The Mansion at Glen Cove reviews
17 The Mansion At Glen Cove is an amazing luxury hotel and is definitely one of the premier destinations of Long Island, New York.
Originally known as the Manor, this gorgeously designed Georgian style mansion was developed by architect, Charles Adam Platt in 1910 and served as the residence of John Teele Pratt & his spouse, Ruth Baker Pratt.
John Teele Pratt was an attorney and executive with the Standard Oil Company, and the son of Charles Pratt, a highly successful 19th Century oil tycoon and a director of Standard Oil. Ruth Baker Pratt was an American politician and a US congresswoman that represented the state of New York.
A few years after Ruth Baker’s death in 1965, the Manor was acquired by investors and became the one of the earliest and most successful conference center hotels.
In December of 2022, I brought and treated myself and wife for a weekend stay at the Mansion and we had a wonderful experience!
We were warmly greeted by the hotel’s staff and we were deeply impressed by the beauty and grandeur of the Mansion! Both my wife and I enjoyed reading about the Mansion’s history, viewing the estate’s manicured lawns, and its beautiful Christmas decorations, and were in awe of the hotel’s immaculate entrance hall and its dining rooms.
During our stay, my wife and I found our room to be quite clean, comfortable and spacious and we had fun swimming in the hotel’s indoor pool.
I also had the great fortune of treating my wife and myself for an hour massage treatment at the MYW Studio & Spa. The MYW Studio & Spa is unquestionably the best Spa organization that I’ve ever visited. Their staff were amazing, kind and highly welcoming, and their therapists provided us with the greatest massage treatment ever. Both our therapists provided us with the most relaxing and smoothest massage, and they did so by making us feel relaxed, reducing our muscle aches and tension, and eliminating our body pain. We felt highly recharged and refreshed following our massage treatment.
Both my wife & I thank the Mansion At Glen Cove for providing us with a wonderful weekend stay at their hotel. We recommend that all travelers to Long Island visit and stay at this amazing and glamorous destination!
It was a great event for my kids.
First of all, we got late about 30mins and got a courtesy call that they were waiting for our spot (so sorry). When we got the mansion, they already prepared our table with two baby high chairs and we appreciated how they kindly prepared this event.
Second, Santa and elfs were so professional, Santa looked like a real Santa from movie. Lol. There was a room for Santa and elfs with Christmas decorations and we were able to taking photos with them. While we were having breakfast, Santa and elfs came around, and allowed to take pictures.
My kids really believed that Santa invited our family to his mansion. Lol.
Third, food was great and staffs were so kind.
We definitely will come back for 2023!
The luxury room isn't that. The beds were super uncomfprtable and hard, so much so that I didn't sleep at all even after trying to pile all the towels on the bed for some padding. The staff is terrific. There was no change of a $20 at the front desk to tip.
The hotel was beautiful, though our stay was only 1 night would gladly return for an extended stay
We stayed for Christmas weekend. The Mansion was decorated beautifully. The two rooms we had were updated, clean and the beds were so comfortable. Staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
Had our wedding here on 10/22/22, and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. The staff were extremely accommodating, we had a personal maitre d during the night to make sure we were eating and had a drink in our hand.
Astrid really did provide us with the absolute best time, and anything we asked for they ensured we got.
Thanks again for the best wedding we could have asked for!
I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had no problem getting the room I requested & there was always bottled water & fresh coffee daily as well as maid service. I would highly recommend staying at The Mansion at Glen Cove.
Had an incredible event here. Not only was the ceremony beautiful, lighting, environment, and staff incredible and attentive but they went out of their way to make sure every person had an incredible time.
Next to the event, our host Say was the highlight of the night. He made sure we had all we needed. I can't say more about how great he was.
We stayed for 3 nights we wanted to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy the pool and hot tub unfortunately the pool and hot tub was closed all week and the manager never got back to me to offer any compensation. The
Mansion was dirty and staff was not accommodating at all. It was as if no one was working the week we were there. We were very disappointed with the whole experience.
So I guess it doesn’t matter how she made us feel? At the end of the day you have to believe the receptionist and not us. I appreciate you writing back, at this point is not even about having or not having a reservation is about the way we were treated and how we were told that we needed to leave.
Worth a stay! We have enjoyed New Year's Eve celebrations here more than once! Having a pool and accepting dogs is also a big plus!
Came here for an engagement party. From an aesthetic standpoint, the front entrance is about the only location in this building that doesn't look long overdue for a refit. You can practically smell the "old. " There were two other parties going on at the same time as ours (a Sweet 16 and another wedding). Our soirée was relegated to just two small rooms: One for seating and another for the buffet. The dance floor (or more like the Designated Dance Space) had juuuuust enough room to fit about 10 people. It got a little claustrophobic in there, to the extent that a lot of guests retreated into the Autumn evening air just to catch a breath.
There was a definite sense of disorganization throughout the night, as if nothing was functioning the way it should and that the staff had no control. Aside from our room being way too tiny for our modestly-sized party of 40, I observed a a manager audibly yelling at the busboys. We were never told that the buffet was ready until we literally saw guests coming out of the other room with plates. At one point, a bunch of rowdy young men (probably all plastered) from another party barricaded the entrance to the restroom. They had to be physically broken up.
There was an open bar and the food was OK, but those are about the only good things I can say about the Mansion at Glenn Cove. Until, and unless, this facility is renovated and the rooms expanded, this place is ill-suited to host more than the smallest of gatherings, let alone multiple simultaneous parties.
Had an amazing time with yhe family at Brunch with Santa. Super cute. Clean environment. Very happy
My business partner and I came with our families for a film making "work-aytion". This place has a lot of character and is absolutely beautiful. Above all that, the staff smile a lot and are very accommodating to your needs so the customer service is next level. There is a bar, warm salt water pool, jacuzzi, delicious breakfast (included), spa and a host of other interesting things. We plan to come back and stay here next time we are in long Island!
Do yourself a favor and stay here where it's unique and avoid the typical chain hotels.
My son was getting married in Bayville and I recommended the Glen Cove Mansion. They came with a small dog.were given a room below grade; in the back by the laundry? And the room had no bathrobes and little TV service.seriously? They would have been better off at a local Hilton in Westbury.very disappointed.we should have read reviews.
I would like to personally thank the wonderful staff at the The Mansion at Glen Cove. After a fire at our home, my family and I were guests at the Mansion for two weeks. During those two weeks, we were treated with exceptional service from all staff members. A special thank goes out to the team at the front desk, especially Alicia Latham who went above and beyond with assisting us with the insurance company. Thank you again Alicia and thank you Glen Cove Mansion!
There were power saws and hammering and loud music from the construction guys until 11: 30pm it took 3 guests yelling at them to have them finally stop. We called the desk several times and no one came to stop them. We are getting a full refund on both of our rooms. My parents are older and we’re utterly exhausted after we drove from Maine and to not be able to sleep was just horrible. Walls are paper thin, you can hear the other guests clear as day. You are not staying in the mansion, but an off shoot of it.
