The Kati Roll Company reviews
16 The restaurant is small and hot which is a bummer on a hot summer day. They had the large windows fully open, but there was no wind from outside so the whole restaurant was super hot.
We ordered the shami (lamb) roll. It took a long time to make but it was fresh and piping hot. The minced lamb could’ve used less salt and more spices, but the paratha dough was nice. Overall, its a good snack!
Always my pick for the end of a late night out meal. The food is hit or miss at 2am, but it’s very tasty during the day.
Bad tempered staff, dry chicken and paratha, messed up my order and then when I asked for a slice of lemon was told I should have included it in my order - last visited 10 years ago and this place is a dump now - FYI - I’m convinced there is MSG in the food - night sweats and inability to sleep
Dined in. The rolls were lukewarm and chai was colder. Worst chai ever - room temperature and spiceless. The staff was a little rude too.
Worst experience of my life. Pungent sewer smell coming from the facility. New York health department should definitely investigate their location. Food was terrible and not up to the standards as they were used to be. They have deteriorated over the years. When I asked about the sewer smell, the reply was it's just coming from outside which was a lie. If somebody is looking for a good kathi roll experience, stay away from this place.
Got their chicken tikka roll, lamb kabab roll and achaari paneer roll. Hubby loved his lamb and chicken rolls. I like my paneer roll as well. We loved the perfect blend of the masala that we crave from Indian food anywhere we go. We would definitely recommend this place. I reduced 1 star for how pricey they are for a tiny roll. But we will go back coz I prefer quality over quantity.
Their unda chicken roll and mango lassi is nice. Achari paneer is a bit bland comparatively. Overall a great place with limited seating and reasonable prices. The rolls are small in size but comparable to the price.
This place doesn't disappoint for amazing rolls. Although a bit less delicious than thelewala, but still great rolls and lasso
As-salaamu alaykum dear Sisters and Brothers,
I have been here many times when I was living in Jersey City, NJ and in Manhattan, NY.
I was introduced to this place by my Indian Cousin who lived in Jersey City for many years.
As the names goes, it serves Kati Rolls with some meat and vegetables filling.
The katti rolls are served hot and has this amazing spicy coriander and mint chutney spiced with some green chillies and chat masala that gives its taste. Also the smoky fragrance of the meat and the rolls lined with eggs give its extra flavour. You can wash it down with a glass of mango lassi. A couple of the rolls and a lassi and you are good to go. They also have soda. A great neighbourhood to hang out wth friends and family over the weekends.
This place was featured in Timeout New York Magazine as one of the top 100 places to eat out in the city.
.
It has changed so much. Not the same quality and should have realized that when I was there since no one else was in the restaurant besides me. Even the paratha used for rolls wasn’t fresh. This used to be my favorite but going to avoid it in the future. Hate to say this but Kathi roll has become the Indian White Castle lol…
This mcdogal street location has a female attendant at cashier. She is a such a good energy and wonderful person. She makes u feel home.
Good for a late night snack! We went there around 2 AM and it was open and it has a quick small snack kind of menu, I have uploaded the menu in this post you can check along with that and the only downside I see in this place is it’s really small place.you can’t even find a place to stand in here other than that food is decent and good…
Before I moved away, I came here for lunch at least once a week (or more). The kati rolls are delicious and this place offers a fairly wide range of options and is suitable for all diets.
The space inside the restaurant itself is pretty small, so I recommend taking your order to go and walking over to Wash Park to eat. Fortunately, the rolls are very amenable to that style of dining.
I love this place but hate how they got rid of so many of their options on their menu! The beef tikka and shrimp masala roll were one of my favorites! There are barely and meat options besides chicken which was extremely disappointing. Bring back the beef and shrimp please!
We went there on a sunday. The crew was very helpful and patient enough to give us time to place order. Received our order quick and it was delicious. Definitely recommended. Also try their momos.
1. The kathi rolls are good, the serving is very small compared to the price but the taste is good.
2. Vegan momos were bland and slightly bitter.
3. The staff is not very good at communication, especially for he people taking the orders. I specifically asked the guy about the condiments served with the roll and I specifically asked if need to buy condiments. He said cilantro chutney is complementary. I took my order and left as there is no dine in, later on to find there were mo condiments. Otherwise also they are not very friendly or the people serving at that time were not friendly.
4. Only rating 4/5 bec of the taste of the roll since living in Brooklyn, I dont get very authentic taste here.
