In January 2023 I began the Path Of the Warrior program and wow! I cannot thank teacher Angell enough for the information and knowledge that he shared with us and the seeds that were planted. My entire life has shifted for me this past year while working with the 4 doors and spirit of the elements. If you are looking to shift your life, learn shamanism, shamanic practices and tools this is a great pathway, through this course I moved states, became a breathwork practitioner, and host ceremonies and gatherings locally. I’m so happy I took P. O. W. If it’s calling out to you and it resonates don’t pass up on it!

I have attended some of the breathing ceremonies on Zoom and am very grateful for this offering. The ceremonies are nourishing, cleansing, healing - gentle and deep. Angell truly sees every participant during the breathwork and connects with them. The sessions are always well designed with an excellent and varied selection of music that inspires work/meditation on multiple levels. Angell is unique in honouring and integrating his Western/European intellectual and cultural roots in his shamanic practice. He clearly has walked the walk and is a gifted and caring guide - no woo-woo, marketing-friendly one-dimensionality or being sales-y at the next stop - just a raw, enlightened and beautiful soul in all its facets. I had my first visit to Angel a couple of weeks ago and it was a transformational experience. I definitely had some anxiety and nerves going into our healing session and was instantly calmed by Angel's presence. I felt incredibly safe the entire time which was so important, especially as a single woman heading into a very vulnerable space. I'm looking forward to booking my next sessions and making it a part of my wellness practice.

I'm so glad i found my way to The Sanctuary. I did shamanic healing with Angel and had a life changing experience. I was at a point where I was filled with chronic and intense confusion, anxiety, physical ailments, depression and a deep feeling of being lost that I simply could not shake even while doing other work to try to help me. I was a bit nervous and it was like nothing I have ever experienced but Angel was so present, so empathetic and so grounded to the work and the process that I felt completely safe to journey into the unknown and also felt 100% able to be within my own self in a way Im not sure I have ever felt. Since doing the ceremony, I have felt a true release of the symptoms I was experiencing and able to face day to day challenges without the strife and intensity that had been present. I feel a reclamation and feel guided by a part of myself that I love! I've also been to the breath work session which was very powerful and helpful for me. I'm filled with gratitude!

What can I say, Angell changed my perspective on how I treat myself. He tought me to love myself, he tought me to embrace and love my hardships. He tought me how to just, BE. I truly am a changed person after my retreat with Angell. I have tried Rx medicine, psychology, Psychiatry, friends, rehabilitation clinics…you name it, i’ve tried it. Angell was my shot in the dark to try to heal myself. I now have an understanding of who I am as a being of nature. I now know that the voice in my head can be controlled to silence and love whenever I want it to be. I have peace with myself. Angell Deere to me is not just a shaman, but a mentor of life. He is filled with love and exudes frank and vulnerable positivity. He drew out things that I didn’t even know existed and he embraced them with me. He embodies an ancient prototype of what a human was originally made to be. Wise beyond his years, his compassion and essence is infectious. If you are in despair, please please help yourself and be with Angell. Big Love Angell, thank you for letting me finally love me.

Too bad you can only rate 5 stars, as I wish I could rate even higher than the best. If you're on a journey of spiritual growth and healing from lifetimes of trauma, and want to heal yourself to heal the world, what Angel teaches is tremendously effective. I attended a weekend shamanic retreat he hosted in the Hudson Valley, and was miraculously able to finally connect to my inner stillness, lost to a ruminating mind, and started the next week feeling grounded and empowered. Can't wait for more!

Hello, I am a son, a father, a Marine, a Wounded Warrior, and a husband to be. It is with a heavy heart that I leave this thought to you or any person who may find this message. Whether your situation is similar to mine or not. All that matters is that you are seeking to find yourself a path from your own personal storm.

My injury was labeled Traumatic Brain Injury with cognitive impairments. But that also does not matter. What does matter is that every day, I am lost in my storm, and every day, I must find my way back to balance. This is a journey, although most of the the time it’s a continuous battle, one which has taken a toll these some fourteen years.

Recently, my impairment worsened to the point where I struggled with the necessary cognitive functions to balance myself between the reality of life and drifting between memories or dreams of ideas and sounds. For the first time in all of these fourteen years, I was scared to realize that there was indeed another drop from the one that crippled me mentally. To have struggled so much, to live this far down, only to be kicked down yet another wrung. I found myself desperately seeking a way out. The universe, in its ultimate wisdom, put two films in close proximity to my ability to ponder a solution before it faded. Basically, the thought was through the power of mushrooms, you can possibly let your brain make new pathways to help cognitive function.

This search led me to the Sanctuary where I met Angell Deer. Who opened my eyes to a different path. So my review is as follows and with it a suggestion for those who are similarly lost or who are seeking clarity in their own life.

After my session, which was like coming up for air after drowning in what seemed like an endless pitfall of loose memories, I saw Angell and began to realized his purpose. He is the mirror that allows you to adjust yourself. He is the Custodian of Life, and I don’t say this lightly. If you choose to have him help you, let him do so. There is no judgment, and the journey you take is your own.

