The West Side Tennis Club reviews
9My husband wanted to join club for Tennis, and he also wanted our kid to take tennis lesson here. He called for lesson detail, and responed that we could attend open house. Unfotunately, a lady was RUDE to answer his phone, and kept saying to fill out forms and pay it! She also said many time that I did not understand. I am wondering why you answered the phone if you did not understand. Our family cannot trust this unprofessional business! This is totally BAD EXPERIENCE!
Was there for a friends baby shower. But if you like tennis, omg this is the place to be. Very historic within the walls of the club. Well maintained and run.
Nancy is very rude. Called to sign up but couldn't get very far because she refused to tell me what the fees were. She kept telling me to go to the website. I explained that that information I need isn't on the price list. I asked her to help me calculate what my family would pay she said "no". She should consider a career at the DMV.
I like the place. I came for an event here and the staff was very courteous and friendly. It's a small cozy place. They have a parking lot use it. You have to call the desk and inform them in order to enter. Do not park on the street. You will be booted and the fee is $180. This is a private area you must have a pass to park street side. They do have handicap lift on the left side of stairs call desk to allow access on and off. Very convenient to get to by transit the E and F train to Forest Hills less than 3 blocks away or the Long Island Railroad which is 1 block away.
The food was very good and the staff was very accommodating. They need to provide handicap parking for people who are not part of the club as well as an easier way for those of us who are physically challenged to enter the building. I had a difficult time climbing all the stairs.
Emailed with some questions about the pool and hours and length of the season. Got a reply to join the wait-list (100$ non refundable) if I want to join. What a terrible first impression I got from this place.
What an awesome park to kick back and relax. You can stand in the outfield and watch the game comfortably drinking a beer or just eat at a bunch of cool vendor spots. The beers are a little expensive, but just enjoy.
Can the story of tennis in the United States be told w/out reference to WSTC? What a clubhouse!
The tennis program is a joke, only good for recreational tennis players. Too pricey for what they offer.
The rules of the club don’t give you any freedom, feels more like a boarding school with strict rules and regulations.
Not adapted for the new World we are living in.
Waste of money and time. I am leaving after 15 years of membership. After being publicly Intimidated and treated like a first grader rather than the professional Doctor and human being that I am.
Sad.
