I first came to NYCCD in the early 90’s and haven’t looked back. I began with founder Dr Jeffrey Golub-Evans, and later continued with Dr Emanuel Layliev who took over the practice & upgraded the facilities which are very modern & appealing. Each of them handled the cosmetic improvements—major work on upper & lower bites—to give me a smile to be proud of. Dr. Layliev’s office is my go to for general dentistry & cleaning, as well.

Today, for my first time, I had work done by Dr Lena Varone to address a cavity (rare) affecting adjacent teeth, impressions for a crown, and a temporary. The procedure couldn’t have gone better: Dr Varone’s caring manner, touch and easygoing fastidiousness made it a painless & terrific experience.

I got two porcelain veneers here and Dr. Layliev did an incredible job! I was really nervous but didn't feel really any pain, nor did the temporaries fall out. Was a great experience and I definitely recommend him

Cannot express how wonderful NYCCD is! I have been going to this practice for over 20 years and recently was treated by Dr. Lena Varone. Dr. Varone might have helped me overcome my dental fears! Her brilliant work mixed with her caring bedside manner makes patients feel totally as ease and comfortable no matter what dental work you are having done. Dr. Varone recently worked on some dental bridges I had done years ago at NYCCD (that I had done by Dr. Golib 20 years ago - and they lasted!). Dr. Varone was patient, kind and listened to my concerns and questions. Somehow my bridges wound up looking even better than they did the first time! Dr. Varone was wonderful throughout the process so much so that Im actually looking forward to the dentist now:) Lastly, the entire staff at NYCCD is incredible! Lisa and Chelsea at the front desk are patient and beyond efficient with scheduling and billing. Cannot recommend NYCCD enough! Thank you to Dr. Layliev for having such a great practice and staff!

Loved this cosmetic dentistry office! Found Dr. Layliev on IG during the pandemic. I loved the pics of his work and all the testimonials! First, I did a consultation, then made an appointment for Dr. Layliev to do some bonding of my front row teeth in 2021. He did an excellent job and my teeth still look great! I feel more confident when I smile and I love the outcome of my cosmetic results! Now, I use his dental hygienist (Irena) for my routine cleanings and she does an excellent job too! The staff and services are well worth the money! Keep up the great work and thanks for always providing me with great care and great service!

Not only is Dr Layliev an incredible, enthusiastic, and caring clinician but his dental artistry is second to none. I’ve been a patient of NYCCD for 21 years.

Dr. Layliev and his staff are kind, honest, and helpful people. I have no complaints about their work or service. However, I do believe their estimates are too high. I wanted to get some cosmetic bonding done and the quote I was given was literally 4 times more than another dentist with the same experience for the same exact work! I can understand/tolerate maybe 2 times as much, given the office location/costs but 4 times the cost just didn't seem justified to me. I ultimately ended up going to another dentist for that particular work and I am satisfied. If money really isn't an issue for you at all, it's fine, but if it is I would get a few quotes before making a final decision.

Dr. Layliev is a master. His very astute and artistic eye, combined with his incredible dental technique, and his thoughtful, careful approach allow him to perform amazing work each time I have an appointment. After today’s visit, I was once again in awe of his skill, and absolutely thrilled with the result of his beautiful work.

Dr. Layliev is a phenomenal and highly skilled dentist. If you want natural looking veneers or bondings look no further. The entire process was a breeze from start to finish. I am now considering doing my lower ten to match my beautiful top ten. Highly recommend!

I have been to Dr. Layliev’s office a few times over the past several years and held him in high regards. Unfortunately, this year I am left quite unhappy from what was to be an enhancement of previous bonding on 5 teeth at $1800 per tooth, total = $9,000. Dr. Laylive only refreshed previous bonding of about 11 years ago. Sometimes the simple refreshing is necessary but my bonding was in good condition. I am 70 and wanted 5 front teeth even and on the whiter side, not bright white. Be clear that I have a small face and narrow smile and it is the front 5 teeth that show in pictures, except on rare occasion. The result was neither even or whiter teeth.

The results I received this year were not at all what asked for in a most explicit manner. The reaction was his smile which, as intended makes you feel he acknowledged what you requested, and does not disagree. Without words attached to the smile it means nothing and is not an acknowledgement of his understanding of the patient’s request.

On a follow up visit I expressed my dissatisfaction. He scanned through photos and intentionally skipped one, stating (and I recall exact words) “no, skip that one. ” That was likely the one he took during the consultation when he placed the wax on to show me what the results would look like. Of course I can’t be certain. When I recently asked for the photos including the one during my consultation the reply was that was discarded. Really? Why? Possibly it was discarded as it was consistent with my request and they did not want me to see it. I liked it during the consultation and would not have given a $4,500 deposit if I did not think we agreed on the desired outcome.

POINT #1: Assure Dr. Layliv verbally states his plan for the work to be completed. At no time did Dr. Layliev state he disagreed with my request, neither at the time of the $250 consultation and $4,500 deposit or when I went in for the work. On the day the work was to be completed, I felt some concern as it had been some months since my consultation visit. I looked directly at him and stated what I wanted the result to be. Dr. Layliev had no verbal reaction, nor did he express any hesitancy in proceeding. He offered his smile, but no disagreement or concern were verbalized to suggest the outcome may not be what I asked for. The only words he stated following the smile were “let’s get started” and while uncertain I recall the words that followed were to the effect of "let’s get some pictures first. " Please know if he had any concerns over making the teeth even and going one shade above a light yellow, I would have signed a release to get the results I desired. I wanted the 5 teeth even and whiter, not bright sparkling white, but not light yellow. I am very realistic. I am a pediatric cancer nurse who is honest to a fault, humble and only a celebrity with my patients.
POINT #2 - When you pay a deposit assure they include the exact work to be done on the quote you sign otherwise you are agreeing to “bonding”, with each tooth listed and the cost of each tooth. This is too general and allows the practice to merely place some bonding material on the the teeth listed in any manner they wish. During the consultation have Dr. Laylieve verbally state what you are agreeing to before you pay a deposit as that is what should go on the work agreement. If you have any concerns, I suggest you record the conversation.

P. S. At the time of my follow-up visit I was confused as to which teeth were supposedly improved which is not a good sign and I am not making this up. I really could not tell. In response to my confusion and dissatisfaction, an offer was extended, which was to have another tooth adjacdent to the 5 which were to be “improved” bonded for a full price of $1800.
I received ONE call from the office, not multiple calls.
