I’ve been here about 6/7 times and it never disappoints. It’s a bit overwhelming cos’ there is soo much to see. I recommend going there on multiple occasions to get a view of most things. It’s best to plant to see two or three sections per visit. My favourite exhibition is the Oceania and highly recommend the African History exhibition.

One of the great museums of the world. Best seen in small bites of 30-45 mins over your life time. Programs and research expand the experience.

Check out our ancestors art work in ancient iran (Persia). One of the oldest cultures and inhabited regions in the world.oldest inhabited regions in the world. Archaeological sites in the country have established human habitation dating back 100,000 years to the Paleolithic Age with semi-permanent settlements (most likely for hunting parties) established before 10,000 BCE.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City, colloquially "the Met", is the largest art museum in the Western Hemisphere. Its permanent collection contains over two million works, divided among 17 curatorial departments. The main building at 1000 Fifth Avenue, along the Museum Mile on the eastern edge of Central Park on Manhattan's Upper East Side, is by area one of the world's largest art museums. A much smaller second location, The Cloisters at Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan, contains an extensive collection of art, architecture, and artifacts from medieval Europe.

However on the way there there’s a strange area where there’s like the metal garage thing and security and I asked where is the vaccination site and they said “think you mean the metropolitan museum of art” very strange

The Met is always an uplifting oasis, traveling through time, helping one reflect the past, present and the future with the exhibits. Its a place worth visiting over and over again.

Can’t wait to visit again! The ticket has the name Peter as the person that assisted me, he was wonderful and guided me properly. This place might become a favorite of mine

Absolutely wonderful. Great art, paintings, sculptues and tapestries from Ancient Greece, Roman Empire, the near East, Far East as well as paintings from the impressoinist era from France, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, A lot of great Islamic art from the Sofavid dynasty. There is a room build in the style of a Moorish palace with ancient pillars incorporated into the room. This museum rivals the Louvre, Smithsonian Museum of Art, Uffizi, etc. I highly recommend.

This is a big one! One of those very few museums that made it to the top of the world. It is not only for its breadth and depth of artworks but also for its placement and recreation of where they came from. Must go.

Id give 3.5 but I cant
There are a lot of homogenous artworks placed side by side. I get it is easy to look at but it kinda loses the personality of the individual art.
Also 4 hrs is not enough to visually consume everything, u need a day or more. Id say the museum should start offering 2-3 days pass at discounted price like Louvre.
If I would have done this again, I would skip some and go to:
European rooms,
Medieval& Byzantine Art,
Spend more time in Dutch, Impressionist gallery

The amount of art exhibits and historical artifacts is simply humongous! Will need multiple visits to see everything. Everytime I visit I notice something new and learn.

The Museum is just awesome. The way to handle the reservations, the lines and to get the tickets is really fast and easy. The gallery is amazing and you need like a day to enjoy every section. This is a must to visit place if you visit New York.

Purchased the city pass tickets and visited on a Saturday morning. Everything went incredibly smoothly. The museum was fantastic, from top to bottom. The staff were all friendly! Everything was laid out well making it easy to navigate. Definitely recommend spending as much time as possible as it's huge!

Wonderful museum with awesome exhibits. The gift shops have actually great items for everyone. Would definitely recommend coming on a weekday to skip the line. If anything I would have to say it's a little confusing due to the size so I got lost a few times.
