Hotel The Menhaden reviews
12Amazing hotel, very comfortable bed, very clean, free water and free coffee. Great lobby, great roof deck. Amazing staff. Thanks John, Felicia and the rest of the staff. Definitely will be back. Thanks
Never had such a bad welcome from anyone at reception
waited 2 hours before getting the room
dirty hotel
unpleasant and rude staff
no service
bar closed
how can we ask 600 dollars for such a small room
it is shameful
to avoid because they really think that customers are imbeciles
who should take as much money as possible
THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIFE!
TO FLEE
10/10 highly recommend the Menhaden! My husband and I spent the weekend in Greenport for his birthday, and we wanted a luxury hotel, in the heart of town, that was pet friendly. The Menhaden was the perfect fit! The staff is wonderful, professional, and beyond accommodating! They provide a tour upon arrival, answer your text messages promptly when you have questions, and are happy to provide any assistance or recommendations you may need. The hotel provides delicious amenities in the galleys, which are complementary. It was absolutely one of the best homemade cookies and croissants I’ve ever eaten! On top of all of that it’s so nice to find such a beautiful, luxurious hotel that is truly pet friendly. My husband and I will absolutely be back!
A perfect little hotel with some of the best staff. I would stay here again! It's situated in the middle of town and most things are accessible from the hotel, including the beach. The room was clean, well kept, with a shared kitchenette on each floor and roof deck for all guests to use whenever.
We had been looking forward to going to Greenport to stay at this hotel, and considering their beautiful photos and luxury pricing, we assumed it would be a fab place to stay… but we were very let down. The service was fine.that was not the issue.their rooms are just not up to par at all… from plastic laminate faux-wood flooring, to basic furnishings and finishes (some of which they admit are from Wayfair, including the mattress which was one of the absolute most uncomfortable we have slept on), to hospital-like blue LED lights, to complete lack of personality or warmth, the room felt like a basic Airbnb rental that was done in haste. Certainty not worth the $1000 we paid for a night over MDW. We have stayed at considerably higher end/more charming accommodations Upstate and in the Hamptons for much less. Very disappointed. To be honest, I’m curious to know how many of these ‘glowing’ reviews talking about how it’s a ‘hidden gem’ are actual legitimate reviews.
We loved everything about our stay - the staff is unbelievably courteous, helpful and friendly, from the GM Mario who is hands on with an effortless 5-star service mentality all the way down. Every detail of the hotel is thoughtful and elevated in a warm and inviting way - the place is unbelievably charming and welcoming. From the lobby, bar, galleys, room, and rooftop deck - even the stairwell with plush deep blue carpet and skylight is a nice touch that didn’t go unnoticed. Being right in the heart of town, but an easy walk to the dock, was fantastic as Greenport has really grown into its own with nice shops and great restaurants. We can’t wait to return next year!
Fabulous hotel. Great staff shout out to John very accommodating. Dog friendly, walking distance to all restaurants and shops. Outstanding.
A gem! Just how a boutique hotel should be. Compared to the south fork of Long Island, the north fork is relatively underdeveloped and lower key. This is a real positive. Get it while you can as one day it will have become like The Hamptons
This is an absolute gem, a real find: beautiful comfortable room, friendly and efficient staff and a perfect location - it's all there. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.
Check in staff very rude they need to be trained to be more helpful I would never stay in a place where people are so rude.
I was almost reluctant to write this review for fear that this hidden gem will explode. From the moment I called to book the reservation, Mario made me feel like family. He accommodated a last minute reservation and helped us get situated with the dogs. His willingness to make it work is rare these days and quite refreshing. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted with cold champagne and given a tour of the absolutely stunning hotel. Every detail is completely meticulous. The decor is straight out of a magazine. The best part however might be the chocolate chip cookies baked fresh daily. We were lucky enough to have 50 degree weather in January and we took our iced coffees to the spectacular rooftop. We can’t wait to go back with a bottle of champagne. Highly recommend the hotel if you are looking for a Greenport getaway.
