3 I just had my 20lb empty propane filled here. After they filled it with gas, I carried it to my car and again to my backyard when I got home. To me the tank felt a bit light, so I weighted it on my digital scale, and guess what, it only weighed in at 32.6 pounds.
I immediately called the store and spoke to someone there and asked what should be the total weight of the tank when it’s refilled with gas. He told me 35 pounds, which means that they only give you maybe 15 pounds of propane, not 20 pounds like most other places. I used to have my propane tank filled at ace hardware for many years, and the weight was always the same at 38.4 pounds which is perfect. I guess I’ll be going back there from now on.