Angell Deer and The Sanctuary provide such amazing teachings that are so vital in today's world. I've followed Angell Deer for a couple of years and have had the privilege of taking a course with him. The itinerary that Angel created was one that allowed a very deep dive into the healing work while feeling the utmost sense of safety and support. The level of healing is not something that can be described but can only be felt and emanated through time and soul.

The retreat was very well organized, on stunning land, full of healing experiences and beautiful connection.

The Sanctuary is a beautiful spot with positive energy and Angell is a gifted and educated shamanic healer. I met Angell last year when I went to him for a shamanic healing session. Angell provided a safe space and his energy is kind, genuine, and healing. My session helped me to feel and release grief much faster than usual, which was powerful for my healing.

I just participated in the retreat led by Angell and Daya in the Sacred Valley of Peru. The retreat in Peru was magical and it has changed my life. I joined Angell along with 12 other daring souls on an epic medicine journey to the Sacred Valley, Peru (Spring 2023). Going into this retreat, I had a very basic understanding of what to expect. My experience was beyond anything that I could ever imagine. Many years after I received Reiki. The universe and my spirit guides brought me to The Sanctuary and my soon to be teacher Angell Deer. I participated in a plant medicine healing ceremony with him. That day Angell mentioned that he does Shamanic Reiki training. I went home checked his website and signed up.
I’m so glad that I did. He shared so much of his knowledge on shamanism and it’s connection to Reiki. He took a class of people and turned us into a community of respect, love and healing. Everything Angell does he does with all his heart and energy. Thank you.

Beyond words and eternally grateful!

I met Angell many moons ago at Menla for a Sound Healing training in 2017. I kept him on the radar and have participated on virtual Breathwork session.

Fast forward to May 2023, where I thought I was supposed to be in Egypt, but was called to go to Peru with Angell and 13 brave souls reuniting instead.

I didn't have much expectations, but knew I needed help to go deep into my subconscious and clear stagnant energies holding me back from shining bright.

Angell and Daya along with authentic teachers and co-facilitators held such beautiful and safe space for each ceremony.

I truly felt nurtured each day and each moment that allowed me to explore vulnerability and feel all of me, as I am. It was super empowering and a great reminder that while most of the work is done alone, being with in community can have a powerful impact to transform within.

This is a sacred space with people who are on their own path to heal and are there to help you on your path to heal. I have attended a Sacred Cacao ceremony at the physical location as well as a few of the breathwork ceremonies via zoom and they have all been extremely transformative. Rose and Pearl are knowledgeable in shamanic work and both created a space that made me feel safe to hold whatever came up for me during ceremony. Angell is an incredible guide during breathwork and facilitates a healing and loving space for you to discuss what came up after each breathwork session. I cannot recommend The Sanctuary enough.

I’d like to add that I attended the shamanic retreat to Peru and it was life changing. A week spent with Angell and Daya and a group of beautiful, brave people helped transform me into the person I know I am. I was guided by prayer, plant medicine and ceremony where I reconnected to myself, my truth, the earth, and great spirit. Angell held a beautiful healing space for all of us as we ventured with different plant medicines to help us go through our fear and come out more free and loving. I would recommend this retreat for anyone looking to meet with Ayahuasca. I don’t think I’d trust another facilitator and whenever I feel the calling again I will go back with this group! My time with the teachers of the Sanctuary is forever imprinted on my heart and in my daily practice of living. The Shamanic Medicine Retreat in Peru was intense, humbling, and inspirational, best described as “10 years of therapy in one week. ”

This retreat in the infamous Sacred Valley was well organized, and balanced with multiple modalities. The food, accommodations, and space for personal time were comfortable and nourishing - something often missed in retreat. We worked with many teachers who were experts in their specialty and craft.

I am eternally grateful for the lessons of Shamanic wisdom. For my vulnerability and transformation of deep healing witnessed in that which is the group experience of this retreat.
I felt safe and supported to explore my needs so deeply. This is such a rarity!

Three years later in 2022, I again found myself in need of this retreat. I have visited the Sanctuary for ceremony and again been pleased with context and organization.

I recommend this trip to anyone who wants to do real healing work for themselves while being supported by generous and capable teachers. If you are interested in or willing to trust this ancient wisdom there is no better access than this center and it’s tender and knowledgeable guides.

To have had the opportunity to work with Angell on his sacred land has been my greatest blessing this year. I can close my eyes and connect to the energy of the temple, feel the blessings of the land and immediately feel safe and grounded. I am looking forward to spending many more days at the sanctuary and working with Angell indefinitely.blessings

Peace and Love to everyone! I felt that the overall experience in Peru wasn't that bad, but I didn't like what happened while we took the plant medicine. Some part of me wished that the owner didn't take the plant medicine with the other clients in the group because I felt like it wasn't easy for him to hold space, and to be aware of what was actually going on around him. I felt that plant medicine could make you perceive your reality very strangely and that Angell, the owner, maybe wasn't aware of certain things, and I didn't feel comfortable about it. I think he wasn't aware that I got hurt because I felt he wasn't that vulnerable. I also had a terrible ordeal during the integration process and he wasn't available when I tried to contact him. I wished that they provided a better support service to help you with the integration process. Luckily, I was able to feel better, but I think I wouldn't recommend doing this again unless I had more support with the organization.
