The Iron Works reviews
13Food is top notch but the hours are random and arbitrary and online ordering is often randomly offline.
What a hidden gem in Troy! Wonderful owners and one of the best BBQ places we have come by in the area.
True BBQ is supposed to have crispy bark! So if you’re not into that do NOT come eat here and leave a poor review because of it!
Really great crunchy coleslaw, pulled pork was great, and the pulled chicken is on the money. Not to mention the wonderful brisket!
We will definitely be back with more friends next time! Thanks again:)
Brisket was ok. Pulled pork was awful. Mac and cheese was the best thing. Potato salad smelled rancid. Threw away half our order.
My Wife, 8 month old son, and I stopped here for a late lunch on Mothers Day. What a treat! Probably the best brisket I’ve ever had - tender, juicy, a nice smoke ring and tasty outer crust. The BBQ sauce also doesn’t overpower the taste of the meat. I ordered the two meat sampler and the portions also very generous, great pulled pork as well! My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the bun was ever so soft. We also ordered six of the Sweet Chili smoked wings, definitely tasty and cooked perfectly (I’m very selective with wings). Primarily a to go to location, there are however outside tables to sit on nestled next to a small pond with many ducks and geese which a nice ambience. The owner very friendly as well greeting us! Everything was very fresh and definitely made with pride, love, and attention to detail. Definitely will return and recommend to others.
Fast friendly service, good portion size and great pricing. BBQ sauce was very good on the smoked wings and the celery, carrots and blue cheese were included
Place has good food but can never get it theres only two days where there open most of the day and 2 days 2-8 and then there closed for 3 days definitely needs better hours
I have enjoyed ordering from Iron Works. The pulled pork and coleslaw is great. I always make sure to order extra cornbread because it is addicting. They heated up my food for me again at no extra charge after I was set back when picking up my order. Very friendly staff! I'll be back!
The food is so sloppy and gross, no flavor.i ordered a burger, the meat was hardly held together, the bread was soggy, meat had 0 flavor and was just soggy and slimy.not good.save your money.
Owner is such a lovely person, and the food is AMAZING! Definitely adding it to my grubhub rotation:)
Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad side, added a piece of cornbread brought it home and had to call to tell them how wonderful my meal was! Food is as great as the week they first opened. I highly recommend them to anyone!
Absolutely love this place, I’m somewhat of a regular probably order 1-2 times a week when I can lol. I’ve tried nearly everything already and it’s all very good. The meats are tender, juicy and well seasoned you can’t really go wrong in your choice. I’ve tried many wings since I’ve moved up here and this place by far has the best wings hands down. It’s not about the sauce (which is also good) but the actual wings themselves are smokey, and moist. Not the typical deep fried bar variety. The french fries are also a favorite at my house because of the crispness and the seasoning used. I’ve had BBQ all over the country at well known establishments and can confidently say this is the real deal.
But that’s not all, I had an issue with the food delivery service I used and had to replace my order after it didn’t show up. Even though they did nothing wrong on their end they still called and even gave me a little something for my troubles. That’s good customer service! 10/10
Ordered 2x and both times orders (burgers) screwed up, ROYALLY! I understand 1 maybe 2 mistakes in a single order. I get it, things happen, things get overlooked, but 3 burgers, forget bacon on all 3, no sauce on 2, no onions on 1 and no lettuce or sauce on 2. SERIOUSLY? The burger patties had really good flavor so oddly enough I was willing to give them another chance. 2 weeks later I decided to give them another chance. This time we had guests so we ordered 4 burgers and 2 other entrees. Well all 4 had just tomatoes bacon and cheese. All missing lettuce, 1 missing it's onions, pickles and mayo, another wasn't supposed to have tomatoes. I believe 3 of the burgers were also missing their condiments. I was literally so turned off by the magnitude of errors on this order I just threw my burger in the garbage and made a cheap frozen dinner. Order from Labella's in Wynantskill instead. I have ordered from there hundreds of times since they opened up and a mistake is sooo extremely rare there. They hire literature kitchen staff.
