you did not buy here. This is a point that should have been pronounced on their site before I caught 2 rains and walked 7 minutes to get here. Not at all happy about it.

I called to ask about a hat that I need for a role I am playing in a controversial movie. When I told the lady owner person that picked up the phone that my role is a womanizer a$$hole she responded: “ ohh, just like every other man! ” And she didn’t sound like she was joking!

I made it very clear that it’s a movie role, and she pretty much said that it’s not an act, I’m already that person! I don’t know why a business owner in NY would be so shallow.

We (New Yorkers) are know to be strong for our diversity. It is our differences that make New York a hotspot for progressive and positive ideas.

I wonder if the local district business community board agrees with her discriminatory behavior. I will also communicate this issue to my school so that other NYU students can boycott this type bigotry.

Love the styles and uniqueness of the hats! Bought 2 custom hats and can’t wait for them to arrive. Exceptional customer service and these ladies know their hats! Highly recommend.
