The bar outside the hotel is a fine place to relax with a strong drink with friends. Tucked away in a lush green patio just off 10th avenue, with easy sights and scenes of passing New Yorkers - including Sandra Bernhardt, who was strolling by as we left. With the red London bus permanently parked along an outdoor wall, blasts of the AC from the lobby, and colorful flowers blooming around smiles and laughter, it may be one of the finest offbeat oasis’s in the neighborhood. You will be paying Manhattan hotel price points, but you’ll also feel a savory warm buzz in comfort and style. People watching spot galore. Try the “Interstellar” cocktail to climb the atmosphere quickly.

We were locked out at midnight for 20 minutes with 6 other guests who were banging on the door and calling, key card didn’t work, no one was attending the front desk or responding. When the night manager finally arrived, after we were all treated atrociously by the service attendant who finally appeared to mouth to us that we had to stay outside, while he retrieved the night manager, the night manager was defensive and said he was “only in the bathroom for 10 minutes. ” No apology. No service recovery effort. Just a lengthy explanation of why they have to leave the door locked because of the “nefarious characters” who would otherwise try to enter. Then he admitted the door fob has not been working for a few days. So—how about a “be right back sign” or a free cocktail? Nothing? Or how about fix the gd door. Nope. Just a long-winded diatribe about how we should have been more patient? Nice. Really fancy. Thanks so much. And the operations manager this morning? He could not have cared less. I feel like it’s a cute location but it could be so much better if the staff gave a flying f. Thank you!

Literally The rudest staff I have ever met in my life. Horrible place. Put me in a half room when they had tons of rooms available. Teeny tiny with tons of noise. I ended up canceling the reservation having to spend hours getting my money back and moving to a fabulous hotel elsewhere. This is literally the worst place on earth.

Do not stay at this hotel in warm weather. Building has a lot of charm and location is convenient. However, as told to me directly from their staff, the AC is designed to only operate when you are present in the room. That may be true but I was in my room for 3 straight hours preparing for a presentation and it never cooled down below 77 degrees. The front lobby and hallways were significantly cooler than my room. I was provided a Honeywell fan for my room. Not much help. Staff was apologetic but it was clear there was no resolution. Friends staying there said the same for their rooms as well so it’s not isolated to just one room or issue. They also says they would remove the facility fee from my bill for the inconvenience which did not happen.

Update - the facility fee was credited to my account.

Pros:
- Location is great, and coffee shop and bar are fantastic.
- Love the old school architecture
- My room was large and quiet (garden facing)

Cons:
- Basic amenities in room, no coffee, water, water glass. TV is old and clunky.
- Bathroom was small and dark.
- AC barely kept up with outside temps
- Desperately needs an interior refresh given the price.

Good place to start your high line tour. Get a cup of coffee from Intelligentsia or a glass of pina colada at the hotel bar here.

The room was clean and the service was great. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The corner room was spacious with plenty of natural light, but unfortunately too close to the noisy streets. From what I heard, the garden facing rooms were quieter but also smaller.

The high line hotel is a pretty building from the outside and has some character from the inside. The check-in is pretty smooth. Considering the standing of the hotel being offered either one room that is literally right in front and above (on the first floor) the terrace of the bar that closes at 11: 00PM or the room on the same floor in the corner facing the ice cream machine of the same bar (see photos) is a HUGE disappointment. In both room you can hear people talking in the corridor and on the bar terrace as if they are in the room. Needless to say everyone can enjoy a nice view on your room. For the claimed standing of the hotel choose other options unless you like promiscuity and noise. Otherwise rooms are clean…!

Stopped in for some cocktails to escape a hot NYC afternoon! Easily accessible from the high line, we didn’t manage to get a seat outdoors but they do have lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor near the lobby bar! The only downside is the lack of restroom facilities in their lobby. There is one all gender restroom, so prepare for a line up!

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This site will compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't regret it.

The customer service was exceptional. Frank Kelly greeted us on arrival, made sure our bags were secured until our room was available and provided all the information we needed to find our way around. The rooms are spotless and the atmosphere relaxing and beautiful. Great coffee too. Don’t know why anyone would stay anywhere else.

Fabulous hotel, great location. Comfy bed and spacious room. Lovely garden bar and surrounds. Good location, quite a few eating options close by, short walk to markets and restaurants. Love the styling in the rooms and hotel.great place to stay, would stay here again!

The friendliness of the staff put this experience above the expected, beautifully appointed, well located stay. Our room over the courtyard with its grand, old sycamore tree was luxuriously quiet. If you love rugs and antiques this place is worth a night's stay. Loved the stamp embosser, and don't miss the grand hall before you leave. Could have been Hogwarts!

This hotel is overpriced and feels like a rundown building. The furniture is super scuffed up and looks like a 1800 building. They don’t have individual AC/ heat so we didn’t have AC when it was getting close to 80 degrees. It also faces 10th avenue so it’s pretty loud. No real lobby, no complimentary coffee or breakfast. This is more like a 2-star motel that you only sleep in.

Only one barman at 6pm on a Friday. Over half an hour line to order. Lackluster wine selection. Not worth the wait at all

Hotel decor is beautiful but unfortunately, it's far too noisy to sleep here. I stayed the first night facing 10th Ave which kept me up all night with street traffic coming through the single panned windows. The second night I moved to a courtyard facing room on the first floor which was still incredibly loud due to the noise from the lobby right around the corner. Not through with my stay but looking forward to finally sleeping once this stay is over!
