The Parlor 109, Carmel Hamlet NY

It'd been about 6-7 years since I had seen a barber, and my last experience getting my haircut was very lackluster. My friend had been recommending this barbershop for a while; and, after a winter of letting my hair grow almost down to my shoulders, and my beard was unkempt to a point that I had begun to look homeless, I finally relented on seeing a barber and took my chance on getting my hair cut by Mike.

He worked with me to figure out exactly how I wanted my hair to look, and even provided his own recommendation based on my preferences; previously, barbers would just tell me that the hairstyle just won't work, and would continue on to shave my head. Mike didn't see the same obstacle nor provide the same doubt, instead he went to work.

After it was all said and done, I could no longer recognize the person in the mirror. When I had left, I had a hard time not looking at myself in my car mirrors, because this man didn't just take off some hair; and, having since returned for more haircuts, that same feeling has not gone away.

Tried calling this location twice but was not able to get anyone to answer the phone. When I arrived they told me they were not able to take me without an appt. I would not have wasted my time had they just answered the phone. If you’re running a business you have to be able to at least work a phone…

Awesome experience with both Mike and Dennis. They are both great. Love that they work with appointments so the shop doesn’t feel overcrowded and they take their time. Shop is clean…overall happy with their work!

Mike is the man. He works with my special needs son really well and he always ends up looking fresh when Mike is done. I have nothing bad to say about the quality. Only thing I would recommend to anyone reading this is to book on the booksy app instead of calling to avoid getting double booked

This is my favorite barber shop. Karla does a great job and the shop is clean. I recommend this to anyone in the area or even beyond, worth the drive.

What happened to Karla? She did an amazing job on my hair and now she’s gone. Have not gone back there to ask what happened. Guess I need to find a new barber shop.
