First off this place used to be the best. The food eventually became inconsistent in taste and then it came to the point where it is no longer delicious. Not only this but the place has a Black Lives Matter carved into the wall or written on the wall near the cash register and someone came along and added All Lives Matter which is very culturally insensitive. Obviously more than likely someone who works there posted both the Black Lives Matter and the All Lives Matter. Hmm the last time I checked and this is informative for all who may or may not know that the African Slave ships brought Africans to all different parts of the United States, Caribbean, Central America and South America including the Dominican Republic. Dominicans like it or not are Black people just like Puerto Ricans and many others. They are just Africans with an accent. Their food and culture is clearly heavily influenced by the African culture and this is not opinion it is fact. If you Google you will see that the dish known as Mofongo is just one of several African contributions to both Caribbean and more specifically to the Dominican culinary culture. TERRIBLE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Food is ok. The lady serving has a nasty attitude. Their pernil is good however I went for lunch and the pernil tray had scraps I asked if there was a fresh tray coming out she said no. She
Must not understand English because as soon as I turned around to leave a new one was coming. Still left - not going back.

The place is very small but the food makes up for it in a big way. I've tried quite a few things there and everything is delicious.

Really good food, trerrible service. 1 person serving.takes about 14 minutes to 15 minutes just to get someone to help you had a bad experience where I waited 15 minutes. No one in the restaurant was helping the poor lady serve the line then someone comes in behind me and the guy with the Du rag, and behind the registrar leaves and serves them so the whole time no one can help her. I decided not to get my food and left. Can’t express enough how Good the food is, long wait time.

Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Service is friendly and they are not skimpy on the portions. Highly recommended.

I dropped my review 1 star because of the following story: I enjoy the food here so i used to frequent here, until 1 evening i was taking photos and video to promote this place on my social media platforms. The woman taking care of me yelled at me, she told me it’s disrespectful to take video & photos of a business. I explained to her that i love the food so much i want to share it, she continued to talk down to me saying i’m a bad person and to never come back. The food is always great! They have a wide variety of selections. Everyone that works there is very very friendly and communicative. You won’t be disappointed

Wow, worst experience entering a restaurant in my life I tried to buy baked or chicken I don’t eat meat and they didn’t have any fish. There was only three more pieces of leg and thighs now and then I sit here and think about it why he didn’t want to sell it to me first he tells me each piece is three dollars I said fine can I get two pieces he asked me what I want on the side I said nothing I try to eat somewhat healthy I don’t want rice or beans then he tells me it’s eight dollars each piece if I’m gonna buy it as a side at the same time he’s trying to sell me el pollo guisado which I didn’t want because it look greasy as hell. Once again I’m trying to eat healthy long story short I had to walk out of there. The leg and thigh was so small. It looked like the size of a pigeon Mind you now they want me to pay eight dollars for that little piece.

Tasty and inexpensive Dominican food.

I had a hankering for Spanish food, specifically rice, red beans and pernil (roast pork). I Googled and this place in Yonkers that looked promising.

It’s a small place, limited seating, more of a takeout joint than a sit down, with lots of choices that they serve out from a steam table. Lunch specials (available all day) are around $10 each and the food is tasty. For $70, I picked up both a large and small red beans, a large rice and pigeon peas, a family size portion of pernil, a jerk chicken lunch special, a goat meat lunch special, sweet plantains, yucca with onions, flan and a passion fruit juice. That translated into enough food for at least 3 separate meals for my family of 3. It is hearty and filling and tasty and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Parking outside can be iffy, so best to call in the order and then double park and run in.

Great restaurant. Im at work & needed to take a couple soups & rice to the family asap. Lady over the phone was awsum & patient she understood me and got my order on the way. Everything went well untill the delivery guy didn't want to go up & got a little disrespectful, paper bag was wet from the soup being swong around. It's cool! But this delivery guy needs a sit down on customer care. Much love. Food is great.

Found this spot by accident & all I can say is what a little gem. Not only are the owners so nice but the food is delicious, fresh and the restaurant is very clean.although it’s about 20 mins from my house; I still come down once a month to pick up some pernil & yuca or rice, beans and chicken.
