The Wayne Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Bronx NY

My mom was under the care at Wayne Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation for six weeks. 11/8/ to 12/21/ 2022. I want to thank first and foremost the wound doctor who treated her wounds weekly. Such a great improvement in the healing process. Also the nurses who change her wounds 3 times a week. The wound on her heel and her hip both are closed. Even her backside is healing and it has not gotten worst from laying on her back mostly when she sleeps or sits up in the wheelchair. Thank you to the Nurse Manager on the 7th floor Gilbert and the nurses that tend to her. He always kept me inform of her care. Thank you to the Social Worker Lorraine for all her help and staying in direct communication with me. Thank you PT/OT for your help in keeping up her strength. I’m just really appreciative of everyone who had a hand in her care, safety and all around well-being. On the downside, her hair cream, comb, brush, hair clips, soapdish with her soap inside and large Colgate toothpaste were not in her belongs. Rm#708B Peace and Blessings.

This facility is absolutely HORRIBLE! The nursing staff are hands down the most insensitive, rude, disgusting human beings! My loved one passed away there after 5 days! They gave us HELL, even calling the police on us when we went and asked questions! That was just the tip of the iceberg….

I really want to give this place 0 stars. My family member, who had severe dementia, was a victim of neglect. Because of this, she was sent back and forth to the hospital several times. Several medical professionals that consulted with me told me the neglect stemmed from Wayne. You can never get in touch with anyone when you call; this includes Social Work and Medical Records. I got my relative transferred out of there as soon as I could. Unfortunately, the injuries sustained from the neglect are too severe and contributed to her medical demise.

This location was dirty, complete false advertisement - the pictures online aren't the reality. My father was there for barely a week and during that time the staff didn't actually perform therapy with him. The doctors (OT & PT) came to the room to speak with him, but they never took him down to the facility room to use the rehab equipment. The staff also never showered him, and encouraged him to go to the bathroom ON himself and leave him nasty until the next morning to "clean" him. This was just a mess.wouldn't trust another family member at this location due to staff negligence and lack of cleanliness.

Even though they are short of staff they are all polite and caring I love the people at the nursing home they treat my mom with respect always caring me madana me Racheal Gilbert and sue they all work in different departments they are all caring staff would recommend Wayne nursing home

The place is filthy and bug infested. Minus 5 stars. Nurses touch everything without gloves. Change bedpans without gloves. Straight up Gross. They must be paying someone under the table. Food also is disgusting.

My grandmother is in this facility since 4/27/22 and on 4/29/22 they left her in feces. The nurse emergency button was pressed and they didn't come till 45min later. When the head nurse was advised about what was done. She proceeded to disregard what was being told to her, said call 911 and mover if you don't like it as she ate her dinner like its nothing. This is disgusting behavior and it's because my grandmother is black. If she were white this would have never been an experience we would have faced. This place is horrible, lawyers have been contacted and the head nurse in duty lastnigh that was advised about her staff will have complaints issues on her. I will not allow this type if treatment to anyone let alone my family member. You all will be exposed for this. If I need to take it to the news outlets I will because I have video of the entire conversation with ur head nurse lastnigh who could careless about black patients at this facility. Do not bring your family here they will mistreat them like their life is less than.

Overall Horrible experience! This facility is NOTHING like they describe in their browser. You can call the nurses station on every floor and not get ANY help or any service!
At the Wayne Center, you WILL lose most if not All access to your Loved ones once in their facility because you can only visit when they say so, which is a major inconvenience that is NOT expressed to you before they admit your loved one into their care!
The Wayne Center of Nursing and Rehabilitation should NOT BE UP AND RUNNING!

The worst place ever to work very unprofessional from housekeeping to Human Resources to front desk and the workers are rude from kitchen to housekeeping

The level of Medical care with my family member was horrible and they didn’t return any of my phone calls. I ended up transferring my family member to another facility. Completely disappointed.

The Wayne Center has amazing care. The nursing staff were always helpful and polite. Thank you!

The staff are very receptive to patients' needs. My brother is helpless and was transferred from the other facility across the street with a tracheostomy. Was successfully decanulatted and i thank the Respiratory team for doing an excellent job. The nursing staff and the anxillary staff as well are doing superb job. I reccomend this facility who has concers about their love ones or family membets who are not satisfied with the other facility to request for a transfer in this facility

Our Mom was a fifth floor resident at Wayne nursing home for 14 yrs. We decided to make her room as homey as possible, when we realized she'd be a permanent resident and not there for short term rehabilitation. Nobody ever had a negative comment about the family decorating her room. We had all our family parties there for her as well, including her grandsons bar mitzvah! My children grew up visiting Grandma all the time because we lived close by. Our family was treated beautifully. But most importantly, the care mom/grandma received was outstanding. Trust us, she ate well, they always kept room and her personal self clean, excellent doctor care and rehabilitation when needed. Religious holidays celebrated for different religious beliefs. She refused to be moved to another facility even when it became difficult for visitors to come. I lastly want to thank her social worker, Ms. Evans who was literally our Mom's angel. There's no words for all she did. Thank you Wayne Nursing Home for taking care of our loved one! (Lebowitz/Melendez/Kaner family)
