The Lake House at Sylvan Beach

Had a brunch here with a friend. I ordered their chocolate waffle and it was delicious. I will surely return soon for that.

Came in place was near empty and me and my party had to wait 15 mins to get a menu due to understaffing. Poor bartender had to manage the bar and take care of the tables, because they sent their only server home. The bartender/server did the best she could with what she was given. The dynamic caused for a poor dining experience whereas there was great service in the past. Most of the food was over salted, talk about HIGH RISK for HYPERTENSION. Me and my party ordered the warm pretzel rods with the brew pub mustard and were given some type of Italian vinaigrette as a dipping sauce which tasted rather uncanny. We asked for a honey mustard in place of the sauce and a side of pickles to balance out the saltiness in the chipotle chicken sliders. We were charged $1.75 for the honey mustard and charged for the pickles as well which I would understand if we were told about the up charge. I would recommend that the establishment better staff and think about the customer experience and employee experience in the future. On the upside the clam chowder is always fantastic, a good way to keep warm on a cold day. The fries were probably the only food not over salted tonight. The place is clean.

Very small and cozy casino. It's a nice quiet get away to go play some slots I have not tried the restaurant yet but the smells from there are amazing, will definitely check it out in the future. After visiting several times my original post still stands, it's a small and comfortable place to be, great selection of slots and they play good music too, well, good to me anyways lol. Also free coffee and soda located near the restrooms!

Editing to add that I finally tried the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend eating on the patio so you can see the beautiful view of the lake

Food wss good but it was freezing inside also the wait was 40 minutes to sit outside when there was a lot of empty tables.

I think the dinner menu was ok but would have liked a bigger one.
The waitress was the best.

Excellent spot for lunch on the lake! I'm sure dinner here is terrific too, but we came for lunch so that's what I'm reviewing. The restaurant, including the bathrooms, was VERY clean and well-kept. Everyone on staff was welcoming, accommodating, and very friendly. We ordered cocktails and food at the bar, then decided to sit outside. A server brought our food out to us, so we didn't have to go back in to the bar to get it. How nice! Great views of the lake, and the plexiglass wall blocked the wind and sand from blowing in on us while allowing us to still see out. The Spicy Bang Bang Bada Bing Shrimp was sooooo freaking good, and the Sweet Potato Fries were some of the best I'd ever had. My dad could only finish half of his Chicken Club sandwich, it was so big! My brother and I split the Shrimp Po Boy, which we both agreed was decent but could have used more filling (it was a little "bready"). Overall, the food and drinks were excellent, and the entire experience was top notch. I wish we had a place like this on Chautauqua Lake where I live - I'd definitely be a regular.

Service was horriable. They had one waitress that was bartending also and the outside deck 15 mins to get a drink. Wasn't accommodating.

I’ve been here before and really enjoyed it, however this time was a huge disappointment.

We came in specifically to grab drink and sit overlooking the lake.

We were told that the outdoor bar was closed. That was a bummer, but the hostess told us we could get drink at the indoor bar and sit outside, so that was the plan.

We sat at the bar and waited…and waited…and waited…and…well you get the picture. So we sat and the bartender (Luke) walked by us no less than 6 times and while he looked right at us - he NEVER acknowledged us. Not a nod, wave, smile - nothing.

The bar was busy, so I get that we weren’t top on the list, but noting a customer and letting them know you see them and will be with them goes a long way to make up for the wait.

After waiting for more than 10 minutes and having no one come over to us, we left.

It was our anniversary yesterday. We were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate. When we arrived at the Lake House we were told there was a 45 minute wait. We looked at a dozen empty tables and ask why the long wait. We were told by the hostess they had some waiter staff not show up to work. We added our name to the wait list and went to look for another restaurant next door to see if they had a long wait. (It was a Monday night.) As we were considering driving to another area because of the long wait, we were surprised to get a text that our table was ready. The supervisor, Kristan, opened up a table and became our waiter. She saw a need and filled it. This shows me a leader that truely understands customer service. Instead of being upset and leaving, we stayed and had a great meal.

Just to be clear. It is great business sense to keep potential customers happy. The supervisor could have stood around and watch us be upset because "It was not her job, " or she cound be proactive and make our anniversary special. Kristen made the right decision. I am sure being a waiter for a few minutes did not affect her managerial role.

Oh, by the way, a couple of years ago the same situation happened at the the Copper Top Tavern. We left instead of waiting and I wrote a negative review. Their manager just stood around talking to the supervisor while we waited. How do I know, because I asked. One of those two people could have sat us at a table, handed us a menu and taken our drink order. It is not rocket science! It is just bad business.

I was rudely met at the door as I pulled up to help my handicapped friend out of my car. He was yelling how I couldn’t park there. In order for me to e plain why I parked there, I had to scream over him. Needless to say, I got back in my car and left.

Good place to duck out if visiting the area, family, you know the "I'll be back in an hour" kind of place.back in the 315.restaurant was great- big portions.all updated games/slots.gamble with common sense folks- your psa for the day

Food was great. Had to wait a while for a seat but we had one right on the front of the deck. Just in time for sunset. We would go back again, but only for the food and the wait staff, who was great. The casino was not so great. Only a few machines that we didn't recognize and nothing was paying. Go the the food, but keep your cash.

The new cover over the patio is awesome. Had a great lunch there on Friday. Always enjoy visiting The Lake House.

Went on a Monday afternoon, plenty of spots to sit and play on the 50 or so slots machines to play on. Clean friendly environment.
